As the Precinct captured a few of the bandits that had surrendered after Ross fell and as the women were escorted out of the store as the vehicles arrived to take them all home, Agent Holland who had lead the mission desperately tried to stop the bleeding along with the Precinct's medics who already resuscitated Mike twice already, they left the knife in his stomach as right now it was the only thing stopping him from bleeding out. One of the members of the initial militia Rob stayed beside Mike despite his own injuries as they waited for the ambulance that was requested for the injured men.
As each second passed Mike became more pale and the time between him regaining consciousness grew larger as he became more cold, Agent Holland resorted to using his own adrenaline stims on Mike to keep him awake, something the others protested as the stim was something cooked up in a lab specifically for the enhanced genes of the Agents. A regular human could easily overdose or worse as it was never tested for civilian use, but at the moment it kept Mike breathing at least.
After what felt like eternity Mike, Rob and Holland were picked up and taken to West Davis Medical Centre where the doctors and nurses were already waiting for their emergency patient to arrive outside the front of the building, Mike was immediately wheeled to the operating room while Rob was escorted by one of the nurses to be checked out along with the women who had already arrived and the other survivors.
Agent Holland watched as hours went by and Mike remained in surgery but finally the surgeon overseeing the operation gave Holland a positive thumbs up which he nodded in response to before heading back to Rob and the others.
Rob suffered some scars and a few fractured bones but nothing serious, the others were in similar condition. Rob stood up when Holland arrived "What's happening with Mike? He okay?" the expression of concern on all their faces as they looked at Holland.
"He's alright for now but he'll likely have to remain here for recovery." as Holland saw the relief on their face he turned to walk away but stopped with a solemn face and said without looking back, "I am sorry about the others and what you had to endure." he then left the centre presumably to report back to the Peace Corps.
All but Mike had returned to their settlement St. Peters Church and it had been four weeks, Mike was in an induced coma but remained in relatively stable health, the doctors however were concerned since he had shown symptoms they had never seen before and after the report from the officers they were intrigued to study Mike during his recovery. He had several seizures which despite how many he had was common for victims of stab wounds but what shocked them was how after his seizures they noticed his bones became more dense and his muscles became more toned. Somehow, possibly due to the already lack of blood mixing with the stims administered by the Agent, Mike had experienced a metamorphosis, they didn't know how strong he'd be compared to an Agent but they knew he'd certainly be stronger than your even special forces operating under the remnants of the government.
When Mike awoke the first thing he saw was Captain Klein one of the Precinct Officers in charge of the district. He was a scruffy fellow but he had a certain charm that made others see him as dependable. "Good to see you awake son, you've been out for a while so just sit still for the moment." He said while placing a hand on Mike's shoulder as he was disorientated and tried to frantically scan his surroundings.
"Somethings off, what's wrong with him Sanchez?" Captain Klein said to the doctor who was also somewhat confused by how panicked Mike was as officers rushed to hold him down. After being momentarily swept up in his thoughts he was forced back to reality as one of the officers found himself being thrown off by Mike who was now yelling while struggling against Klein and the others. Sanchez took a fast action sedative from his coat and quickly incapacitated Mike, The Captain and his officers all looked at Mike in surprise, "Damn, he's strong!" The officer who had been knocked over said as he but his hat back on.
"Seems he's suffering amnesia." Sanchez said followed by "To what extent we'll have to wait and see but do me a favour and get the strongest restraint we have in the basement." The officers left and Klein said to Sanchez while looking at the sedated boy in the bed, "So what your saying it we may be able to skip straight to phase 2 of the plan?"
Sanchez stared and smirked, "Hopefully so." the two watched over Mike who had seemingly lost his memories however unbeknownst to everyone was that he had been living the torture and brutality he'd endured for the past few months while comatose and the rage mixed with confusion were nearing their boiling point.
