Chapter 5 - taking a chance part 2

Chapter 5: Taking a Chance

As the days turned into weeks, Marie and I grew closer and closer. We'd talk for hours on the phone, sharing our thoughts and feelings with each other. I couldn't help but feel a strong connection with her, and I could sense that she felt the same way.

One day, I decided to take a chance and confess my feelings to her. I texted her, my heart racing with anticipation. "Hey, Marie. I wanted to talk to you about something. I really like you. Like, really like you."

I waited anxiously for her response, my heart pounding in my chest. A few minutes later, my phone buzzed. "I like you too," she said.

I felt a rush of excitement and happiness. I asked her out on a date, and she agreed. I was nervous but thrilled at the prospect of spending more time with her.

I spent hours getting ready for the date, thinking about what to wear and what to bring. I decided to buy her a stuffed teddy bear with a cute little bow. We named him Jon. I also picked out her favorite flowers and dove dark chocolate.

I borrowed my cousin Ozzy's truck and drove to her house. When I arrived, I was running a bit late, but as soon as I saw her, all my nerves disappeared. She had the biggest smile on her face, and it lit up my whole world.

"Hey," she said, looking beautiful in a yellow sundress.

"Hey," I replied, handing her the flowers and chocolate. "You look amazing."

We drove to the lake and walked around for a bit, enjoying the scenery and each other's company. The sun was setting, casting a golden glow over the water. We talked and laughed, feeling more and more comfortable with each other.

As the evening wore on, we didn't want the date to end. So, we decided to go back to her house and watch a movie on her laptop in her bedroom. We snuggled up on her bed, Jon the teddy bear sitting beside us. We watched a romantic comedy, laughing and smiling together.

As the movie ended, Marie's dad called out that dinner was ready. We reluctantly got up and headed downstairs, feeling happy and content.

As we sat down to eat, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this moment. I was with the person I cared about, and everything felt right with the world.
