Vroom! Vroom! Sounds of engines clashed as they were about to reach the last lap, the 45th lap.
19 year old Kaito Ren overtook his 14 year old little sister, Mikasa Ren, in a video game.
Little Mikasa tried to gauge the distance between them, but Kaito did not allow it. He sprinted even further, making the distance between them even bigger.
The final moments were near, and Mikasa did not lose any hope in winning.
She pressed her accelerator more efficiently, passing through every CPU. She moved from position 13 all the way to position 2.
She closed in on Kaito, but then Kaito said, "I think it's time I stop joking around with you."
Kaito left Mikasa in the dust and gave her a 3-minute time interval before he finally won.
"Ow man, you beat me again, big bro. It's not fair. You're just too good." Mikasa complained.
"Yeah, you got that right. My racing skills are unmatched, and nobody can beat me." Kaito said.
"Man, you really are an egoist. Anyway, shouldn't you be practicing cause tomorrow you got an interview with the biggest Grand Prix crew in Tokyo, the one and only Shinsei GP team." Mikasa said.
"Practice, I don't need to practice, I've practiced more than enough at school. The Shinsei GP invited me themselves cause they acknowledged my talent and skills." Kaito said.
"And all the other people that applied or were invited for the job are all just amateurs. I know what you were going to say." Mikasa stated.
"Huh, you know me so well."
"Kaito, Mikasa, it's dinner time." A voice came from upstairs. It was their mother, Hikifune Ren.
Kaito and Mikasa quickly left and went upstairs to eat. Their mother's food was mouth-watering.
They quickly sat down the table.
Mikasa looked around, and she didn't see their father, so she asked," Hey mom, where's dad?"
"Your father might not join us today. He has a night shift at work," She responded.
"Hello, family." A voice came from downstairs. It was the voice of their father Sato Ren.
He went upstairs and set down with them.
"Dad, aren't you supposed to be at work. Don't you have a night shift?" Kaito asked.
"Well, I did, but I talked to my boss, and he allowed me to come and spend the night here. I couldn't miss this night, the night before your interview." Sato said.
"Well then, let's enjoy this feast." Their mother declared.
After the feast, Kaito went to bed early so he could conserve his strength for the interview tomorrow.
'I will become the next Grand Prix champion, I'll follow in your footsteps. No, maybe I'll be even better than you.' Kaito thought before he closed his eyes and went to sleep.
In a flash, birds started singing, the trees woke up, and the sun shined on the land with a warm blaze. It was morning.
"Kaito! Kaito! Kaito!!" Mikasa shouted, waking him up.
"Big bro, you're late, your interview us at 10:00, and right now, it's 09:30." She continued.
"I'm not late. Actually, this is the earliest I've been in my whole life." He said before he rushed to the bathroom and started bathing.
He finished bathing, eating, brushing his teeth, and combing his hair in 10 minutes. He then rushed to the Shinsei circuit core, the headquarters of the Shinsei GP team.
He reached there quickly with 5 minutes to spare.
"Whew, I made it in time, good." He said as he was standing outside the gate.
The Shinsei circuit core, we're truly magnificent, it was a giant warehouse that had a circle race track of 200km in the front yard.
"Man, I'll never get used to how magnificent this place is." He said, amazed.
"Same here." A man standing next to him said.
"Who are you?" He asked.
"Who me. I'm here for the interview. My name is Noah. And who are you?" He asked he took out his hand in order to shake with Kaito.
Kaito stared at Noah for a while before he finally said, "My name is Kaito Ren."
"So you came here for the interview as well?" Noah asked.
"Came her for an interview. No, I already got the job." Kaito confidently said as he entered the gate, and Noah followed.
"So which GP high school did you go to? I went to Smithville Academy." Noah asked.
"I went to the Tokyo GP Academy, and I was the best there was, I crushed everybody." Kaito bragged.
They reached the giant warehouse, and when they opened the door, they saw other recruits. There were a total of 15 of them.
'So these guys are my competition. There were thirteen of them in the warehouse, and if you add me and Noah, that makes a total of 15.' Kaito thought.
"Welcome all of you. My name is Shisou, the founder of the Shinsei GP team. I founded this team 10 years ago, and from there, we only had one driver. But now we have decided to hire a second driver." Shisou explained.
"Yo rookies, my name is Shinji. I'm the original driver, and I can't wait to see my partner, we're gonna train in this track all day." Shinji said as he was excited.
"This is Shinji, my very first driver. Now then, I would introduce the rest of the team, but I'll only introduce it to the new driver." The boss said.
"So boss, how are they gonna do this?" Shinji asked.
"I have the perfect way to get a new recruit." The boss said as he led everyone outside.
"Your Academy scores, points, certificates, and credentials all don't matter here. What matters is if you can drive or not." The boss said.
"You guys will do 20 laps here, and no.1 will become a member of the team." The boss declared.
Yeahhhhhh!! The recruits shouted in excitement.
"Now then, everybody get in a car and get on your marks." The boss said as he opened his garage and the recruits saw a mountain of formula 1 racing cars.
Everybody went and got inside one of the cars and went to a starting point.
Noah was at P7, and Kaito was at P13.
"Now then boys, on your marks, get set, GO!" The boss declared, and Vroom!.
Kaito easily overtook 4 drivers, and he became no. 9.
He revved up his engine more, passing through no.8 as well.
A lap 9, Noah was no.4, and Kaito was no.6. At no.1 was a girl.
The race continued, and at lap 16, Noah was already no.2.
Kaito deliberately decreased his speed, and he became no. 10.
At lap 18, Kaito revved up his engine. "The real race is about to begin." He said.
Vroom!Vroom!Vroom! He passed through 6 drivers in an instant, and he became no.4. The boss and Shinji were shocked.
Racer no.3 looked at his side window and saw Kaito gaining up on him.
"What the hell! That guy was no.10. How did he gauge the distance so fast? It's so unreal, and it's not possible. This guy..." Racer no.3 said, and he remembered something.
'He went to Tokyo GP Academy, that guy, he is the one who is said to be, The Demon on the track.' Racer no.3 thought.
The race was at lap 19, and Noah was now no.1, Kaito quickly passed no.3 and no.2.
Noah looked at his side windows as well, but he was shocked to see Kaito.
Kaito closened the distance between the two of them, and both of them were in a tie.
Noah speeded up more, but he could not leave Noah. They were in a tie until they reached the last lap.
"Yo Noah, you've been entertaining, but it's all over now." Kaito confidently said as he revved his engine to the max.
Noah was left in the dust, and Kaito won the race.
