Chapter 1 - A world rewritten

The end of the old world came without warning.

One moment, life was normal. The next, colossal structures of shimmering energy erupted from the earth—in city centers, across farmlands, even rising from the ocean depths. The Gates had arrived.

Then, the Voice spoke inside every human mind simultaneously.

(System Announcement)

[ i will now explain the new way that you will live by starting from this moment, so pay attention ]

[ now you are called players and these gates that you see have ten difficulties levels, and each difficulty has three sizes . the difficulties are easy , normal , hard , very hard , extremely hard , hell , nightmare , catastrophe , calamity , and overlord . the sizes are small , medium , and large.]

[ The difference between in size is in the number of monsters you will find in each gate . the small easy gate has 100 monsters and one boss , the medium easy gate has 150 monsters and one boss , and the large easy gate has 200 monsters and one boss .]

[ The normal gates , the small has 1000 monsters and one boss , the medium has 1500 and one boss , and the large has 2000 and one . ]

[ The small hard gates has 10000 monsters and one boss , the medium has 15000 and one boss , and the large has 20000 and one boss .]

[ The small very hard gates has 100000 monsters and 2 bosses , the medium has 150000 monsters and two bosses , and the large has 200000 monsters and two bosses .]

[ The small extreme hard gates has 1000000 monsters and two bosses , the medium has 1500000 monsters and two boss , and the large has 2000000 monsters , and two boss . ]

[ starting from hell gates to overlord gates, the rules change a bit cause there are no sizes in them, but inside them, there is an entire world , in hell gates there is a small world the size of the continent of Africa , the nightmare gates have a world the size of Africa and Europe , the catastrophe gates have a world the size of planet earth , the calamity gates have the size of two planets of earth , and the overlord gates have a world the size of two of planet Jupiter .]

[ in hell gates there are 20 bosses , in nightmare gates there are 100 bosses , in catastrophe gates there are 500 bosses , in calamity gates there are 1000 bosses , and in overlord gates there are 10000 bosses. the bosses in all gates follow one rule, which is they are as strong as the next gate monsters, but for overlord gates, the bosses are as strong as the combined monsters that are in the gate ]

[ There are two types of gates fixed or repeatable gates that means you can keep entering the same gate and kill the monsters over and over , and there are one time gates these gates can only be cleared once within a frame of time and if it's not cleared within that time there will be a dungeon break , these gates appear two times every month and they can be of from the small easy gate to the overlord gate but since this is your first encounter with this new system you will have 1 year to prepare . ]

[ Now for the explanation of the players, please write the description of the powers you wish to receive . note that any power that has numbers can't exceed 10 in it. ]

[ There is a status window that tells you how strong you are. These statuses are :

1 - Physical attack

2 - Physical defence

< This determines how much you can reduce from physical attacks damage >

3 - Magical attack

< Exactly the same as physical attack but in magic >

4 - Magical defence

< Same as physical defence but for magic >

5 - Agility

< Determines your speed and reaction speed >

6 - Intelligence

< Increase your mana capacity for every 5 points mana will increase by 1 >

[ You don't have any classes for now . classes can only be found after defeating bosses, and that will depend on your drop rate. The higher your drop rate, the easier you will find a class . only one class per person . there are two types of classes , common classes that more than one person may have it , and the unique classes that only one person in existence can have it and when that person dies it can be obtained again by another one .]

[Drop Rate is a fixed attribute determining item acquisition probability. It can only be enhanced through special equipment dropped within Gates—no such items exist in the System Store.]

[Players level up by killing monsters, gaining 5 stat points per level. Ability Points (for upgrading abilities) drop randomly based on your Drop Rate. Class Points (for leveling Classes) drop exclusively from bosses, but only if you already possess a Class.]

[Time Dungeons will increase in difficulty every five years. Modern weapons cannot harm Gate creatures. You have five hours to design your starting abilities.]

**(Transmission Ends)**

---

In Tokyo's Shibuya crossing, salaryman Kenji Watanabe stared at the floating blue screen before him:

[Design Your Ability]

His shaking fingers traced characters: "Instant Transmission - Can teleport 10 meters, 10 second cooldown." The System accepted it with a chime.

A New York bodybuilder created "Super Strength x10"

In China someone created " dragon transformation "

Across the planet, billions made similar choices some chose great abilities and others chose poorly .

---

Mumbai slum doctor Priya Sharma learned her Drop Rate was 8.7% when her first goblin kill yielded:

[Iron Dagger]

[Ability Point +1]

Nearby, a gangster with 0.5% Drop Rate screamed upon clearing his tenth monster with no rewards. He later ambushed Priya, demanding she farm for him—until she teleported behind him using her [Medical Precision] ability and slit his throat.

So humanity learned the importance of Drop Rate and the items that increase it.

---

The first Classes appeared within days:

London: A firefighter gained [Pyre Knight] after soloing a goblin boss, unlocking [Flame Armor] at Class Level 3.

Cairo: a boy named Amir got the [Sun God] class and killed a group of hyenas.

In Johannesburg, teenager Kato defeated a boss and got the [Blood Monarch] class which as the name suggests could control blood and used his class to control all gate access in the province.

In general players with higher Drop Rate found Classes easier than others and some even found unique classes

---

With Drop Rate items unobtainable through normal means:

Shanghai Auction House: A +1% ring was sold for three tons of rice.

Chicago Syndicate: "Rented" their Drop Rate gear at 50% of all loot.

Moscow: Scientists dissected Drop Rate items, trying (and failing) to replicate them.

---

The time gates started to appear after one year . At first it was the easy gates and with time progression higher gates started to appear.

With time passing :

Guilds started to form and they started to monopolized gates.

Governments stared to make new rules and some governments even collapsed .

Dungeon brakes happened a lot at first and with time it became less and less.

In short humanity started to adapt with these changes the more time progressed.

So basically humanity's fate hinged on three cruel truths:

1. Your Drop Rate determined your worth

2. Only Class holders could face the coming storms

3.your chosen ability determines your fate, stronger ability = better survival rate before classes.

And this is the story of how the world was before I was born into this world 10 years later or at least that's what my grandpa told me before he died.
