Chapter 3 - His mind was his body’s biggest enemy

He followed him to a training room, there was already people in it. All going about their training.

"Alright everyone. Meet Seram."

Seram didn't say anything. His eyes scanned the room.

Whispers started, just like before.

"Is that the SSS?"

"He's the one who took three buildings, right?"

"Thought he'd look meaner."

"Heard he got paired with S. Poor guy."

Seram's jaw tightened, he could feel an headache coming up.

Kyren waved it off. "Ignore them. Let's introduce you to a few faces."

Kyren brought him over to blonde man, his abilities looked like nothing at first glance but when they stepped into where he marked, they found it hard to move.

However that was only the case for Kyren as Seram was still able to walk freely.

The man couldn't believe his eyes, right now Seram had stepped into his domain and he was still moving freely.

"I gotta hand it to you SSS clsss, you really are worthy of your names..aren't ya."

He stood up and reached out for a handshake. "Name's Osyth, Sy for short. A class Esper, ability..Domain manipulation."

Seram accepted the handshake and also introduced himself

"Seram. Pleasure to make your acquaintance."

Kyren wiped his forehead, did Seram even realize what he had done just now.

"The people who step into this domain of yours..are they the only ones who can see it? To others it just looks like a normal place.."

Osyth sighed, he had figured it out so easily.

"I guess you could put it like that."

Seram nodded as he followed Kyren, to a freer space.

"We're going to test your psychokinesis first. Put that collar on, it will help you control your ability."

Seram looked at the collar, he gritted his teeth..

What am I? A dog..

Fuck!

He hissed as he placed it on, he didn't want anyone to die because of his carelessness.

"Yo. Osyth, Eimi..please bring the items I prepared and the rest of y'all stand back for your own protection."

Seram eyes widened when he saw Eimi, she had this seductive beauty that made it hard for him to look away.

"Ah…Seram focus, most are usually swept up by Eimi's beauty, her ability is Siren's call. You don't want to fall into her trap."

Seram gulped, no wonder he found it hard to look away, her abilities made it that.

They returned back with the items and Kyren arranged them carefully.

"Alright Seram, your first test is to use your Psychokinesis and stack the glass marbles without breaking them."

Seram nodded and stared at the marbles, he had to stack a total of 26 and he had to do it without breaking them.

He raised his hand, but the position felt awkward for him so he dropped it.

"What?"

Kyren asked, couldn't he activate his abilities or did he need some kind of drive?

"Eimi..go call S.."

".."

"No. I don't need him, I just find this position awkward…"

"…"

"…"

He's even more dramatic than I thought.

"Do what you like then.." Kyren asked as he sat down, these Espers made him stand so much, his feet hurt at night.

Seram hissed, he would think of a style later..for now let's get this over with.

He raised his hand, turning it until it was facing upwards.

One by one, he raised the glass marbles..stacking them one after the one.

To them he looked okay, but inwardly he could feel his insides burning up.

Drip!

He looked down to see blood on the floor, he guess his nose was bleeding.

"Hey Seram I think it's time for you to stop."

Kyren stood up, a nose bleed wasn't surprising..it happened a lot during training but Seram's was different, his blood was coming down rapidly.

"There's only 3 left, once I start something..I must finish it..it's my personal rule."

His voice didn't shake, but his breath was shallow. He kept his gaze fixed on the marbles, fingers slightly curled upward, as if to hold everything together by will alone.

One moved, then another. Twenty-three, twenty-four, twenty-five. His blood hit the floor with a soft drip, like a ticking clock.

It was down to the last marble, Seram could feel his heart constrict at this point. His body begging him to stop.

But his mind was his body biggest enemy, while his body told him to give up, his mind kept telling him to keep going.
