Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: I SAID I’m Just Here to Deliver Rice, Damn It!!

##Note: I'm not a native English speaker. Please forgive any mistakes.##

Hi, I'm Win. Just a regular food delivery rider in Nongdean City.

You click the app. I get the order. I deliver the food. Simple, right?

Some people dream of being rich. Some want the newest phone, the coolest watch, or a shiny car just to show off.

Me? I just want a simple, peaceful life.

No debt, no drama.

Simple is best.

No goal. No grand plan. Just living day by day without trouble. If I have enough for rent, food, and maybe a bubble tea now and then—I'm good.

Of course, being a delivery guy means I see all kinds of people.

"Hey, look at my house! Isn't it huge?"

"Yes sir. Very spacious. Beautiful too."

Seriously, why am I complimenting his house?

Some customers show off their phone cases like they're national treasures.

Others flirt like I'm on a reality dating show.

And yeah, there are cute girls sometimes. And hot guys too.

At the end of the day, I check my wallet… and yeah, it's the end of the month.

But hey, that's not a problem for riders like me.

More orders = more cash. That's the rule.

So yeah, I woke up at 2 p.m. today.

Let's see… order at 5 p.m.? Destination: GreenVille Condo.

Traffic's gonna suck. Time to take… the Gibraltar Shortcut.

Yeah, I name shortcuts. Don't judge.

Delivery is life.

Before that, though—

"Off to work again, Win?" a warm voice called from downstairs.

That was Auntie Mali, my landlady. She's around 55, with one foggy eye and a clear lens on her glasses. She's got a massive back tattoo that I've never dared ask about. Rent here's cheap. No curfews. No rules. Place is clean. Almost too good to be true.

"Oh, yes. Gotta make some money."

She nodded. "Back in the day, I used to deliver something too. Not food though. Let's just say it was a bit... hotter."

"Uh-huh…" I nodded politely, pretending to listen.

She always tells these wild stories about her past. Mafia deals, helicopter escapes, even once saying she trained in the Himalayas. She probably just watched too many action movies.

"You be careful. Something big is brewing," she said with a grin.

"Bigger than GreenVille traffic? Doubt it."

She laughed. I waved and hopped on my bike.

Just another normal day.

As I passed the city gates, I took in the view.

Nongdean City is huge—big enough to be its own province. It's divided into four main zones:

The Old Cultural Zone (where I live), full of wooden houses, street vendors, and grandma-powered gossip networks.

The Modern City Zone, with neon signs, glass towers, and every café trying to sell the same overpriced matcha.

The Nature Zone, all green and misty, perfect for people who think touching grass heals trauma.

And the High-End Luxury Zone. Shiny. Expensive. So shiny it reflects your poverty.

Each zone has its own mini-zones. Even the luxury zone has a slum alley or two.

Anyway, I turned into the Gibraltar Shortcut. Sky golden. Wind soft. Life peaceful.

Then—

"Hey! Who are you? How did you get here?"

"…Guess we have to take him in."

Suddenly, I was surrounded by dudes in suits. Like, real suits. Sunglasses. Earpieces.

They looked like movie agents. Or bodyguards. Or yakuza. Or all three.

I was just trying to deliver rice!

Help! Anyone! Please!

…I think I'm gonna die today.

Meanwhile, somewhere nearby…

"Target may have changed form. She's capable of full facial disguise."

"Then the man on the bike—could it be?"

"He fits the timing. The alley. The eyes are alert. He might be her."

"…She could be anyone."

"Better safe than sorry. Apprehend."

The real target? A legendary spy who could change her appearance entirely. Current status: unknown.

The man they caught? A guy just trying to deliver a hot meal.
