Chapter 23 - Chapter 24 — Through a Father's Eyes

Kang Woo landed lightly on a crumbling spire deep inside the twisted dungeon.

From up here, he could see everything.

Rotting castle ruins stretched far in every direction.

The walls twisted, flickering between solid stone and shifting darkness—as if the place didn't belong in Earth's reality.

> This dungeon... it isn't from this world.

Still, his eyes narrowed only on one thing—the two figures below.

---

He Closed His Eyes. Mind's Eye.

Golden energy laced across his temples as he activated a familiar technique.

> Search...

Dozens of mana signatures blinked in the air like stars.

Weak beasts. Crawlers. Low-tier demons.

He passed them by.

Then—there.

Two distinct energies.

Not as strong as they should be. Not nearly refined. But they burned steadily, side by side.

> Found you.

---

The Children

He stood atop the ledge and opened his eyes again.

Far below, in what once might've been a throne hall, his son and daughter stood back-to-back.

His son wielded a long crimson glaive, his movements wide and aggressive.

His daughter, smaller but quicker, held twin daggers crackling with lightning.

They breathed heavily.

Bruised.

Wounded.

Still fighting.

---

Their Enemy

A demon knight stood before them.

Tall as three men, its body encased in armor carved from shadows and bone.

Green fire burned from the slits in its helmet.

It dragged a massive, chipped blade, letting it screech across the broken floor like claws on stone.

Then it spoke—voice echoing across the ruined hall.

> "You lowly humans... crawling into a king's domain."

> "I, Lord Drakas, shall grant you death with mercy."

> "Kneel."

---

The son raised his glaive.

> "We're hunters."

> "We don't kneel."

The daughter smirked, flipping a dagger.

> "Try and make us."

The demon paused.

Then grinned beneath its helm.

> "So be it."

---

Kang Woo… Observes

Above, Kang Woo stood still.

Wind tugged at his sleeves. His eyes never blinked.

He didn't draw his sword.

He didn't descend.

He simply watched.

Every movement. Every strike. Every mistake.

> They rush in without baiting an opening...

> They rely on power bursts instead of conserving stamina...

> They don't fight to kill — they fight to win. That's the flaw.

His gaze sharpened.

> "This is not a game," he whispered.

---

But he didn't move.

Not yet.

> "Let's see... if they learn before they break."
