Chapter 0.5- Auxiliary Chapter

Hello! I'm RaikkaSei! Call me Sei for short! First of all, thanks so much for the interest! I'm very excited to share this with everyone here. This is not the first chapter, but a list of information that will be mentioned in the story itself. If there is any art, they will be made by me, except when it is said explicitly that it's not and will be found in comments. All information will be explained in time as the story progresses, and if you would like to know them as they come, feel free to skip this and go forwards to Chapter 1. Otherwise, feel free to continue here! ^^

1. Mana

- The biggest staple in every fantasy book. The bread to a butter, if you will.

- Mana Reserve is Categorized from letter Z to A, Z means none and A means highest (as of now)

- There is no one who is Category S, as it was the category used way back in time as the highest. It is being debated if this will be used as the highest again.

- Mana Reserves is tested four times through a person's lifetime: ages 7, 15, 23 and 30

- Each test is categorized within 4 ranks, 4 to 1, 4 is Untrained, 3 is Low Intermediate, 2 is Intermediate and 1 is Matured. All people reaches their highest potential at age 30, and it is very possible to still have a low Category letter even at that Matured rank since improvements for mana reserve can be limited.

- Quantity of Mana depends on the person's heritage, not bloodline. Usually, doesn't matter in the younger years, but definitely something that can be used as privilege, such as if the person is a direct Oeglinn or Daeglinn descendant, they usually have more mana reserves.

- It is everywhere, in the air, the sunlight, the moonlight and the food being eaten. However, mana in the air is weaker in the morning than in the evening.

2. Races/Species

- Sapiens(say-pee-en): These are the pure humans that did not contain any Oeglinn or Daeglinn heritage. They are very few, and sometimes precious. They are highly susceptible to mana as if it is poison. Think of albino in real life having really bad reaction to the sun. They can still live in this fantasy world, but they cannot leave their houses in the evening. They are often found in islands that do not have or less the influence of mana in the air and water, which means they do not have any abilities either. They are vastly outnumbered now, and slowly dwindling in number. An almost extinct race, really.

- Himeallns (hee-mah-lens): These are the modern sapiens that were able to adapt to the mana-rich environment. They develop an extra limb or body part that was the result of their adaptability. Sometimes, they just look like pure sapiens, and their difference is really their ability to survive surrounded by mana throughout the day. These are what most of the characters in the story would be.

- Oeglinns (oug-lens): These are the first half of the precedent generation of Himeallns. They were the earliest version, but they were not born, they were modified sapiens. Their heritage is strong enough that their offspring is automatically Oeglinns until centuries or even millennials worth of generations. They may appear like a regular sapiens since they can hide their horns, which comes from their head and curves to meet the other end, forming a circle.

- Daeglinns (dey-glens): These are the second half of the precedent generation of Himeallns. They are also modified sapiens. They are like Oeglinns, the only difference is their appearance. They may also appear like regular sapiens but they have series of lines from their neck and chest, almost reminiscent of gills from fishes or underwater animals.

In summary for no. 2, almost all characters to be encountered will be Himeallns, unless stated otherwise ^^

3. Bloodline vs Heritage

- Bloodline is the immediate family members and close cousins or just direct generations.

- Heritage is when the person is very far in branch, roots or generation from the ancestor.

- These may be interchanged by characters in the story because of their personal beliefs. But the description here is what I will be following ^^

- Bloodline or Heritage doesn't automatically means person will look similar to the another family member. Some features might appear on one and doesn't on the other.

4. Abilities

- If Mana is the bread, Abilities is the butter.

- Abilities allow creation or molding of a certain object

- These aren't categorized by strength but by the type: Elemental, Artificial and Non-linear.

- Elemental: Things that can be found in nature. The list only includes water, fire, air, earth, light and dark

- Artificial: Things that are man-made or some elemental mixtures. Some examples are: chains, lava, wood, etc

- Non-Linear: Those that aren't elemental or artificial, they are all Non-linear examples are: summoning, invisibility, teleportation, space etc

- Person's ability is not recorded until Low Intermediate rank.

- Usually shows up before the first test for mana reserves, but could be delayed until before Low Intermediate, hence the late recording.

5. Aura

- This is just how mana appears for those looking. It may look like transparent flame surrounding a person. Inner color depicts heritage:

- Oeglinns have orange

- Daeglinns have green

- Himeallns have violet

- While Outer colordepicts ability type:

- Elemental has blue

- Artificial has yellow

- Non-Linear has red

- It can also show signs of abnormality in a person's status, such as if poisoned or unconsciousness. A person with no aura means either dead or sapien.

- Any non-humanoid will appear to have different inner and outer colors than the humanoid ones mentioned. Usually dependent on their origin.

6. Brief History

- The world is called Yaedrial (yey-dree-al). It's a spherical world that has more water than land. Though there are a lot of islands around, the world has two big, main landmasses, the north, Aquitt (ah-quit) and the south, Saqrine (sack-reen). There are a few minor landmasses but those are the main two.

- Most towns or villages that are small enough than a city will be named by what their village usually provides, so there will be common town or village names like paper, wheat, corn, etc.

- There was a 3-hundred year war in the past, which will be explained more as the story goes but it is what paved the path for the categories and the testings done on the ages mentioned earlier.

- How Oeglinns and Daeglinns came to be will also be explained in the story in the future.

That's about it. Oh dang, that's a long one! Thank you for reading this! Hope you have a great one! RaikkaSei out for now~ ^^
