Chapter 4 - chapter four : difficulties of the beginning and hope for the meeting

I began working, lifting heavy equipment and boxes. Though I remained optimistic, my body wasn't built for this kind of labor. Every movement felt like a massive effort, and the weight fought against me with every step.

I picked up a large box, and an unbearable pressure weighed down on my back and arms. Breathing became harder with each step, and my muscles screamed from the strain. I tried not to stumble or rush, but time was pressing, and the employer was waiting for me to finish the task quickly.

As I moved through the crowd, my thoughts drifted far—to my family back in my old world. A deep sadness settled over me, mixed with unshakable worry. Had they also been pulled into this strange new world like I had? Or were they still there, in the world I used to know?

How were they now? Were they safe? Did they feel as lost as I did? These questions gnawed at my heart, but I tried to stay strong, reminding myself that hope was what kept me going.

I told myself, "They'll be okay. I'll find them one day. No matter how hard it gets, I won't give up."

As the sun began to set, I returned to the workplace where the man was waiting for me.

He looked at me with a critical eye and said, "You weren't as fast as I expected, and your handling of the cargo wasn't exactly precise."

I sighed and replied, "I know. I'm not strong enough yet. But I'll get better with time."

The man gave a small smile and said, "That's what I like to hear. Consistency is the key to success. Your work today wasn't bad, but you need to improve your strength and speed."

He pulled some money from his pocket and placed it in my hand. "This is your pay for the day. Rest tonight and get ready for tomorrow."

I stood there for a moment, staring at the money in my hand. That small amount meant more than just wages—it was the beginning of something new. Proof that I could face this world and rise through its challenges.

A powerful sense of pride filled my chest, as if all the exhaustion of the day had turned into hope and determination. This first step was the start of a long journey—but I was ready to take it.
