Chapter Twenty-Nine: Loyalty and Jealousy
The Sky Fortress hovered like a sleeping giant among the clouds, its runes pulsing faintly as Crow inspected the command deck.
Near him, Lyravex — the SSS-rank support player he had captured earlier using his Divine Controller class — clung tightly to his arm, pressing herself against him without a hint of shame.
Her silver hair brushed against his chest as she smiled sweetly, her bright eyes filled with adoration.
"Master~," she whispered, voice full of affection, "Please let me stay close to you forever..."
Crow didn't respond immediately — he simply patted her head casually, like he might a loyal pet.
But that simple gesture sent a ripple through his companions.
Not far off, Seraphina — the SS-rank ghost hero — pouted fiercely.
Her ethereal form trembled slightly as she hovered closer, glaring daggers at Lyravex.
"Unfair...! Master gave me head pats first..." she muttered under her breath.
Selene, Crow's cold assassin hero, narrowed her eyes.
She leaned against the wall with her arms crossed, her foot tapping impatiently on the floor.
"Tch. Pathetic..." she said, but there was a tiny twitch of jealousy in her voice.
Even Aeris, the divine elf he had captured, stood at the edge of the platform, her snowy hair fluttering in the wind as she cast occasional side-glances at Lyravex.
Her perfect lips pressed into a thin line, betraying her calm facade.
And finally, Sasha — Crow's first divine-ranked swordswoman — looked utterly calm.
Yet the faint flicker of divine power rolling off her sword said enough:
she was irritated.
Very irritated.
Crow, aware of the growing storm of jealousy gathering around him, allowed a small smirk to creep onto his face.
All of them — powerful, rare beings that others would kill to command —
were fighting for his attention.
It was almost amusing.
He gently lifted Lyravex's chin, causing the girl to blush deeply.
"You're all mine," he said simply.
And just like that — every girl around him reacted at once:
Seraphina floated closer, eyes sparkling. Selene huffed and turned her head, trying to hide her flushed cheeks. Aeris adjusted her gloves with sudden focus. Sasha's grip tightened ever so slightly on her sword.
Crow chuckled lightly under his breath.
The empire he was building wasn't just made of soldiers and undead.
It was built with loyalty —
and obsession.
Exactly the way he liked it.
