One day, Shizuka wants to introduce Adnan to her family, but she is hesitant. Adnan is also very nervous. The Takamuro family, a traditional Japanese family, is cautious at first. The meal is spent silently around the table. But the family is impressed as Adnan tries to speak Japanese. At the end of the meal, Shizuka's father hands Adnan sake and says a single word: "Kokoro" – heart. This is a kind of sign of acceptance.
