Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Return of the Heiress (2)

Watching her, Aiden Jiang breathed a sigh of relief. After all, to be married to the Jackson Family, this appearance shouldn't be disgraceful.

A complex expression flashed in Charlotte Chester's eyes. She glanced at her eldest daughter, Zuri Ginger, who was sitting on the sofa, and sighed slightly.

Zuri Ginger, her name means "clear skies after the rain."

Though she is an adopted daughter, she has put all her heart into her. Originally, it was already agreed that a month later, she would be engaged to the third son of the Jackson Family.

Though it's a replacement, she is gentle and composed, and the parents of the Jackson Family have also nodded in agreement.

Zuri Ginger, sitting upright, was overwhelmed with emotions and felt unable to breathe. Her hand resting on her knee slightly clenched, she looked at Mia Ginger, her eyes welling up with tears, yet she forced herself not to speak, biting her lip and lowering her head.

Beside her, Bob Ginger glanced sideways, suddenly erupted, stood up, and spoke to Charlotte Chester: "It was clearly agreed that it would be my sister's engagement with Brother Jackson, why must it be swapped to an outsider!"

"Bob Ginger!" Before Charlotte Chester could reply, Aiden Jiang, always authoritative, shouted sternly, frowning deeply, "What outsider, that's your sister."

"I don't know her." Bob Ginger replied gloomily, glanced briefly, and sat back down.

Indignant and furious.

Zuri Ginger is five years older than him and has raised him since childhood. He truly likes and respects her from the bottom of his heart, regardless of biological ties, he has always liked this sister.

Bob Ginger thought gloomily, then stood up again and spoke to Mia Ginger as she walked up: "You've never even met Brother Jackson, do you insist on marrying him? Are you doing it on purpose, to steal my sister's beloved?"

He is tall and handsome, and with one sentence, he shows an imposing presence.

Beside them, Zuri Ginger nervously tugged at his arm, Aiden Jiang was furious, Charlotte Chester pursed her lips, looked at Zuri Ginger sitting with her head down, but didn't speak for a long while.

"No," Mia Ginger looked up at him, smiled faintly, "It's not that I insist on marrying him; it's that I should marry him, no need to steal."

"You!" Bob Ginger was enraged.

"Enough!" Aiden Jiang looked down at the glaring Bob Ginger, sternly said, "Is there no order?! Go back to your room!"

"Dad!" Bob Ginger's face turned livid.

Aiden Jiang no longer looked at him, his gaze turned to Mia Ginger, and he slightly took a breath and said warmly, "If you're ready, we can leave now. Don't keep Old Master Jackson waiting; he's been yearning to meet you."

"Alright." Mia Ginger pressed her lips in agreement and stepped directly towards the door.

Behind her—

Aiden Jiang gave Bob Ginger a warning glare.

Although Mia Ginger had been lost for seventeen years, she is, after all, the eldest daughter of the Ginger Family. It's unclear what Bob Ginger's problem is, as he was quite sensible before. Since Mia Ginger entered the house, he has been continuously sarcastic, not even calling her sister once.

Calling her a country bumpkin, tasteless, low-class?

It's unacceptable that a brother behaves this way after his sister endured hardships for seventeen years; he deserves a good lesson!

Aiden Jiang snorted, flung the door open, and left.

Behind him, Charlotte Chester glared at Bob Ginger and quickly followed out.

In the car—

Aiden Jiang sat in the front passenger seat, Charlotte Chester and Mia Ginger sat together in the back. With the daughter not speaking since leaving, Charlotte Chester couldn't help but feel uneasy. After thinking briefly, she forced a smile and said: "Mia, are you feeling nervous?"

"I'm okay." Mia Ginger's delicate fingers hanging at her side slightly clenched, exerting a little pressure.

Her most anxious moment should have already passed.

It was the day she returned to the Ginger Family not long ago.

That day, the sky was gloomy, and it drizzled. She looked forward eagerly to meeting her biological parents, got out of the car so nervous she could hardly breathe, and followed the driver all the way into the Ginger Family's hall.
