Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Decision and Courage

The girl in green smiled and looked at Mary kindly. She softly said, "You haven't gone all the way through the forest. You were alone back then. But now, I'm with you. Also, what if the storm doesn't end? Whether it's big or small, it's still a storm. Can you live in it forever?"

Mary stared at her for a moment. The sound of the storm approaching from behind her was still ringing in her ears. She didn't know which path was the right one. The forest appeared dark and endless, but the storm was not something to take lightly either. She felt confused and uncertain in her heart.

"But what if it's worse than the storm inside the forest?" Mary asked with worry.

The girl in green looked at her and replied calmly, "You haven't gone all the way, so you don't know. It might be better than the storm. But you can see the storm. So, let's go. I'm tired of waiting here. When we're together and never leave each other, nothing will happen. Trust me."

Mary looked at her with doubt, but the girl's look was filled with certainty. Somehow, Mary felt a sense of reassurance—maybe she wasn't alone on this journey after all. She paused and then said, "Promise me you'll stay with me the whole way? Once we get out of the forest, we can go our separate ways, but we won't leave each other until then. Okay?"

The girl in green smiled gently and replied, "Okay. I promise."

Both of them stepped into the forest. At first, as they were together, Mary felt less afraid. She held the girl's hand more firmly and walked with more confidence. But the deeper they went into the forest, the darker it became, and the surroundings grew colder and more mysterious.

Mary began to feel that with every step she took, not only was she getting closer to safety, but also closer to unknown dangers. Sometimes, she would glance at the girl in green and feel that maybe she could stay with her forever.

But then something happened unexpectedly. Mary looked around and noticed that the girl in green had disappeared from her side. Fear suddenly overtook her.

"Hey, where are you? Didn't you say you wouldn't leave me? Where are you? Can you hear me?" Mary cried out with trembling voice.

In the silence of the forest, with only the sound of wind and branches rustling, no answer came. Mary took quick steps, shouting, "Hey?!"

Suddenly, a branch snapped under her feet. Mary jumped in fear and screamed. Her hands shook as she sank to the ground. Tears streamed from her eyes.

"I should've turned back. I shouldn't have trusted her. The girl in yellow told me to turn back. I was wrong... What should I do... Oh God..."

At that moment, two red eyes appeared from the distance. A large black wolf was closing in.

"Who are you? Leave me alone. I want to go back..." Mary said with a shaky voice.

The wolf drew closer, and Mary stumbled back.

"Leave me alone... Go away... Please..." Mary said weakly.

The wolf stepped closer, and Mary suddenly screamed, "Get lost, damn it! Go away!"

The wolf took a few steps back and stood still, staring at her.

Mary decided she couldn't wait any longer. She had to escape the forest.

Slowly, she began to back away from the wolf. She stared into its eyes and said, "Stay here. Wait for the storm. I'm leaving."

Just then, someone grabbed her hand and shouted, "Run... Just run!"
