Chapter 30 - Chapter 31 — Hajin’s Shadow

The room was silent as Kang Woo stared at the photo one last time.

The man frozen on the 77th floor — Hajin Wu.

His brother. His first disciple. His only family in Murim.

Dead. Or so he believed.

Until now.

Kang Woo placed the image gently on the table and stood up.

> "I need to go to that tower."

Min Seok's brows furrowed.

> "You… want to enter the Tutorial Tower?"

Ji Hoon looked at him like he'd lost it.

> "Dad, you can't just waltz in. It doesn't work like that. You have to enter from floor one and—"

Kang Woo interrupted.

> "No. You misunderstand."

> "I'm not climbing the tower."

He smirked.

> "Do I look like the type to follow rules?"

---

Stunned Silence

Min Seok blinked.

> "...Then how the hell are you going to get in?"

Kang Woo asked calmly:

> "How high is the 77th floor?"

Min Seok typed something on his desk terminal.

After a moment, a hologram popped up showing tower floor altitude charts.

> "The 77th floor is… approximately 200 kilometers up."

> "It's already in the stratosphere. Nearly breaching space."

Ji Hoon raised his hand halfway.

> "Uh… are you seriously planning to fly up 200 kilometers?"

> "With no oxygen?"

> "Through dozens of reinforced tower barriers?"

Kang Woo looked out the office window, where the black spire of the Tutorial Tower pierced the horizon in the distance.

His tone was dead serious.

> "I've flown farther."

---

Min Seok Clutches His Head

> "You're insane…"

> "Even satellites can't track anything past floor 50. That thing repels mana, electricity, radio—!"

> "And you're talking about breaking in at floor 77?"

Kang Woo stretched his shoulders like he was warming up.

> "If Hajin's really in there…"

> "Then I'm coming to get him."

> "Wall or no wall."

He tapped his chest lightly.

> "They call it Tutorial Tower."

> "But to me?"

> "It's just a house with no door."

Kang Woo turned away from the window.

His expression was calm—unbothered. But his eyes had that dangerous glint.

Min Seok and Ji Hoon were still frozen, processing his insane plan.

He finally broke the silence.

> "I told you both this secret…"

> "Because I trust you."

Ji Hoon blinked.

> "Secret?"

Kang Woo glanced to the side.

> "And that girl who's been peeking through the glass door for the last ten minutes…"

The door creaked open.

Claire stepped in sheepishly, holding her tablet close to her chest.

> "S-sorry, Chairman. I didn't mean to—!"

Kang Woo cut her off with a casual wave.

> "No need to apologize."

> "You'd all find out sooner or later."

> "Because…"

He stood up straight and let the room fall silent again.

His voice dropped:

> "I have reached Godhood."

> "Not a metaphor. Not a figure of speech."

> "I am… quite literally, beyond the realm of mortals."

Min Seok burst out laughing.

> "Okay, okay… now you're just flexing—"

> "I'm invincible."

They all stopped.

> "I don't age. I don't bleed. I don't die."

> "Rules don't apply to me anymore."

> "I don't need systems. I don't need gates."

He raised his hand and pointed a finger casually out the wide office window toward the sky.

> "You don't believe me?"

---

A Finger Flick Heard by the Sky

Flick.

A tiny ripple snapped from his finger.

It was subtle—just a puff of Qi, no more than a whisper.

But outside?

The clouds over the entire city suddenly vanished.

Sky cleared in an instant.

Blue stretched from horizon to horizon like the world itself bowed to him.

Even the birds stopped mid-flight and scattered.

Wind bent away.

Silence thundered in the room.

Claire's tablet clattered to the floor.

Min Seok slowly turned back to him, pale.

> "...You weren't joking."

Ji Hoon's jaw was slack.

> "Holy... sh—"

Kang Woo sat down again, sipping the cold tea as if nothing happened.

> "I told you."

> "Rules don't work on me anymore."

> "That tower?"

He smiled.

> "It's going to learn that too."

The silence after the cloud-clearing stunt still lingered like static in the air.

Claire looked like she was about to faint.

Min Seok was rubbing his temples, whispering, "This is above my pay grade," despite being the chairman.

Kang Woo, on the other hand, simply set his teacup down and let out a satisfied sigh.

> "Tastes better when you terrify the sky first."

Then came Ji Hoon's voice, hesitant but full of curiosity:

> "So, uh… Dad."

> "How exactly are you gonna do this?"

Kang Woo raised an eyebrow.

> "Do what?"

> "Enter the tower. Are you going to… like…"

Ji Hoon scratched his head.

> "Are you gonna create a gate through the 77th floor?"

> "Or…"

He paused, then asked with a completely serious face:

> "Are you just gonna cut the tower in half?"

Everyone turned to Kang Woo.

Even Claire leaned forward just a bit, wide-eyed.

Kang Woo tapped his chin, thoughtful.

> "Hmm."

> "That's a good question."

He looked at Ji Hoon and smiled faintly.

> "Both sound fun."

Min Seok nearly choked.

> "DON'T CUT THE DAMN TOWER—do you know how many global treaties are tied to that thing?!"

Kang Woo shrugged.

> "Then I'll make a polite entrance."

> "Right after I knock."

Ji Hoon raised a brow.

> "Knock?"

Kang Woo's eyes twinkled with divine mischief.

> "Yeah."

> "I'll knock so hard... the entire tower will answer."
