It was a peaceful night in the dorm—or so everyone thought.
Around midnight, the sound of stealthy footsteps echoed down the hallway. Lights flicked on and off like some kind of spooky disco.
Jin-woo was wide awake, eyes darting suspiciously toward the common kitchen. His nose twitched.
That smell. That unmistakable scent of stolen snacks.
Jin-woo clutched his blanket like a detective gripping his badge. "Noona," he whispered, shaking Yuna awake, "something's afoot."
Yuna groaned, rubbing her eyes. "It's the middle of the night. What's up?"
"The snacks… they're disappearing."
Yuna blinked, then burst out laughing. "You mean the cookies from your 'Study Group' stash?"
Jin-woo shot her a look. "Don't ruin the mystery."
Grabbing a flashlight from the cluttered drawer, Jin-woo crept out of the room, followed by Yuna, who reluctantly traded her pillow for a sense of curiosity (and the promise of snacks).
Together, they tiptoed toward the kitchen.
The kitchen was a battlefield.
Empty chip bags littered the counter like confetti. Cookie crumbs formed suspicious trails leading toward the vending machine.
"Looks like a snack massacre," Jin-woo muttered.
Yuna crouched, examining the trail. "Whoever did this has the finesse of an elephant in a candy store."
Just then, a shadow darted near the vending machine.
Jin-woo froze. "Did you see that?"
Yuna nodded. "Definitely not a ghost. Probably just Minji."
Before Jin-woo could argue, Minji popped out from behind the fridge, munching on a suspiciously large sandwich.
"Oh! You caught me," she said with a guilty smile. "I was… testing the snacks for freshness!"
Jin-woo raised an eyebrow. "Midnight snack quality control?"
Minji nodded enthusiastically. "Exactly! It's a tough job."
The three of them decided to set a trap: a plate of cookies left strategically on the table, and a recording app on Jin-woo's phone ready to catch the "snack thief" in action.
Jin-woo barely contained his excitement.
"This is like a detective drama, but with more crumbs."
Hours passed, and the trap seemed empty.
Just as Jin-woo was about to give up, the recording app buzzed.
They gathered around the phone to watch.
On the video, a blurry figure tiptoed into the kitchen — it was none other than the RA, Mr. Kim.
With a guilty glance, he snatched a cookie and dashed away.
Yuna burst out laughing. "Our RA is a midnight cookie ninja!"
Jin-woo shook his head. "I always suspected the man was too serious."
The next morning, Jin-woo confronted Mr. Kim with the video.
The RA chuckled, "Alright, you got me. But those cookies are too good to resist."
Jin-woo smirked, "How about we make a deal? You help keep the dorm in check, and we share the snack stash."
Mr. Kim nodded. "Deal."
Back in their room, Yuna teased, "So, no more mystery snack thief?"
Jin-woo grinned. "More like mystery snack alliance."
Yuna smiled. "You really know how to make dorm life interesting."
Later that night, Jin-woo and Yuna shared a quiet moment, munching on cookies and laughing about the chaos.
"Best midnight adventure yet," Jin-woo said.
Yuna nodded. "Agreed. But next time, let's try not to get caught on camera."
