Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: The Demon King and the Transfer Student

Before he knew it, it was time for morning homeroom. Standing at the front of the classroom was their class teacher, Mr. Zhou, the human male teacher responsible for the Federation Language class in Class 2-2.

Mr. Zhou could be described as an average human uncle, almost entirely devoid of any magical talent. However, he was a very responsible teacher, having been with their class since first grade. Unfortunately, due to his constant worrying over the class's many troublemakers, he had started to go bald.

"Now, let me introduce today's transfer student to you all. This is Zhao Shishi. Come on, Zhao Shishi, please introduce yourself briefly," Mr. Zhou said, slightly excited.

His voice cracked with uncharacteristic glee.

To be honest, it was the first time the students had seen their normally calm language teacher so excited.

It wasn't surprising, though, because the person standing next to him had quite the extraordinary background! A person of such status transferring to their school, and even specifying their class? It was almost unimaginable.

And, of course, to the eyes of the ordinary students, Mr. Zhou's excitement was 100% due to the fact that this girl was just too beautiful!

The girl appeared to be an ordinary human, with no visible traces of any mixed heritage with other races. Jet-black hair cascaded into a fierce ponytail, framing porcelain skin that seemed to glow under the fluorescent lights. Her obsidian eyes held the sharpness of a blade, her every movement radiating a regal poise that made the classroom's graffiti-scarred desks look shameful. If beauty were a weapon, she'd be classified as a WMD. Her long ponytail gave her a very energetic look.

Her skin was snow-white, her features exquisite, and every gesture she made exuded an air of nobility. She had a lively aura that made her seem out of place among ordinary people. Honestly, she was so stunning that she looked like she had stepped straight out of a movie.

At least in terms of appearance, no one could find a flaw in her. Having a classmate like her made everyone feel like they were showing off! Finally, it was the other classes that would envy theirs!

"Hello, everyone. I'm Zhao Shishi, the 17th direct descendant of the great hero Mephis Zhao, who defeated the Demon King. I'm very happy to be here, and I hope we can all create wonderful memories together," she said, causing the whole class to shift from excitement to complete confusion.

Well… If she was just a beautiful girl, many would still have various fantasies.

But once you add a shocking title like "the direct descendant of the hero who defeated the Demon King," many would probably start second-guessing everything.

The title "direct descendant of the hero Mephis Zhao who defeated the Demon King" was, well… perhaps there was no other title as mind-blowing as this.

Strictly speaking, Mephis Zhao wasn't the one who killed the Demon King alone. He was the leader of the team that defeated the Demon King. The team consisted of the best talents from various races, and Benjamin's ancestors were among them.

That's right, Benjamin also had quite an impressive background. But after a year of being classmates with him, most people had completely forgotten about his background.

After all, not only was he an eccentric in school, but it seemed like he was also an outlier in his family. Despite having excellent magical blood, he had no interest in using magic at all. Instead, he was very keen on physical training and preferred to solve problems with his fists.

Because of this, he was largely ignored by other family members, who thought his mind had been bombarded by magic. He didn't care, though. He worked at a gym while also training his body and paying for his tuition at the public school, and he was quite content with it.

Now, back to the topic at hand: after Mephis Zhao defeated the Demon King, he naturally gained the most honor and wealth in the world, and like other heroes of past ages, he married a princess. Well… a prince, actually…

After the war, Mephis Zhao married a prince from the former Tsiniya Empire (now the Tsiniya Republic) and then retired.

Unlike previous heroes, this generation used a special sealing technique, which resulted in the Demon King not resurfacing for over 700 years. As a result, a long period of peace and development followed.

Although Luo Qi still hadn't figured out exactly what happened with the Demon King, there was no doubt that because of this period of peace, all the heroes' descendants had developed very large families.

Even though some families had their ups and downs, the families of the most powerful members of the hero team had become ridiculously large, and the Zhao family was one of the most prestigious and respected families in the Federation government.

Their descendants had held positions in various political, military, and financial departments across the world for over 700 years.

Of course, there were also some like Mephis Zhao, who wandered the continent and took pride in helping the weak and executing justice.

In short, the Zhao family had produced many remarkable individuals over the past 500 years.

The key point was that the current Federation government had been pushed forward 30 years ago by a member of the Zhao family. The current head of the Zhao family was an important leader in the Federation government and was well-known among ordinary people.

If Zhao Shishi's claim was true, then she might be the only living descendant of the 17th generation of the Zhao family, and the future legal heir of the Zhao family.

Such rumors, even high school students would know a little about. After all, the hero family was a popular topic for gossip, not something ordinary citizens could ignore!

So, when the class heard Zhao Shishi's introduction, many of them were left stunned. Forget crushes—this was like discovering your new lab partner was Napoleon's great-great-grandkid packing a tactical nuke.

Luo Qi's Soul Scry activated instinctively. Golden threads of ancestral magic coiled around Shishi's wrists—genuine hero lineage, no knockoff.

After all, as a Demon King, he had always been wary of the so-called "heroic forces." Even after over 700 years, people still secretly feared the Demon King! To this day, there were ruins of battles between the Demon King and heroes around the world. Some places still had lingering magic, causing distortions in space.

So, as soon as Luo Qi made his appearance, he would likely be hunted down, and the world would once again see a vast Demon King hunting team.

Of course, whether or not they could defeat him was another story. Based on Luo Qi's estimation, it would only take a few days to eliminate all the enemies.

What was even more frustrating to him was that, through his mind-reading powers, he confirmed that Zhao Shishi really was the true descendant of the hero who sealed the Demon King. No doubt about it! She wasn't some fake or scammer.

And now, Luo Qi even knew the real reason why she transferred to this school and this class.
