Chapter 7 - Seven

I let out a loud shriek but a loud howl erupted from my mouth

my eyes widened as it transfixed on my surroundings. Everything was more detailed and clearer, I could even see the ants that were ten meters away from where I stood. My eyes blinked as my body shook with fear.Everything was only a dream. A vivid nightmare.

When I woke up, everything would be back to its normal state. I closed my eyes and tried to pinch myself but claws dug in my skin that a small whimper came out of my mouth.

I smelled blood oozing out of my skin as I opened my eyes and looked down. My right arm — front leg — had some small claw marks that were slowly disappearing and were being covered by furs once again.

I shook my head to keep myself from hallucinating; wishing to be back in my room once again. A lump lodged in my throat as I turned around and smelled the air, the nature was calling for me. The voices I heard in hushed whispers were hypnotizing and sweet that it felt so natural.

My eyes zoned out in the woods as the fear once again gnawed inside me; my skin was covered with furs that it made me want to run back home but I did not know which way to go back.

First of all, I didn't remember coming to the woods and waking up as some kind of creature that I didn't have an inkling about. Secondly, it was never part of my plan to be like this on my birthday. Lastly, I didn't have a single clue on what happened to my body.

It freaked me out.

My eyes squinted as it fell on a small clearing that was several meters away from me, my paws — or my legs — slowly walked towards it.

As I reached the clearing. I quietly looked at the water with closed eyes, afraid see my reflection and find out a monster, but I needed to conquer this fear and made something good out of it. Maybe I would just see my normal reflection and realized that I was just hallucinating.

Here it goes, I thought and counted, one, two, three...

I took deep big breaths, savoring the fresh air around me as I opened my eyes with slow movements. A pair of dark green eyes that have the hint of amber crossed gazes with mine. The white fur stood out as the long pointy ears jerked up in elegance.

What the hell...?

I thought to myself and slowly lifted my hand — paw — and brushed it in the water when a loud howl pierced through the night making me jerked upright and looked back.

There stood the most beautiful black wolf I've had ever set eyes on; considering I have never seen a wolf in person before. His eyes fell on mine as he let out a growl that seemed to send shivers down my spine. His eyes that were a pair of dark blue orbs with a hint of amber were glowering towards me in something much more than caution.

 Mate!

Something screamed at me inside of my head. The word Mate kept chanting inside my head that I felt like an insane person. It kept on growling like a vicious animal that was full of hunger; pleading and begging to be released.

Then without further notice. My body just sprang upwards and was about to collide with the big black wolf. I was acting out of instict.

God, he was enormous.

With me not understanding how I found out about his gender was a question that I couldn't answer but made curiosity sparked in my mind.

What exactly happened next was completely blur.

All I was able to conjure in my mind was that hr was now on top of me and growling like a true beast.

He tackled me to the ground before I could even clashed him fully on his back. Our eyes crossed with each other as a purr came out from my mouth when I felt his fur on mine; the softness and warmth of it enveloped me into a hug that made my insides twist in a sensual manner.

 Mate!

It once again chanted in my mind while staring at the pair of dark blue pools that kept me in place and hypnotized. The earth stopped as my breath was cut off, it was as if the time stopped moving as we kept having eye-contact with each other.

I should have run the first time I laid eyes on him for he was a creature that I feared to know about but all I felt was warmth while his fur engulfed my body. It was as if I was made to be with him, and him with me.

That's what soul mates should feel like but he was a wild animal that could kill a human any minute and I was not like him, I was a human – at least that was what I kept on believing. He leaned in as I felt my conscience kicking in for me to shove him and ran. As I tried to move my body, he did not budge nor moved an inch but simply nuzzled my neck and sniffed my scent. The small growling sound that came from his chest was turning into a soft purr of delight as he nuzzled closer and took a deep breath. His body began to calm while the purr was becoming louder and aggressive.

I heard a rushing of sounds from afar; paws dug at the ground as it came closer and that was when I knew I was in danger. The wolf had not moved away from me, keeping me cage and on a leash as he waited for the others to come. They were in a group or something.

A pack.

The voice once again murmured in my mind in a soft bark. I didn't know why I was hearing things like this but one thing was for sure.

I was getting insane, and I needed to get out of here.

I tried to shake him off when he leaned closer and bit my neck in a tight grip to keep me from moving.

It never occurred to me that a group of topless guys were already walking out from the bushes and staring at the two of us until I glanced at them on the corner of mu eyes; their eyes were staring and communicating through something.

They must be crazy for not helping me from the big bad wolf until something finally sank into my mind. The pointy ears, white fur, paws and a hint of amber in my eyes that was never there before.

I turned into a wolf.
