Cherreads

Chapter 30 - hhyt

I will be dead before you read this, but I want you to know that I discovered your secret.

I stole the real Horcrux, and I intend to destroy it as soon as possible.

I am willing to die in the hope that you will be killed when you meet your match.

rab"

Silently reading the last words written by his brother on the parchment over and over again, Sirius clenched his fingers tighter and tighter, and after a while he murmured: "Good job...Regulus, good job."

He thought for a moment, then handed the parchment to Kreacher, who was eagerly looking at it: "Take it and read it. Don't get it dirty or damaged!"

Kreacher hurriedly wiped his hands on the dirty rag on his body, but the more he wiped, the dirtier his hands became.

Audrey summoned a spring of water that landed accurately on his hand. Kreacher glanced at her and muttered, "...Thank you."

Then he took the parchment and started to cry while reading it.

Sirius waited patiently for a few minutes before taking the parchment back, carefully refolding it, and stuffing it back into the locket, holding it tightly in his hands.

"Thank you Edward, otherwise I might have to live my whole life with misunderstandings and prejudices towards Regulus."

Edward said seriously, "A hero like your brother shouldn't be misunderstood or remain unknown. When the situation in the Ministry of Magic stabilizes, Professor Dumbledore will probably apply for the Order of Merlin for him."

Sirius nodded calmly, for him, since the person was dead, this kind of false reputation didn't mean much - but if Regulus knew about this, he would definitely be very happy.

He turned his gaze back to the dark lake. What concerned him most now was whether it was possible to recover his brother's remains.

Just then, rustling sounds came from all directions.

"The flames are blazing."

Edward immediately waved his wand, releasing a huge flame that illuminated the entire cave.

The lake surface on all sides of the island seemed to be boiling.

A large number of dead bodies emerged from the dark lake. White heads and hands emerged from the black water everywhere. Those of men, women, and children, all with sunken, visionless eyes, floated towards the rocks.

Soon, they climbed up to the shore and staggered closer.

Seeing this, Kreacher shouted, "Run! Run!"

Perhaps because he helped retrieve Regulus's relics, he did not slip away immediately, but took the initiative to grab Sirius, wanting to Apparate everyone away.

"You guys go back first."

Edward rejected the hand that Sirius extended and said in front of his stunned gaze, "Most of the Inferi here are innocent people who were brutally killed by Voldemort. If no one takes care of them, they will stay here forever without peace."

He stepped forward, "It's time to set them free."

"Are you going to burn them clean with the Fiendfyre? I'll help you!"

Sirius said as he pulled out his wand.

"No, it's purification."

After saying this, Edward leaned back with his arms open as if embracing the sun. A magnificent, pure, blazing beam of light instantly descended from the sky and landed among the densely packed corpses.

Holy Light!

It is the nemesis of all filth, darkness and death.

Edward repeatedly first [Zoom in] and then used the Holy Light. In an instant, the blazing light illuminated the cave as bright as day. All the corpses illuminated by the light quickly evaporated and those that were directly hit by the light column dissipated instantly.

"Expect God to Guard!"

Audrey raised her wand, and the giant dragon guardian made of silver light reappeared, making the cave look extremely narrow. With a long roar from the dragon, the corpses fell to the ground in rows as if they were being mowed.

Sirius and Kreacher's eyes almost popped out of their heads as they watched from the sidelines. He looked at the blazing beams of light, the dragon patronus, then looked down at his wand, feeling a little bewildered for a moment:

It turns out that the dragon that launched a fatal attack on Phoenix's Dementors a few days ago was Audrey's magic. ′xi\n_t/i·a!n~x`i?x_s-..c_o!m?

Merlin, I want to report it!

Someone is cheating!

No one knew how long it had passed before the giant dragon guardian turned into silver spots of light all over the sky and disappeared. Edward also came down. After a series of attacks, the corpses in the Black Lake were basically cleared out, and the boiling lake surface returned to calm again.

Sirius silently glanced at the lake, feeling as if a lot of water had been lost due to evaporation.

"call--"

Almost not spiritual enough.

Edward looked back at Sirius. "I'm sorry, but Regulus's body might also be..."

Kreacher suddenly burst into tears, but having seen Edward's power, he didn't dare to say anything more and just wailed.

Sirius shook his head. "There's nothing we can do about it. We can't possibly find him among thousands of Inferi one by one."

He put away his wand and put the locket back into his pocket. "Shut up, Kreacher. Do you want Regulus to stay in this place forever in the form of an Inferi?"

Kreacher paused in his wailing, and said tearfully, "But... you just said... you wanted to bury Master Regulus's body in the Black family cemetery..."

"Well."

Edward thought for a moment and turned into a walking stick. "How about... I try the Divining Wand technique again. Maybe Regulus is not in the Inferi just now..."

"Da da da."

Before he could finish his words, the sound of crisp footsteps came from the darkness.

Edward immediately pulled Audrey to his body, and everyone was instantly cast under the amplified Armor Spell.

"Da da da."

Ripples appeared on the calm surface of the Black Lake, slowly approaching from a distance, but nothing could be seen in front of us.

Edward Audrey was startled and activated his spiritual vision at the same time.

I saw a gray-black creature walking lightly on the lake. It had a pair of long, curved horns and a relatively protruding nose.

This is...

A crooked-horned snorkeller?

It stopped about seven or eight meters away at this time, and swept its long tail lightly. A vortex like a black hole appeared behind it. The next second, translucent figures rose from the lake - they were the souls of those corpses!

These souls, with relieved smiles on their faces, rushed towards the black hole. Occasionally, some would stop for a short while and then bow to the two to express their gratitude.

Edward and Audrey were shocked at this moment: This "Curved-Horned Snorkeller" was really the messenger of the dead? !

Could the black hole behind it be the world of the dead - the underworld?

"You...what did you see?"

Although Sirius couldn't see anything, his intuition as a wizard allowed him to vaguely feel something.

"It seems that the messenger from the underworld is taking away the dead humans..."

"A messenger from the underworld? The god of death?"

Edward shook his head: "I don't know, but I think...the Grim Reaper shouldn't look like this."

Soon, the souls of the Yin corpses became scarce, with only three or two appearing every few seconds.

The "Curved-Horned Snorlax" turned its gaze to the three people on the island, and stayed on Audrey in particular for the longest time. Its pupils, which clearly showed wisdom, emanated a faint glow.

At this time, a young man with black hair emerged from the lake. He looked a little thin, with a bright smile on his face.

After he appeared, he also headed straight for the black hole, but he suddenly stopped in mid-air, his eyes swept past Edward and Audrey, and looked at Sirius and Kreacher, with surprise flashing in his eyes.

Then he looked back at the Crooked-Horned Snorkeller, and after seeing it nod, it floated towards the island and fell weightlessly.

Sirius was frowning and looking at the air in front of him. Suddenly, he saw Edward and Audrey looking back at him at the same time, so he asked in confusion, "What happened again?"

"I think..."

"Regulus is coming."

"What?!"

Kreacher staggered forward at this time, "I... I felt it, I felt Master Regulus... Yes, he is here!"

He carefully stretched out his hand, trying to touch the invisible Regulus, but could only touch air.

"Master Regulus..."

Audrey thought for a moment, then hesitantly said to the Crooked-Horned Snorkeller, "Excuse me... can you let them see him?"

Da da da.

The Crooked-Horned Snorkle walked on the water and came closer. Then, a light flashed in its eyes, and Regulus' soul suddenly had a faint glow.

In the sight of Sirius and Kreacher, the younger brother (master) who had disappeared for a long time and died for a long time gradually appeared before their eyes.

"Master Regulus!!"

Kreacher rushed forward crying.

"You did a great job, Kreacher. You lived up to my expectations."

"Woo woo."

Regulus stretched out his translucent hand and tried to pat Kreacher on the head, but he could only pass through his body.

Then he looked at Sirius again: "Is Voldemort defeated?"

"Well! He was defeated by James' 1-year-old son, my godson."

Regulus was slightly startled, then laughed and said, "That's ironic. However, he made several Horcruxes, which means he has several lives."

"Don't worry, his Horcruxes have been found."

"That's good."

Regulus smiled, "That's good."

Sirius' eyes were slightly red - the person in front of him was his only relative in this world. They used to be good brothers, until they parted ways due to different ideas. When they met again, they were already separated by heaven and earth.

"I didn't disappoint you, did I, Sirius."

"Of course not. It's me...who disappoints you."

Sirius clenched his fists. "If, if I was with you at that time, we would have a better way, and you would not..."

Regulus listened to his brother quietly, "I know, I know everything."
