Chapter 9 - Do Not the Fox

Chapter 9 - Do Not the Fox

A night quickly passed. It was the morning of the next day.

Fu Tong stared blankly at the mansion's bedroom ceiling. Lying on a white cotton fluffy bed, he glanced to his right. A pretty woman with fox ears and nine fox tails slept soundly, using his right arm as a pillow.

Underneath the blanket, their skin touched. No clothes hindered their intimacy.

HE SCORED!

Fu Tong didn't know how this happened. He felt like a drunk man waking up to a random woman in his bed. However, this place wasn't even his home.

'I just want to complete a mission. How did it come to this?'

Next to the bed was a cabinet. On the furniture was a bag full of storage rings, which also contained countless gold coins within the subspaces. Fu Tong lost count of the karma coins he had made for Jin Yu. A marriage contract paper with his fingerprints and Jin Yu's signature was also there.

Despite the unexpected circumstances, he got some boons from last night.

His strength improved by two levels. Fu Tong also sensed 30 Qi cells swimming within him. In addition, the Qi's pathways, aka meridians, were so smooth and slippery that they felt like lubed machine gears at work.

Looking at his status menu, Fu Tong bitterly smiled as he thought about Jin Yu's traumas and the tragedy of the Celestial Fox Clans.

The reason why Starlight Tamer Guild hunted down and captured celestial foxes was due to their high compatibility with the human race—Their Qi was so pure that cultivators could steal their energy, making them perfect Qi batteries for emergencies.

In addition, celestial foxes in their human forms were beautiful and desirable for a bed partner. Even male celestial fox slaves were in high demand. Thus, these immortal foxes had become perfect multi-purpose tools, sought after by millions.

After experiencing a celestial fox himself, Fu Tong's evil desire swelled within him, but he quickly shook off the thoughts. After all, he was not the same as the protagonists of this game world.

He gazed at Jin Yu once again. Two days ago, she was a fictional game character while he was simply an old gamer. Talking to her in person seemed impossible. Looking at her peaceful sleeping face up close in real life felt surreal.

Thinking about what they had done last night, his face flushed. He couldn't believe the lady a million gamers fancied was in his arms. Elated, he reached out to touch her hair.

As Fu Tong touched her face, she opened her eyes and gently smiled.

Fu Tong smiled back. They exchanged no words, leaning closer, and exchanging a passionate kiss. Continuing what they had left off last night, they embraced.

—

It was high noon.

Fu Tong lay exhausted on the bed. Jin Yu giggled and put on her clothes, satisfied. Exerting dominance over him, she reminded him of their match's result.

"Husband, you need to work on that body's stamina."

He glanced at her while catching his breath. He wondered if he should summon a command console and edit his stamina stats. Although his arms and stomach could barely move, he grabbed a tea kettle from a bed cabinet and poured water into his mouth.

Jin Yu clapped her hands. Two masked female attendants opened the door and deeply bowed, waiting for her instructions.

"Prepare a wedding banquet. I have chosen a husband, and I have lost to him in a duel. He has the right to be with me."

"WAIT, WHAT?! WEDDING BANQUET?! NOW?!" Fu Tong was taken aback. He didn't expect a shotgun wedding. He thought they would take it slow first since he hadn't finished creating 100 million gold coins yet.

Unfortunately, it was too late for him to escape. The attendants nodded and disappeared.

Jin Yu walked to the bedside cabinet, picking the marriage contract paper on the table and plastering it on the wall in her bedroom.

Husband - Fu Tong

Wife - Jin Yu

Contract Period: Till Death Do Us Part

Fu Tong dryly laughed. He sat up and tried to reread the contract. However, as he hadn't eaten anything since yesterday, his stomach started protesting.

"Before the banquet, can I have something to eat? Also, please don't give me one of those fake food made from tree leaves, worms, or insects. I need real food."

"Of course!" Yin Ju giggled. She fetched real cooked chickens from her spatial ring and sat on the bed, feeding him. For once, they got to enjoy an intimate and romantic meal.

—

It took the foxes only 30 minutes to finish setting up and announcing their shotgun wedding ceremony.

Attendants brought new ceremony clothes for Fu Tong and Jin Yu. Masked attendant ladies escorted Jin Yu to another room to change her dresses. Another team of two servants lifted Fu Tong overhead and carried him to a grand bathroom. Although they were ladies, they washed him without showing signs of embarrassment.

After thoroughly cleaning him with oily soap-like liquid and hot water, they threw him in a hot bathtub. They brought him out of the hot bath 10 minutes later. However, the next process was ominous.

They threw chopped vegetables, carrots, and potatoes into the bath water. The used bath water earlier was poured into the bathtub, and a fox girl increased the firewood, boiling the water. Another team of cooks in white clothes entered the bathroom, but the attendants quickly put on the groom's robes on Fu Tong and carried him away.

The sinister foxes put him in a ten-meter-long palanquin. Eight male foxes in humanoid disguise lifted the wooden carriage and marched toward the city.

Fu Tong sat there, sweating profusely. He wondered if Jin Yu had tricked him once again. He prayed that she was sincere and gazed outside the palanquin.

The local celestial foxes of all ages gathered on the roadside, throwing scented plants into the carrier. One of the herb leaves landed on his face. He picked it up and sniffed it.

It was a coriander. This herb was commonly used as a garnish on Earth.

More random objects flew through the palanquin's window. Onions, mint, peppers, and even spice powders hit him.

Feinting ignorance, Fu Tong asked a nearby fox carrier.

"Excuse me. I thought you were supposed to throw flower petals at the groom. Is there a mistake?"

The male fox looked at Fu Tong and smirked. He replied.

"Nay. Thou dost bear a most delectable scent at this moment."

"…"
