Chapter 8 - Need More

United Nations General Assembly Building, Earth 2028

"It is outrageous that you think magic can solve all of our problems." A voice yells from a distant corner of the large room. A few other voices join in with the first voice in the outrage of such a ridiculous proposal.

"Magic isn't even real." Another voice yells out in disbelief.

"All of you hush for one minute. We all just saw proof of magic. Yes, this is preposterous that a little 'magic' can solve all of our bloody issues," A old heavy English voice cuts through all the other voices. "But I'll bite. What exactly do you have in mind?" The England's Prime Minister asked the mysterious lady while the voices in the room finally began to calm down.

The pink veil on the lady's face shakes slightly as she walks to the podium. Each step is measured in a way that each representative only catches a slight glimpse of her face, but not enough to give any true details. "Move."

She gives one command to the man standing at the podium and he moves away from it seemingly against his will. "Magic is real. It's just prevalent in this world. Black magic, dark magic, voodoo, divination, sorcery, and other magic are all real. It's just that most of it has been prosecuted since the beginning of human civilization." Her voice is calm and collected as she addresses the leaders.

"The stories of Merlin," she looks at the English Prime Minister, "are all based on true stories."

"But of course with magic there comes magical creatures. Most of them died out due to over-hunting, but a few live. Secluded to their own corner of the world, such as, BigFoot, or one the last few members of the sasquatch family." She continues to speak with such unforeseen knowledge to the room.

"You all would see more of these creatures today if it wasn't for the Church." Murmurs once again spread through the crowd. "Catholic, Presbyterian, or Lutheran. It doesn't matter. They all helped in the destruction of these creatures's lives, and a chance at reproduction. All under the apparent orders of a god, who hasn't even been awake for most of these the time of humanity."

Suddenly all of the countries and people of Christian denomination scream out against what they were hearing.

"Silence!" The woman shuts down all the commotion with a single word. Her words are imbued with magic stopping anyone from talking.

"As I was saying the church made sure to remove all other nuisances from their rule. That included anyone who worshiped another god or practiced other gods' magic." A hand in the room raises as if asking permission to speak. "Yes, you there with your hand raised you may speak." The woman allows the man to speak.

An average height man with blonde hair and green eyes coughs a few times to make sure his voice is back, "I am the Prime Minister of Canada, Dustin Hallback. Now from what I am hearing all folklore, myths, legends, and tales are all true, but what proof do you have other than to make all the weapons in this room fall to the ground." He proposed the question with dignity that some of the other leaders of the room failed to have.

"Mr. Hallback, would you like to see more proof?" The mysterious woman asks him with a slightly dangerous tone in her voice.

"Yes I would like to see." He kindly responded to her question.

The mysterious woman raises her index finger in the air with a small glow to it. "Watch closely." She begins writing unknown letters in the air with a delicate grace to get movements. As she writes the letter they start becoming tangible with a yellow hue to it.

As she continues to write the letters a magic circle slowly begins to appear underneath Dustin's feet. The circle grows brighter and brighter until finally thin green vines shoot out of it and wrap itself around his body.

"Now do you believe in magic or do you need more proof?" Asked the woman standing at the podium.

As soon as she finishes saying the question the room goes cold with fear of her doing the same to everyone else.
