A little huff of laughter escaped Silke. "You forgot charming."
"That was implied."
The warmth of the moment curled around them like the blanket.
For a while, neither of them spoke.
Silke closed his eyes, listening to Seram's heartbeat beneath his ear. "You know.." he said, "I think today might've been one of the best days of my life."
Seram tilted his head. "Because of the view?"
"Because of the peace. Because we had hours where nothing felt like it was looming."
Seram didn't respond right away. His grip around Silke tightened a little.
"I want to protect that for you," he said at last. "Even when things start to shift. Even when it gets harder."
"I know," Silke whispered. "That's why I can sleep like this."
Seram smiled. "Then sleep, I'll be here to watch over you..."
Morning came after than expected and it came even more exciting news.
Standing at the training room with Silke at 7 am, Seram yawned tiredly.
"What's gotten you all tired?"
