After three consecutive mornings training with Might Guy, Ishiki officially became his daily workout partner.
At first, Ishiki found Guy's fashion sense and over-the-top behavior mortifying—secondhand social death. But over time… you just got used to it.
The people of Konoha were long familiar with Guy's quirks. Many villagers even greeted him cheerfully during morning drills. Everyone treated him kindly.
And so, during one of these sessions, Ishiki brought it up.
He asked if Guy could teach him the Eight Gates (Hachimon Tonkō).
And, just as he expected, Guy didn't hesitate. He shared the training method without reservation. But he also warned Ishiki—repeatedly—about the risks.
Without a strong enough body, opening even a single Gate could cause irreversible damage.
Moreover, the strength of the Eight Gates depended entirely on one's physical condition. To unlock its full power, constant extreme training and pushing one's limits were essential.
"Perseverance! Endurance! These are the roots of the Eight Gates' power!" Guy announced with his trademark blinding grin. "And youth—it's meant to be radiant! Burning! Nothing's more manly than persistence and passion!"
Ishiki had to squint against the flare of that full-wattage smile.
"Guy, you're already doing great. There's no need to elevate your speech to the point where it makes people… want to ascend to heaven just to escape it," he replied diplomatically, not quite sure how to phrase what he felt.
Guy looked confused for a moment—then lit up again, flashing a thumbs-up. Ishiki knew he was wasting breath.
"Let's train!" he muttered, giving up on rational communication.
Guy clapped a firm hand on his shoulder. "I don't know what that meant, but let's settle it like men—with a challenge! How about five hundred laps around Konoha?!"
"Hey, Kakashi! When did you get here?!" Ishiki suddenly blurted, eyes wide, pointing behind Guy.
Instantly, Guy's eyes sparkled. Kakashi?!He spun around, heart racing, mentally prepping a new duel for his eternal rival.
But… no one was there.
"…Huh?"
He turned back, puzzled—only to find leaves drifting where Ishiki had stood.
Body Flicker Technique.Ishiki was gone.
He must have something urgent to do! Guy thought. So noble. I wonder if he needs help.
Up on a nearby rooftop, Ishiki exhaled softly.
He watched Guy spin in circles, shrug, then drop to the ground and resume push-ups like nothing had happened.
Ishiki pulled a scroll from his chest pocket.
Inside was the full training manual for the Eight Gates. While Guy had shared the method verbally, the scroll offered more detailed anatomical and chakra-flow diagrams.
He wasn't planning to rush into it.
The technique relied on understanding and manipulating tenketsu and chakra pathways throughout the body.
With the Byakugan disc he'd stolen—and his growing mastery of medical ninjutsu—he figured he could integrate everything to better control chakra and enhance jutsu.
Recently, he'd learned a handful of D-rank medical ninjutsu—simple but enough to pass the upcoming Medical-nin certification exam.
But to reach the level of a top-tier medical specialist, one needed more than just technique.
One needed the ability to mold yang-natured chakra—vital for healing.
Fortunately, Ishiki already knew he possessed the Yang Release affinity. His father had told him long ago.
There was even a Kūjō clan secret buried in that knowledge—but his father had died before passing it on.
Ishiki suspected the Kūjō weren't just your average civilian line. They might've had real roots—maybe even linked to ancient clans—but he lacked the intel to prove it.
Not that it mattered.
Only a few clans in the shinobi world were known to naturally wield Yang Release. Even if the Kūjō had connections to, say, the Senju, it wouldn't change much. The Senju were famed for Wood Release, but aside from the First Hokage, no one else had ever wielded it.
Ishiki wasn't deluded. He didn't think he was some long-lost Senju descendant.
All he knew was that his family had always trained with Yang Release-based taijutsu—a style passed down by his father. It was a specialized hybrid of chakra-enhanced physical techniques, and Ishiki had never seen it in the manga.
Then again, the manga barely showcased any nintaijutsu aside from the Raikage's Lightning Style body techniques.
Who's to say other styles didn't exist?
If Ishiki had died the night of the Nine-Tails' attack, that Yang-style Nintaijutsu might've been lost forever. Renge—now a Medical-nin—was unlikely to ever pick it up.
According to the scroll, training in this art would reshape the body—turning the user into a physical powerhouse like Ishiki's father: tall, broad-shouldered, built like a JoJo protagonist, exuding raw presence and protection.
Honestly, Renge with that build would be… terrifying.
But Ishiki's father had the aura of Jotaro Kujo—and Ishiki sometimes wondered if his name, his Stand powers, and this JoJo-like heritage were really just coincidence.
If he trained like his father, mastering Yang Nintaijutsu, he might become a towering, battle-hardened figure himself.
Lean in clothes. Ripped without. A chiseled physique. Abs you could shred paper on.
Pre-isekai Ishiki used to hit the gym constantly. This was exactly his style.
He pulled Renge's notebook from his bag and began reviewing medical theory while jogging—optimizing every moment.
Time flew.
When the exam came, Ishiki breezed through it.Knowledge? Top-tier.Chakra control? Precise beyond expectation.Among all candidates, he stood out clearly.
He also met the person Kurenai had recommended.
A few years older than Ishiki.Dark, sunken eyes so severe they looked drawn on.
His name was Hyakusō. Scored well on the exam. Friendly, though clearly more mature.
By the time Ishiki officially became a Konoha Medical-nin, October had come to an end.
Late that final night, he sat at his desk, lamp flickering, poring over Renge's notes when—
[This Month's Stand Draw: Moody Blues. Would you like to replace your current Stand?]
The voice echoed in his mind—The Stand system had returned.
