Lucifer frowned upon hearing Amenadiel's words.
But before he could complain about it, Satoru spoke.
"Actually, I came directly to Lucifer because I intended to choose his Divine Gift."
Amenadiel snorted in amusement upon hearing that.
"My exposition of desire...?" Lucifer asked in surprise, pointing to himself.
He never would have imagined that his nephew was so interested in his Divine Gift.
"Trust me, you don't want that," Amenadiel warned him. "Lucifer's mere presence diminishes the inhibitions of everyone around him, inducing them to reveal their true nature, their secrets and darkest desires. Worthy of the Devil, the Sovereign of Hell."
Lucifer didn't take it as an offense, smiling and adjusting the buttons on his shirt.
Amenadiel shook his head in exasperation and turned to Satoru, deciding to ignore his brother's presence for his own mental health.
"Unfortunately, I've lost my ability to control time. If not, I would show you my Divine Gift."
"Only then would you realize, nephew, that some Divine Gifts are superior to others..."
Satoru had also thought about Amenadiel's Chronokinesis, a power that involves the manipulation of time, allowing one to accelerate it, slow it down, stop it, or even reverse it.
But...
"I can already slow time," Satoru told him.
He was a Demiurgic Nephilim.
Satoru had already noticed he was not in DC Comics, but that didn't mean he was any less powerful than a true angel from DC Comics.
For example, if he had chosen to become a Kryptonian, Satoru would be as powerful as a Kryptonian from the comics, not from the movies and shows, which seem considerably weaker.
The system didn't commit this kind of deception or scam against its user.
And all angels can control time to a greater or lesser extent.
Unfortunately, Satoru could only slow it, nothing more, nothing less.
Over time, probably a long time, Satoru could strengthen his Chronokinesis.
"And I wasn't referring to Lucifer's exposition of desire," Satoru decided to clear up Amenadiel's misunderstanding.
Lucifer tilted his head with a raised eyebrow, already dreading which Divine Gift he was referring to.
Amenadiel also realized it.
"It wouldn't be a bad idea for Heaven to gain a new Lightbringer, one who doesn't rebel against Father, if possible..." Amenadiel glanced sideways at Lucifer.
There were many Divine Gifts to choose from.
For example, Satoru had also found the counterpart to Lucifer's Exposition of Desire.
This Divine Gift is called Exhibition of Fear, and it's the Divine Gift of Michael, Lucifer's twin brother.
Divine Gifts like Uriel's Probability Creation, the Messenger of God, were also on the list.
Satoru could obtain any Divine Gift he wanted.
He could become the next Angel of Death if he wanted, obtaining Azrael's Divine Gift: Death Awareness, which would allow him to know when someone was close to dying.
Gabriel's Divine Gift also seemed interesting to him.
Gabriel can perform interdimensional travel, allowing him to visit other universes.
Satoru didn't know how far Gabriel could go, although he was sure it wasn't too far.
But among all of them, Lucifer's original Divine Gift was the one that caught his attention the most.
Having complete control over fire and light seemed like a power that would be useful in the future.
And obtaining Lucifer's abandoned title as Lightbringer sounded good.
"I abandoned my Divine Gift a long time ago... you can have it if that's what you want," Lucifer told him, without objection.
After becoming a Fallen Angel, Lucifer was punished with ruling Hell, abandoning the Divine Gift that his Father had granted him.
He held no affection for what he had abandoned long ago.
Amenadiel also agreed with his decision.
Satoru, who had already waited a long time to make his choice, smiled and opened the system.
There, he quickly scanned for the Divine Gift he was looking for and, focusing mentally, chose it.
"It should be done by now..." Satoru murmured, not feeling any change.
"How strange..." Lucifer looked at him closely, realizing that nothing was happening.
"Is something supposed to change...?" Amenadiel wasn't sure either.
Suddenly, a golden glow shone from Satoru's eyes, managing to blind Celestial Beings like Lucifer and Amenadiel.
In an instant, a golden and blinding light began to radiate from Satoru's body.
From outside Lucifer's penthouse, in broad daylight, anyone could see the light.
It was as if an explosion had occurred, but instead of everything being destroyed, it was illuminated, purified...
All those who saw what was happening from the street felt warm inside, their minds cleared.
On the street, people began to behave differently afterward.
A mother, who had been scolding her son because he dropped the ice cream she had just bought him, suddenly calmed down, hugged her son, and apologized, deciding to buy him another ice cream, not without first kindly warning him to be more careful.
A man who had just been robbed at his bank's ATM was surprised to see his assailant return, giving him back his money, not without first sincerely apologizing.
The same man who had been robbed accepted the apology and offered him a job at his store.
An old man, who had been yelling at someone for asking for money, suddenly rummaged through his wallet and gave him a $20 bill.
Satoru and Amenadiel didn't realize it, but Lucifer, as the former Lightbringer, knew what was happening.
Lucifer stared at Satoru with mixed emotions, though he didn't show them openly.
"Congratulations, Satoru, for becoming God's new Lantern Bearer. Enjoy your chains." Lucifer raised his glass in the air, toasting, clearly in a sarcastic tone.
Satoru didn't care about the comment. He would never be God's puppet, a pawn in His Great Divine Plan.
A plan that consisted of His retirement...
Satoru looked at the palm of his hand, and a great golden flame appeared floating above it.
"You've chosen an extremely destructive Divine Gift, Satoru..."
Amenadiel was confused by his nephew's name, which he had finally learned from Lucifer, and subtly warned him to be careful.
"Becoming the Lightbringer is a great responsibility."
Lucifer mocked Amenadiel again when he started talking about responsibilities.
"You're such a bore... Mortality doesn't suit you, brother. Learn to enjoy your now limited life."
Amenadiel glared at Lucifer.
As a token of appreciation for his guidance, Satoru decided to help Amenadiel with his problem.
"About that, I can help you fix it..."
Satoru immediately caught the curiosity of both Lucifer and Amenadiel, especially the latter.
