Chapter 320: Three Top-Tier Devil Fruits
Just the first chest had yielded a rare Logia-type Devil Fruit.
Charlotte could hardly wait to open the remaining two.
He gently placed the Mercury Fruit aside, then picked up the second chest and flipped open the lid. Inside, a purple-red banana came into view.
Its patterns were chaotic and dazzling—just looking at it made one's eyes spin.
Beside it lay a familiar slip of paper—probably left by the Eight Treasures Navy for future generations.
Now, it belonged to Charlotte.
> "Paramecia-type: Illusion Fruit. Grants the power to create illusions."
"Hahahahaha! Another top-tier Devil Fruit!"
Just by the name alone, Charlotte could tell this one wasn't simple.
Illusions—a word filled with boundless potential.
The upper limit of this fruit's power was extremely high.
Anything grouped with a Logia fruit was bound to be formidable.
Charlotte's treasured collection had just gained another gem.
Setting the Illusion Fruit aside, he looked at the final chest.
Opening it—
Another banana-like fruit revealed itself, but this one was earthy yellow, giving off a heavy, powerful aura at first glance.
Most peculiar were the raking claw marks on its surface—as if some wild beast had torn through it—and its arm-like shape, resembling a predator's limb. It radiated pure strength.
He picked up the note inside.
> "Zoan-type: Mythical Beast—Kirin Fruit. Grants control over earth and elemental forces. A truly extraordinary Devil Fruit."
Charlotte raised the thick, weighty banana in his hand, eyes shining.
Three chests, three Devil Fruits:
Mercury Fruit (Logia)
Illusion Fruit (Paramecia)
Kirin Fruit (Mythical Zoan)
It was as if all three categories of Devil Fruits had been delivered to him in their most elite forms.
The Eight Treasures Navy really had been rich. No wonder they'd lasted for centuries.
These three top-tier Devil Fruits thrilled Charlotte more than the 100 billion Beli worth of treasure he had just unearthed.
"Hahahahahaha!"
Charlotte's booming laughter echoed across the ice, shaking the surrounding glacier.
—
"Dad! What did you find?"
Caesar ran over upon hearing the laugh, only to see the Devil Fruit in his father's hand.
"No way! A Devil Fruit? The Eight Treasures Navy actually stored a Devil Fruit here?!"
He stared, stunned—for what felt like the tenth time today.
"That's right!"
Charlotte grinned as he tucked the three fruits away, ignoring his son completely as he turned and walked back toward the ship.
Caesar pouted but didn't press. He simply continued helping his siblings haul treasure.
With hundreds of billions in gold, jewels, and rare valuables, moving it all was no small task.
Especially the antiques.
Caesar couldn't understand why a pirate crew would even collect antiques.
Did they have too much free time?
—
Charlotte returned to the Poseidon, treasure chests in hand.
Barrett, seeing his return, breathed a sigh of relief.
He had thought something had gone wrong inside the iceberg.
"Captain, what happened inside?"
Charlotte, clearly in high spirits, explained:
"It's a Jade Iceberg. Beneath it was a cache of gold and rare jewels. It would've been hard to extract, so I just cut the whole thing open with one strike. Now everyone's hauling treasure. If you're free, bring some men and help out."
"Understood. I'll go immediately,"
Barrett nodded, unfazed.
Treasure was nothing new.
But judging by the captain's mood, those three chests had to contain Devil Fruits.
After all, everyone knew Charlotte's obsession with collecting rare fruits.
Barrett set off with a team, rowing toward the glacier.
With Charlotte personally guarding the Poseidon, no one in their right mind would dare approach.
—
Reaching the iceberg, Barrett was stunned.
The entire icefield was buried under a sea of gold.
Golden light shimmered across the snow, blinding and dazzling.
"So this is what the captain meant by 'some treasure'…"
It was the first time Barrett doubted one of Charlotte's descriptions.
Still, he didn't waste time—he joined the effort at once.
Because Charlotte had left the chief steward Ivan back on Carmel Island, financial matters aboard the ship were managed by Illyana, while Barrett oversaw the allocation.
He had been a warrior… now reduced to an accountant, constantly worrying about funds.
Seeing this much wealth made him feel like a child in a candy shop.
Back and forth the boats went—from iceberg to Poseidon, and back again.
Trip after trip, they worked until sunset.
After triple-checking that not a single coin had been missed, the entire crew returned to the main ship.
Only a field of rubble remained.
Unlike when Chinjao had pierced a crack into the Jade Iceberg, Charlotte's full-power strike had shattered it entirely.
Reconstructing it would take decades, if not centuries.
They loaded the final pile of gold onto the ship.
The crew cheered.
"We're rich!!"
Their shouts echoed across the sea, stoking everyone's excitement.
Charlotte stepped onto the deck.
"To celebrate our haul—1 million Beli per person. Tonight, we feast!"
He raised his hand and announced.
Over a thousand crew members erupted in cheers.
"Long live the Captain!"
"Long live the Captain!"
Even Barrett joined the shout—though his smile quickly vanished.
Because, of course, he had to distribute the money.
"Feast time!"
Charlotte shouted.
"Feast time!! Long live the Captain!!"
—
Night fell.
The Poseidon was lit from bow to stern.
Maids brought out platter after platter of food from the kitchens.
Charlotte was incredibly grateful that he had trained over fifty chefs.
Without them, hosting a celebration for a thousand people would be a nightmare.
The feast also featured dancers and entertainers, adding music and joy to the festivities.
They partied on the deck until dawn.
Charlotte was finally carried off—drunk and grinning—by several red-faced women.
As for what happened afterward…
Well, let's just say it doesn't need to be said.
