Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: The Once-Close Friend

Chapter 15: The Once-Close Friend

Hoàng Hải Vân hurriedly grabbed Nguyễn Thế Anh's hand and pulled him out of the house. Phi Toàn didn't chase after them. Instead, he sat down beside the bed, holding her lifeless body in a tight embrace.

Seeing that scene, her heart suddenly ached. When she was alive, why had he never shown his feelings for her? But now, she might have to rely on Phi Toàn to take care of her parents. She hadn't expected that he would be so devoted to her after all.

Just as she was about to get into the car, Thu Thảo hurried over.

"Wait!"

Thu Thảo had beautiful eyes, made even more striking when filled with emotions. Looking into them, Hải Vân could tell she was worried about something. She smiled warmly.

"You… I mean, do you have something to say?"

Thu Thảo hesitated for a moment before speaking.

"Sorry. There's something I think you should know."

She remained silent, waiting, eager to hear what had made Thu Thảo so concerned.

"In the coming days, you should do good deeds to reduce your bad karma. Whatever brings you joy, do it all. Live as meaningfully as you can—live as if today were your last day."

After saying this, Thu Thảo turned to leave, but Hải Vân grabbed her arm.

"Are you trying to say that I'm going to die young?"

Thu Thảo was startled, perhaps because of how casually she had spoken about her own life and death. Hải Vân smiled.

"I do plan to do more good deeds. Can you help me with that?"

Thu Thảo nodded and quickly pulled out her phone.

"Can I have your phone number?"

She recited her number for Hải Vân. Though, in reality, she didn't need to—Hải Vân still remembered it from before. Who would have thought that after time-traveling, she would get to reconnect with an old friend?

Since childhood, Thu Thảo had always been a bit eccentric, often saying things that frightened others. Because of that, she never had many friends. But once she became close with Hải Vân, she cherished their friendship deeply, as it was something truly valuable to her. Hải Vân never feared the morgue, so why should she be afraid of what Thu Thảo said?

Thu Thảo had practiced yoga from a young age, which had shaped her unique perspective on life. She once bragged that through extensive meditation, she had opened her "third eye" and could see the unseen.

Years ago, she had claimed she could see when people were close to death. And in the past, she had even predicted Hải Vân's demise. That prediction had led to a rift between them, making them stop speaking to each other.

Thinking back, maybe it had been Hải Vân's fault after all.
