Days kept going on and I was pushing myself more than I ever had. The month of the holiday was about to end and so were my practices in engineering and karate.
I was still missing out on something, what was it? Oh yes, I also had in mind to visit Rehan and spend some quality time roaming around in the places I wanted to be.
The karate session will end by tomorrow and the engineering session has already ended. So, after tomorrow I will have three days to enjoy. I went ahead and dialed Rehan and we decided on a plan. First, we would climb the same mountain that we climbed the last time. Don't tell me you forgot which mount. I don't remember the name but it was that mountain where we found Jkas and Fariya.
I had pulled out to follow a timetable this month; yes I was a routined young gentleman. Oh Yes! The word gentleman sounds so creepy. Ignore the 'Oh Yes!', I have somehow found myself building a habit for that.
"Oh Yes! Ha ha!"
Ok, I won't be using that word anymore but yes I did develop some odd habit. That friend of my father who was responsible for teaching me engineering just had this habit, every time he witnessed someone properly doing his work he would be like 'Oooh Yes!'
OK, I promise I won't repeat it, and nor should you. I left for karate and to be honest, it was not like I had completed karate or engineering in less than a month but I had taken the first step and during this period I discovered more about myself, for example, I did not like thinking in my educational departments but I loved learning about these subjects, practically.
It's fun learning about something rather than coming or studying about it. Tayab was also busy learning about market behaviors or something like that so I could not meet him often I decided to offer him to join us but he rejected. I guess it was quite obvious that he did not enjoy the company.
I met with Rehan and his family soon. We decided to leave for our trip the same day due to time constraints. We started by climbing on the mountain, but this time around we would explore more. I had heard that there was a shrine on the other side of the mountain, prompting us to venture in that direction this time.
Once we reached the top, it was already noon. We headed straight for 'The Zinks' and ordered some food to eat. Also, reunited with Sabi and Jkas. They were both happy and in good health. We later spent the night smoking and engaging in nonsensical conversations. I was excited to visit the shrine and the ancient city. The next morning we woke, had breakfast from 'The Zinks' obviously and headed out to our destination.
During the journey, I was also discussing with Rehan what path should I choose as the universities would be starting soon. Rehan advised me to pursue a subject that I was interested in and I guess I was doing the same.Soon we stopped at a river, it was amazing or maybe stunning, who knows? The cold water flowed swiftly, housing fishes that I could barely take a glance of due to the fast flow of water but, Rehan and I decided to catch some fishes but eventually achieved nothing. We passed by the river soon and kept moving onward with pure pathetic eyes.
Eventually, we reached the shrine. The shrine had a history and it was a beautiful one. Oh, you're waiting to know the history? I don't remember, but the land here was said to have reached the peaks of civilization about 1500 years ago. Legend has it that this civilization was the first to make explosives and had a profound understanding of light reflections.
Me: "This looks amazing!"
Rehan: "It sure does. The kings that had ruled this land must have been lucky."
Me: "But were not they buried alive?"
Rehan: "Leaving that part."
Me: "Oh yeah!"
Well, the king who ruled here was a kind man, but eventually, his kindness became a weakness. The king used to agree upon to almost any task requested by his citizens. And as you may have guessed, not all citizens are good citizens.
A group of people become royal to the king, not royal but rancid royal. They started to manipulate the king until the king announced being immortal, until he was willing to witness bloodlust, until he was greedy.
The royals of his kingdom slowly but surely were corrupting to their soul and when they had all rooted in grasp they turned the entire populace against the king and he was buried alive.
Me: "The so-called immortal king is somewhere dead in this rubble of a once-known great city. Not so immortal, after all."
Rehan: "Indeed, he wasn't immortal, but his actions were l. He described what being kind results in. I believe that his body may be dead, but his actions aren't."
