Chapter 5 - Robin Is The Mayor’s God

The mayor was in turmoil, seeing Robin leave. After a long time, he finally saw Robin again and he couldn't let him go. He immediately shot a warning glance at old man Roy.

Roy got the memo and quickly he rushed out, going past Robin, "I will leave instead, Master Robin." He bowed a bit before finding his way out of the building.

Robin stopped in his tracks, and the mayor rushed forward, bowing his head too.

"I apologize again, Mr. Davenson." He said.

"Good. Don't cross your boundaries next time." Robin said before letting the mayor usher him into the office. They sat in the sitting area where the mayor immediately ordered refreshments, wanting to make Robin comfortable.

"So, what have you come here to do? It's an honor to grace us with your presence..."

"Haha…" Robin laughed, amused. "You didn't even know I have been in your city for three years now, do you? I commend my conservation skills then."

"Really?" the mayor was blown away. Once again, he had a new level of respect for Robin as it seemed he knew the city much more than the mayor himself.

The mayor realized he let three years go by without meeting Robin. Only if he had put more effort into finding Robin for old man Roy but then he knew that if Robin didn't want to be seen, he wouldn't.

On the other hand, Robin's phone rang out and in two rings, he connected the call.

"Speak!" He ordered.

"The contract with Kia Fashion, should I cancel it? The signing event is tonight and we have until evening to cancel the contract." Robin's assistant on the other end of the phone explained.

Faced with that question, Robin thought back to the three years he helped build Kia's fashion company. A company like Julls would never collaborate with such a small company and he made it happen because he owned Julls, a multi-enterprise company, famed under the shadow of the most powerful family.

The family that helped him on his feet when he was left dead by his real family.

Now, he had the life and death of Kia fashion in his hands, but he wasn't going to wield his power carelessly.

"Give it to her." He spoke into the phone and soon, the call ended. In his mind, that was the last thing he would ever do for Carla Kia, he had paid her enough.

However, since the signing event would be held that night, he had to attend. For the first time in years, he would finally show his face before the public and look down at everyone.

"I need to prepare for an event tonight, mayor. Can you put things in place?" Robin asked.

"Yes, sure!" The mayor nodded and with a snap of his fingers, his subordinates were already on the move.

Robin had to ride in the most luxurious car ever and he had to wear the best elegant clothes. No matter what, the mayor wanted to deliver his best.

Three hours later…

It was night time and Robin had several assistants sent by the mayor to help him. He was lodged in the penthouse suite of the biggest hotel in the city and everything he needed was ready.

He stood in the middle of the room as the female assistants squealed in delight.

"He is so handsome…" They whispered and some were even daring enough to touch him, on his arm and even his waist.

He was dressed in a dark blue suit with a waistcoat that showed off the shape of his chiseled upper body and then a white shirt that balanced his look.

The watch he had on was worth $21,000 and all the females there were vying for his attention. If he had still been married to Carla, he would have sent them all out.

Now, he saw the beauty in welcoming compliments from everyone and not being conservative.

"Let's go, Mr. Davenson." The mayor said, alongside a male driver assigned to him for the night. As they led him out he was greeted with a white Cadillac Escalade.

Robin was impressed so far with the hospitality the mayor showed and so he turned to the mayor.

"You have done well." He commended.

Immediately, a smile bloomed on the mayor's face as if his life-long will had been fulfilled.

"Don't worry, I will put in a good word for you before the board. I have seen your good works in this city." Robin promised, and before the mayor could say anything else, he got into the waiting car.

The mayor stood there, feeling like he had met his god. Robin was his god and he was going to devote his life to him.

"Quick! Let's follow him!" He ordered his subordinates and the mayor's convoy followed Robin, straight to the event.
