Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 - Snape Regret

Time flew by in a blink of an eye as the last part of winter retreated and the spring warmed the halls of Hogwarts. During which, under the effort of himself and his two friends they managed to learn the various magic involved in creating the Life Cup. Well, at least he did while both Angel and John learned it, but when put together it seemed foreign.

It's just as today Felix had heard something incredible, well at least to him and much to the regret of Severus Snape. For he had heard of the legendary breaking of his friendship with Lily Evans. Since as rumor has it, Severus had called her a mudblood and she slapped him upon breaking their friendship. For if that was true, Felix didn't know or care, but using the day neither he nor John or Angel were studying, he went to look for Snape.

While Severus has a sharp tongue, is arrogant and fairly introverted. Felix has talked with him a couple times throughout the school year. Usually suggest a few ideas on potions recipes or minor improvement. So while they didn't really have a friendship, they were at least a little familiar with each other.

Yet, upon seeing him, he didn't expect to find him dangling in the air by four boys with his pants nearly falling down. So, drawing his wand, Felix canceled the spell on Severus and began to fling minor hexes at the four clowns. Throughout the school year he has heard of them doing the same to others. However, this was more or less one of the first times he caught them in the act.

Sadly, he only really managed to get Remus and Peter for James and Sirius managed to react in time. So as Peter's teeth began to grow rapidly with horns on his forehead, Remus on the other hand began to cough out various bubbles. Both Sirius and James were firing back with their own hexes.

At first they didn't seem to realize it was a member of their own house nor a first year. However, once the spells began to fly, it was already too late. The lawn had turned into a battlefield between the Marauders and Felix until Severus began to join in. Which led to chaos rising up as Felix felt his fifty fifty talent kicking in as he fought pretty evenly with the four. Since who could have guessed that the Marauders were already fairly skilled in silent spells that usually learned in sixth and seventh year.

Soon the battle came to a stand still since neither side could advance and end it quickly. Even when Felix teamed up with Severus they could stall the four in the end. It seems that these five love to fight among themselves and know each other very well.

"Enough! What do you six think you are doing!"

Suddenly from the side, a very angry Professor McGonagall appeared alongside Professor Slughorn and Flitwick. Compared to her, the other two, while they weren't pleased, weren't as furious. Instead, they just sent pitying looks at Felix.

"Gryffindor loses one hundred and fifty points and Slytherin twenty points. Mr. Potter and your three friends as well as Mr. Snape will have detention for two weeks. Mr. Grindelwald, your detention will last until the end of school."

Felix did know that Professor McGonagall didn't like him, but there was still over two months of school. It was only March and for a minor school yard fight, it was very excessive. Not to mention he finally learned how to navigate the castle without needing John or Angel to hover around him.

Knowing that they will be dragged away, Felix turned to Severus. "I want to talk to you about something important. So let's meet at the library later or tomorrow. I don't know how much scolding I will get from her."

"What kind of important things can a first year student want to talk about?" Severus muttered sharply.

"Well some might call it a deal of a lifetime." Felix said before he followed Professor McGonagall.

--

After nearly two hours of a scolding where Felix felt Professor McGonagall mistook him for Garrett Grindelwald. Since last he knew he wasn't leading a campaign in America or across the European Continent. Yet, he didn't know if he should feel honor or not since she thought he had such skill.

Luckily or maybe he just caught him leaving the Library. Felix found Severus walking out of the Library. So he waved at him as he felt a bit tired from all the activities from tracking Severus down, fighting, following Professor McGonagall up to her classroom and being scolded. Only to walk back down and hopeful find Severus once again.

"So what is this deal of a lifetime?" Severus looked like he sneered out.

"That depends, I have three conditions for you. Don't worry they aren't harsh conditions, well maybe one. However, in the end it would be worth it I think even if you will hate it in the beginning." Felix said as he smiled.

"Tell me about the deal first." Severus gritted his teeth.

"You like potions and dark arts. I don't care if you study the dark arts as that is your hobby or current passion, I just hope you won't end up doing something you will regret." Felix shrugged.

"Get to the point or I will leave." Severus said.

"I have noticed you dislike being ordinary or what you considered ordinary. In exchange for you not mixing in the Death Eater in a strange way of trying to win Lily Evans back. Instead I will help you become a legendary potion master that could be on par or maybe surpass Nicholas Flamel of Alchemy." Felix stated.

"That is awfully bold and arrogant of you being able to claim you can help someone reach such a level." Severus growled. "Just like a typical Griffindor."

"Unlike many of them, I am not boasting about that, but willing to make a deal with you." Felix said calmly. "I will give you potion recipes, your job is to break them down and figure out why they work the way they do. Then you can publish your research and write books, growing your reputation as a genius potioneer, while I continue supplying you potion recipes. Don't worry about running out, for I got enough that even if you had countless lifetimes, there will still be countless more."

"Why would you want to give them to me then? Why not take the fame of publishing them yourself." Severus sneered.

"Time, there is only so much one person could do alone." Felix sighed. "There is only so much I can write with my own hands. Even if I turn myself immortal and write nonstop for the next thousand years, there won't be enough time. Not to mention, I would like to live life instead of being trapped behind a desk from dawn to dusk writing nonstop."

"Then prove it to me. Show me that you can provide me with recipes." Severus said. "If you can, I might be tempted to agree."

Felix pulled out a small notebook and handed it over. He thought Severus might ask this question so he came prepared. Inside were seven potions, some basic ones that most first year students can make, but much altered recipes while one was the cure for werewolves.

He really hoped this will grab Severus Snape since if the cure is released. He could inflict quite a hit on Voldemort's army of werewolves. Since the Dark Lord wants to attack him, Felix didn't mind returning the favor.

"Ok."

After a long few minutes, the gloomy teen before him agreed. "What are the conditions that you mentioned before?"

"The first one is don't join the Death Eaters or follow the Dark Lord. He won't bring you honor or a good reputation."

Severus Snape nodded to that.

"The second is to apply to be Hogwarts Potion Professor when Slughorn retires. He should be looking to retire in the next ten years and be a professor for let say twenty or so years. It's not confirmed yet, but I and a few friends might open a magical college for students who want further studies."

Severus sneered at that, but nodded reluctantly.

"Finally, I want you to give up the idea of marrying Lily Evans. You can love her and probably return to being friends with her after a lot of effort. She is your first love, but not your true love."
