Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Prologue - Gentlemen, Hark, to This Dragon's Roar

Douluo Continent, Star Luo Empire.

A massive, palace-like structure with golden-glazed tiles shimmered with a crimson light under the setting sun.

It was dusk, and the lingering sunlight sprinkled upon the golden tiles, casting a deep, blood-red hue over the entire Duke's Mansion. The sight was faintly visible even when looking out from the city walls of Star Luo City.

The back gate on the south side of the Duke's Mansion opened silently, and a small, thin figure slowly walked out.

It was a youth who appeared to be only eight or nine years old. His figure was gaunt, and in his hand, he held a paper spill for lighting fires. His short black hair was somewhat messy, and his pale little face held a deathly stillness completely incongruous with his age.

The youth's name was Huo Yuhao. Not the original Huo Yuhao from Unrivaled Tang Sect, but a Huo Yuhao who had transmigrated from Blue Star.

In his previous life, the girl he loved had offended a group of animals online. Those dogs in sheep's clothing maliciously spread her photos under the guise of "spilling the tea" and bombarded her day and night with spam calls. Under the pressure of public opinion, the girl could no longer endure the actions of those beasts and leaped from a tall building.

Those animals used their advanced skills to erase all traces of their abuse, and the matter was ultimately dropped. But Huo Yuhao, every night as he fell asleep, could feel the girl's gaze upon him, an agonizing and heart-wrenching feeling welling up in his heart.

In the end, Huo Yuhao spent months using a false name and various contacts to track down the addresses of those beasts. In a very short period, he traveled to different places, hunting down each of those animals one by one and grinding their bones to dust. Finally, he calmly went to prison.

On the night of his execution, Huo Yuhao threw his head back and laughed maniacally, his eyes filled with blood, roaring at the world for its injustice. For everything he had done, he had no regrets!

"This world brought pain to me and the one I cherished, so I shall make the world feel pain too!"

"Let those bastards feel the pain!"

When he woke up again, he was in the Duke's Mansion of the Star Luo Empire on the Douluo Continent. He had transmigrated.

And the first scene before his transmigration was being heavily kicked by the mansion's guards.

Just as in the original novel, facing the battle-hardened guards of his half-brother Dai Huabin, the weak Huo Yuhao was utterly powerless to fight back. His biological mother, Huo Yun'er, hearing the commotion outside, ran out from the courtyard and shielded her young son with her own body, constantly begging and pleading.

In the end, both mother and son were beaten to within an inch of their lives before the two guards finally stopped.

Scenes from this body's original memories flashed through Huo Yuhao's mind.

Huo Yun'er was the White Tiger Duke's personal maid, having grown up with the Duke. Among the nobility, personal maids existed to serve their masters. Twelve years ago, on one particular night, Huo Yuhao was quietly conceived in his mother's womb.

Because she had grown up with the Duke, Huo Yun'er was quite favored by him, which earned her the constant jealousy of the Duke's official wife.

While the White Tiger Duke was away at war, the Duchess drove them, mother and son, to the woodshed behind the servants' quarters to live a life of hardship. This caused Huo Yun'er's body to gradually break down. Coupled with the constant oppression from the Duchess's servants, Huo Yun'er eventually fell ill and passed away.

Huo Yuhao was young, and his body's recovery ability was stronger. He managed to pull through. But Huo Yun'er, weakened by years of accumulated toil and illness, was left with severe internal injuries.

Two years later, filled with infinite reluctance, Huo Yun'er left this world forever.

Huo Yuhao's eyes gradually turned red. He clearly remembered that pair of distinctive dual pupils—the symbol of the Duke's Mansion's direct bloodline. And he, the Duchess's youngest son, his own half-brother, Dai Huabin, who had caused his mother's death...

Huo Yuhao spent several months, combining his expertise in chemical experiments from his previous life, using his cleaning duties as a cover to plant nearly a ton of explosives around the entire Duke's Mansion.

"It's finally done." Huo Yuhao was so excited he could hardly control himself. His whole body trembled. Wiping the sweat from his forehead, he grinned with cruel satisfaction.

"Mother of this life, watch from the heavens. I can finally begin to avenge you!"

Huo Yuhao lit the paper spill and casually tossed it to the ground. The fuse, barely protruding from the ground, instantly ignited, carrying the violent emotions of Huo Yuhao's two lifetimes as it swept towards the vast Duke's Mansion—

"BOOM—"

Just as Huo Yuhao had walked a mile away, a tremendous roar shook the heavens. A giant mushroom cloud suddenly rose from the grounds of the Duke's Mansion. The oncoming storm of wind nearly knocked the youth's thin body to the ground, but Huo Yuhao still stood his ground, spreading his arms wide and laughing with abandon.

Mother, hark, to this dragon's roar!

"Jie jie jie..." Huo Yuhao laughed with extreme satisfaction, laughing so hard that tears streamed down his face. He cried and laughed as he walked back, completely oblivious to the hot blast of the explosion tearing his thin clothes to shreds.

About ten minutes later, Huo Yuhao returned to the "former site" of the Duke's Mansion. "Ruins" would be a more appropriate description. As far as the eye could see, there were only the remains of pavilions billowing with thick smoke. Everything was in a state of utter decay, bearing no resemblance to the opulence of half an hour ago.

Mother, I did it. Did you see? Huo Yuhao gazed at his masterpiece, dancing and gesticulating, on the verge of madness.

At this moment, several black figures shot through the air from a distance and arrived before the ruins of the Duke's Mansion, all showing expressions of shock.

Good heavens, was this place hit directly by a level-nine soul tool cannonball?

The leader of the black-clad figures stood with his hands behind his back, looking at the expanse of ruins in silence, seeming to sense something.

Before long, he raised his hand and made a slight grasping motion towards the empty space in front of him. Several humanoid ethereal figures immediately drifted out from the ruins and gathered towards his palm.

"The resentful spirits of several thousand people. This is a rare delicacy. Act quickly before the officials arrive!"

"Understood!" the other figures in black responded. They took out several strangely shaped flags and were about to make their move.

Suddenly, a change occurred. All the resentful souls in the entire mansion rose into the air on their own, flying in unison towards a certain direction.

"What is this? Are there others of our people nearby?" The leading man in black was stunned. On this continent, the only ones who could freely manipulate the undead should be their people.

The figures exchanged a glance and immediately moved towards the place where the souls were converging.

At the end of the convergence of countless undead souls, a youth in ragged clothes was laughing and dancing madly. He was completely unaware that his bloodshot eyes were emitting a dazzling light, devouring all the souls that gathered towards him.

This scene was taken in by the few who had quietly come to investigate. The men in black looked at each other, and the expressions revealed from under their cloaks gradually changed from initial surprise to extreme, ecstatic joy.

"The Holy Son of our cult... has descended!"
