Kunti stood straight, her hands tied by a glowing rope, a supernatural rope that made it impossible for her to escape.
She stood in the middle of many spirits gathered, becoming the center of attention, all their disgusted gazes directed at her, the chatter and bad words about her felt so painful.
"They say she's contaminated, so disgusting," whispered one of the spirits.
"Free spirits like us shouldn't hope to live," whispered another spirit's voice, with a little empathy for Kunti.
Kunti still stood straight, tears streaming down her face, the pain in her back spreading, the contamination seemed to be trying to spread.
"Hey!!! Lowly spirits don't know what's in store for you, you should be grateful that Mr. Soekarno accepted you!!!" Said one of the voices loudly.
Kunti shrank, she sobbed softly looking down. Meanwhile Tirta gritted his teeth hard, his fangs began to appear, his eyes turned red unable to hold back his anger seeing Kunti being treated like that.
"Tirta... Calm yourself down," Astri's soft voice came out to calm Tirta down.
"How can I be calm?! She's innocent!? You know that too Astri!"
They both finally fell silent, now Astri looked straight at Kunti who was still being cursed, her eyes were sad for a moment, then her hands clenched tightly.
"Then what can you do Tirta? Go to the middle and stop them all?" Astri said in a tone that tried to convince Tirta.
Astri turned her gaze, now she saw Tirta taking a stance.
"Wait... Are you crazy?!"
In an instant, Tirta stomped his feet and destroyed the landscape of his steps.
"Damn... Everyone can go crazy when they're in love," he said while scratching his head in frustration.
At this moment... Tirta felt his heart being torn apart seeing the girl in front of him crying helplessly. His gaze was soft... But also sad, he approached to hold Kunti's cheek and made her look up to see his face.
Kunti gasped, her pair of eyes saw Tirta's gentle expression and for some reason... Full of love. His gaze was extinguished, a feeling of regret was clearly hidden there.
A moment of silence filled, the free spirits who watched it were speechless, anger and everything mixed into one.
"Tirta!? What are you doing, don't touch a dirty spirit, you should know that rule!!" Said one of the free spirits loudly and implied his annoyance.
Tirta's hand went down to release his touch, now he turned and looked at all the free spirits who were there.
Titra's eyes were red, he stared at all the spirits there, they were stunned, feeling the terrifying aura from his gaze.
"YOU ARE THE DIRTY ONE!!"
Tirta's voice was mixed with a roar, like a raging monster, the spirits who were there were silent, stunned, shuddering and afraid.
Kunti stood with wide eyes and full of disbelief.
"Why... Why are you trying to protect me."
Her tears fell again, and with slow steps, she approached and leaned her head on Tirta's back.
"Tirta... Stop this, don't make me more indebted to you, it's enough," said Kunti in a sad and sobbing tone.
Tirta did not move, her red eyes still staring sharply at all the spirits there, her angry growl was clearly heard.
The Monas monument was shining, very bright, bright even more dazzling than the full moon shining in the sky.
Slowly the figure was visible, his stern face was permanently attached to his face, his black cap represented the figure of a leader more than anything else.
"It will be done... Purification for Kunti, I hope you don't interfere with this process Tirta." Said Mr. Soekarno with an exasperated voice that seemed to come from Monas itself.
***
"Mr. Soekarno, I swear... This is not what you think." Tirta said, looking up to see the stern figure floating in the air.
"Can you give me proof?"
The words just now made Tirta silent for a moment, his hands clenched tightly.
"I... I can't, but for this time trust me sir."
Mr. Soekarno fell silent, his gaze looking down, seeing Tirta still protecting the girl behind him with all his soul.
"As long as you can't see what's in her heart, the answer can't be found, then prove it to me." Mr. Soekarno said with an echo of a voice that sounded majestic.
A moment of silence fell, Tirta lowered his head, clenching his hands so tightly, he growled at himself, at his helplessness.
"Then ask her, ask her... Does she ever hope to come back life."
The world seemed to hold its breath, the spirits watching were also silent, now Tirta faced Kunti, looking at her face sadly, but his eyes radiated a little bit of confidence.
Kunti lowered her face, she could not bear to see the figure in front of her, her tears flowed. And in the faint silence, slowly her cheeks were touched gently.
Her head was lifted to see Tirta's hopeful expression.
"Please tell me... If you've had enough of all this." Tirta whispered in a faint voice.
"I'm happy... Meeting you, I'm grateful, I never expected more Tirta." Kunti said with her sobs accompanying her.
Now Tirta stared sharply at Mr. Soekarno, a figure who should be glorified and respected.
"You heard it yourself Mr. Soekarno, please let Kunti go." Tirta said a little softly and begging.
Mr. Soekarno still stared in silence, then he shook his head slowly.
"Words alone will not be enough to prove, rules are rules, she must still be purified."
Tirta glared, he growled in annoyance. Then... From behind him, suddenly a spirit in military clothing held him tightly, locking him so he could not move.
"Please do not make this much more complicated Mr. Tirta, this is just a purification." The spirit said.
Tirta rebelled loudly, but it was useless, the power of the military spirit was truly extraordinary. Now... He could only watch Kunti being led to be taken to the center, where the purification would take place.
"KUNTI!!!"
From above the sky, a light shone brightly, not from the moon, not even from the light itself.
It radiated brightly that almost lit up a city, and then the light whipped, heading towards Kunti from above the sky.
Tirta glared, he rebelled even harder, but unfortunately, all his actions were in vain. Now... He could only see Kunti turning to him, smiling softly... As if it was the last smile she would give.
And in the silence of the silenced city, Tirta's tears fell, along with the touch of the white lightning to the surface.
Everything turned white, even the air itself dissolved in the holy light.
