Valeria Thorne was seen sitting leisurely there, with her arms crossed and one leg propped up casually.
Her present appearance was strikingly different from her school days.
Dressed in youthful and attractive attire, Valeria Thorne wore high-heeled boots with tight denim jeans and a pink crop top, exuding an aura of youthful vitality.
Ethan couldn't help but gaze at her for a few more seconds, thinking, 'Her legs are unbelievably long!!'
"Valeria... Sis Valeria?" After a sigh of relief, Ethan quickly explained, "I just returned from the outskirts of the city, went there to hunt some beasts for practice."
Of course, he didn't mention it was actually for earning advancement points. Valeria Thorne nodded, her tone nonchalant: "Not bad, seems like your gene truly does have some merits. You've already reached the Warlord level in just one day."
"Really? I am a Warlord now?" Ethan found it hard to believe.
Valeria Thorne explained, "Before, the Alaric Deer judged levels based on an aggregate score. Visit the martial hall for a test and you'll know. However, just looking at data isn't accurate. Given the same data, a Warlord who truly fought to gain his rank is much stronger than those paper tigers from school; they could probably defeat several at once."
On hearing her thus belittling the four major martial arts schools, Ethan merely nodded, saying nothing.
"Alright, you'll understand all this once you join the Apex Academy. Look at the table, your admission letter and the school communicator are there."
Valeria Thorne pointed at the coffee table.
Ethan excitedly picked up the metal box, "I received the notification so soon?"
Inside the box was a wristwatch and a metal plaque engraved with his name and number: 47327.
"Only slightly over forty thousand students?" Ethan was taken aback.
"The watch requires a drop of blood to bind." Valeria Thorne said calmly, "There's a special train to the school tomorrow night at seven; don't miss it."
"We're leaving so soon?"
Ethan didn't expect the progress to be so fast.
"The special enrollment students need a month of intensive training."
Valeria Thorne explained, "If you miss tomorrow, you'll have to wait half a month." "When does the training start?"
"In three days."
Ethan immediately fell silent.
"Go to bed already, I'll stay up here. You have to start your journey tomorrow."
With a wave of her hand, Valeria Thorne did not bother with further conversations. She took off her boots, revealing her fair feet, and boldly sprawled herself on the sofa.
Ethan was stunned.
"Sister Valeria, how about you sleep in the bedroom? I can sleep on the sofa."
Valeria Thorne's purple eyes glared, emitting a bewitching air, "Are you teaching me how to do things?"
"No... I dare not, I just thought the bed might be more comfortable..." Ethan's forehead broke out in sweat.
"Say one more word and I'll slap you."
Valeria Thorne coldly glanced at him. Ethan was speechless, and could only finish his bath and return to his bedroom to sleep.
New Tech and Morning Aftermath
Lying in bed and fiddling with his communicator, Ethan was shocked.
The Apex Academy's communicator was awesome. It had a signal everywhere, unless buried underground.
It could also be fully operated by holography. He could access online forums and shopping malls.
However, everything in the mall required purchase using points. It was exceedingly expensive, starting at one million points.
People on the forum were desperately buying up points, one point for a hundred dollars!
"Holy moly! With the conversion rate of one to a hundred, all the money I have is enough to buy around thirty thousand points!" Due to lacking sufficient permission, Ethan could only view part of the forum's content.
After Browse the forum for a while, he fell asleep.
In the middle of the night, in his groggy state, Ethan heard a noise outside.
He wanted to get up and take a look, but his body felt as heavy as if it was filled with lead. He could not move at all.
Drowsy as he was, he fell back asleep.
The next morning.
When Ethan saw the scenery outside, he was instantly dumbfounded.
More than half of the yard had disappeared, as if it had been flattened by a giant.
In the wasteland outside of the yard, there were several large pits, each about ten meters deep. Ethan looked around but didn't see Valeria Thorne, he guessed she had left.
After doing some activities in the yard and performing a few sets of radio calisthenics, he went to school.
He had to go to the Apex Academy in the evening, so he went to Sterling High School to take care of some procedures first.
Upon arrival at the school, he found that no one was in his class.
Victor and the other homeroom teachers were not in the office either.
"Huh, where did everyone go?"
Ethan was puzzled and went to ask the Principal Ashton, who was also the snack vendor.
"Get to the gymnasium quickly! I heard that the teachers from the Third Middle School brought their students for an exchange! It seems we are getting pretty roughed up!"
"Why are there so many people here for the exchange?"
Ethan wondered.
As the Principal Ashton cracked sunflower seeds, she explained, "On the surface, it's an exchange, but in reality, it's a fight. The Third Middle School has triple A-level genes than ours this year, but they don't have any S-level, so we are superior to them. I heard that they didn't take it well, so they brought people to 'exchange.'"
Ethan was furious: "That's too much! I need to teach them a lesson!"
With that, he headed for the gymnasium.
Smack! The Principal grabbed him: "Settle the spicy strip bill first!"
Ethan:.....^_^(*_*)(*_*)>.<
Inside the gymnasium, the senior high school students formed a circle.
