Chapter 8 - Local Fox Lady Sells Herself to Asian Man for 100 Million Gold Coins
Jin Yu didn't know what to think.
When Fu Tong first arrived, she thought a stupid mortal had learned the trick somewhere and got to the Celestial Fox City by chance. She ordered the guard and her retainers to prank him.
However, he had a deep pocket. He threw gold coins everywhere as he walked the street.
These gold coins—Karma Coins—were not simple in the mortal world. They were commonly traded in the immoral realms, and their value was superior to the mortal world's spirit stones. One of these coins could purchase a rare treasure or a heavenly Qi nourishing pill. Refiners and blacksmiths could craft heaven-grade weapons, using these coins as materials.
In addition, a few clans, such as the Ji Clan, reserved the concession rights to mint these coins as they were the only ones who had the access to a strategic resource in the immortal realms. Because of its rarity, its value inflated.
At first, Jin Yu thought Fu Tong was an arrogant thief, and she planned to extort all the gold from the mortal and kill him. Unfortunately, he seemed to be someone from a higher realm as he knew about her nemesis and the tamer guild.
When she invited him to the mansion's office, she tempted him and extracted some information to learn more about him and the origin of those coins. She got what she wanted, but Fu Tong suddenly asked her an unthinkable question.
"How much does it cost to buy you?"
When Jin Yu heard it, she almost revealed her true appearance and sliced Fu Tong in half. But when she saw him stacking the precious gold coins, she hesitated.
Then, he rambled about his past, which Jin Yu couldn't comprehend. She only heard the last sentence.
"How much does it cost to buy myself into your heart?"
Jin Yu was still intoxicated by the bold proposal. Reacting to the question, she randomly made up a number.
"A million karma coins."
She exaggerated the value. In reality, she only needed 200,000 karma coins to purchase top-grade pills for herself, improving the city's infrastructures, and equip 20,000 elite subordinates with heavenly artifacts. With such items, their combat strength would skyrocket, and the tamer guild wouldn't be able to bully them anymore.
Meanwhile, Fu Tong lifted his head and gave Jin Yu a meaningful look. He snorted and continued piling more gold coins.

Meanwhile, Fu Tong finally sobered after sprouting all the cringes and inwardly cursed himself for coming up such lines. He regretted trying to top her childish pranks.

Since he couldn't retract what had already been said, he decided to double down his actions. After catching the ring, he put it in his middle finger and stroked it, pretending to use it.
'How do I use this again? The game automatically summoned an inventory menu, but this is freaking real life! Dammit, me! Why were you such a poser?! Why did you have to act like an all-knowing main character from a regressed protagonist in novels?! You dumb! DUMB! DUMB! UGH!'
He inwardly screamed in embarrassment. The shame was too overwhelming that he could no longer think straight.
Because of his unstable sanity, his Qi stirred. His dantian automatically released the only Qi cell to stabilize his thought process. However, before the Qi could get to his brain, it followed his subconscious will, heading toward the finger with the dummy spatial ring.
The Qi cell found the finger and the ring. As the artifact had been crafted to absorb anybody's Qi to activate its function, the Qi cell vanished into the ring, fueling it.
The ring gleamed, and Fu Tong's subconsciousness sensed the interior of the subspace. His eyes widened. Although Jin Yu already removed his mask, he still saw a hologram of a one-cubic meter container in front of him.
Fu Tong froze and ceased all movements. His eyes stared forward in a daze as if he had been daydreaming. A second later, gold coins manifested in the subspace one after another. When the coins touched the floor, they multiplied.
The clink-clink sounds of coins echoed in Fu Tong's mind. In five seconds, the coins filled the cube hologram to the brim, and he regained his senses.
He paused and pulled his other hand away from the ring. After a moment of confusion and hesitation, he removed the ring and tossed it back to Jin Yu.
"Huh?" Jin Yu was also confused. She caught the ring and asked. "What's wrong with the ring?"
Fu Tong didn't answer. He deeply exhaled and swiped the sweat drops on his face with his sleeves.
Jin Yu puckered her lips and shook her head. She injected her Qi into the ring and unlocked it.
Then, she saw the content within. The cheap dummy ring with a small subspace was full of karma coins.
"EH!?"
In shock, Jin Yu pointed the ring to the open space in the office and ejected the coins. Gold coins gushed like a fountain, flooding the room. Based on estimation, about 500,000 coins were on the floor.
Yet, Fu Tong frowned. He didn't believe he generated enough. He wiggled his finger, gesturing to Jin Yu.
"Get me something bigger. I can't possibly give you a million gold coins using that tiny ring, right?"
Jin Yu's mouth was agape, flabbergasted. She asked him again for confirmation.
"I-I was joking. D-Do you seriously want to b-b-buy me?"
He smacked his forehead. Fu Tong knew that she misunderstood him. But since correcting her might end up complicating the entire situation, he went along with the misunderstanding route.
"Yes, I'm buying you. I want you."
"Why… w-why must you go through such length?"
"I'm a stupid man who has fallen in love with you at first sight. I'm also a horny man who wishes for nothing but making you a mother of my children. Is there a reason I can't show you just how deeply I yearn for you?"
Fu Tong almost bit his tongue speaking those lines. He hated his smart mouth and wanted to slap it a thousand times.
Meanwhile, Jin Yu's face was all red. She lowered her gaze and muttered in a soft voice.
"D-Do you love me that much?"
"Yes. I want everything about you." Fu Tong answered with a straight face, though he was so embarrassed that he wanted to jump off a cliff. His red ears also started emitting smoke.
Jin Yu was also as red as his. She stuttered. "I-If you're that determined… w-will you give me 10 million or 100 million karma coins if I ask for it?"
Fu Tong smirked and opened his palms. Gold coins dropped from his hands. "As many as you need as long as you show me your smile."
"…Then."
She stepped over the gold coins and stood in front of him. Gently, she sat on his lap and presented him with the drafted contract, which had changed its title from a trade agreement to a marriage contract.
"P-Prove it."
Fu Tong glanced at the contract. Skimming through the paper, he found nothing disadvantageous, as it was similar to the modern world's prenuptial agreements. The main idea was that both husband and wife retained the assets they possessed before the marriage in case of divorce.
However, Jin Yu requested an expensive dowry—100 million karma coins. In exchange, she promised to bear his children. She guaranteed to produce at least 10 healthy children within the first 100 years and a hundred more within 1,000 years.
