Chapter 78 - Volume 2 Chapter 21: The Final Battle in Australia (Part 1)

The machines that should have been completely damaged all resurrected in an instant.

It was a trap, a trap set by the machines.

They lured Godzilla to use its non-focused breath from a distance, causing the flames to disperse.

Then they had some of the robots act as shields to block the greatly weakened breath, allowing some of the machines to "survive."

Next, they had the surviving machines play dead, deceiving Godzilla into thinking that the machines had been wiped out.

Because there were a sufficient number of machines, Godzilla wouldn't choose to detour more than a hundred kilometers to avoid their remains. After all, their numbers were too many, and tens of thousands of robots were enough to form a corpse net several dozen kilometers wide in front of Godzilla.

By deploying enough machines to create a surrounding "wreck" net in front of Godzilla, they could ensure that Godzilla entered the center of their "destroyed" area. At that moment, the machines could enter Godzilla's inner circle perfectly.

This was a plan to completely eliminate Godzilla.

A seamless plan.

The growth of the machines was terrifying.

Countless robots pushed aside the wreckage of the larger machines protecting themselves and rushed toward Godzilla at the fastest speed.

One kilometer, only took 20 seconds.

On the fourth second after they got up, Godzilla sensed the machines' resurrection.

In the first instance, it saw the large group of robots in the distance that were rushing back to its location after being revived.

So it fired at the resurrected machines coming towards it from a distance, completely destroying them.

Its breath took a detour, lasting for three or four seconds. By this time, some of the robots had already reached Godzilla's feet.

They displayed astonishing climbing abilities at this moment, using both their hands and feet to climb up Godzilla's body.

Until they reached the top of Godzilla's thigh, where they slipped into the crevices. And this all happened in just a few seconds.

In just a few seconds, thousands of robots climbed onto Godzilla's body. Godzilla tried to shake them off by lifting its leg and stomping down forcefully, which crushed some of them.

Then it switched to a different breath mode, using its nuclear reactor breath below itself to destroy the group of machines beneath it.

In just a matter of seconds, Godzilla had accomplished all of this.

However, within those few seconds, several hundred, even over a thousand robots had wedged themselves into the crevices of Godzilla's skin.

And this group of machines, after sacrificing tens of millions of their fellow machines, launched their first attack on Godzilla at this moment.

It was the first real attack on Godzilla.

Zzz...

Industrial lasers began cutting into Godzilla's body. The machines weren't using explosives or flames but pure lasers.

They were attempting to cut through Godzilla.

Compared to the powerful explosions and insufficient temperature of the flames, lasers could indeed harm Godzilla. So in this regard, their strategy was nearly perfect.

But that's where it ended.

Injuries come in different levels.

Even though hundreds or thousands of robots were cutting at Godzilla, the pieces they cut off from Godzilla's skin were far less than a billionth of Godzilla's body.

Even if Godzilla stood still and let them cut, their cutting speed couldn't match Godzilla's regeneration speed.

So, it was what it was; the machines couldn't go further.

Even with a thousand machines cutting on its thigh, Godzilla's movements remained unimpeded.

The machines still couldn't breach its defenses; their laser power was too low.

They could cut small pieces measuring a few millimeters or a centimeter, but causing significant damage to a colossal creature like Godzilla was out of the question.

In the end, what did the sacrifice of millions of machines achieve? To those who didn't understand the situation, it might seem amusing, given the immense loss of machines compared to Godzilla's minimal damage.

But in reality? This was a warning, a clear demonstration of the extent of their intelligence.

In the end, they succeeded in injuring Godzilla. Even if it was just a tiny bit, it was undeniable.

From mindless suicide attacks to infiltrating the inner circle, seeking cover to reduce losses, and finally launching a surprise attack on Godzilla through a trap.

The growth rate of the machines had reached a terrifying level.

Godzilla started to take the situation more seriously. It was contemplating whether to proactively deal with them.

It knew the consequences of machines endlessly replicating themselves. It was similar to the nuclear wars humans had fought in the past. Even with thousands of nuclear detonations every day, it didn't hinder the continuation of the war.

Compared to human plans, the threat posed by this group of machines was clearly greater.

However, Godzilla extinguished this thought. After all, destroying the machines wouldn't bring about the planet's ecological recovery.

As long as the planet's ecosystem could be revived, the existence or absence of the robots was inconsequential.

Even if they remained and were hostile to it after humanity's extinction, it wouldn't matter as long as the planet's ecosystem could recover.

Godzilla sincerely hoped for this outcome. Its own survival was no longer as important.

Even if the machines continued to exist and fight against it after humanity's extinction, it would be acceptable as long as the planet's ecosystem could be revived.

Feeling the machines cutting on its thigh, Godzilla switched back to its breath.

Then, it released a massive breath beneath its feet.

In an instant, its entire body was engulfed in a huge fireball, and its surface was melting and evaporating, along with the group of machines.

There, the cleanup was complete.

With the last of the machines attached to its body eradicated, Godzilla continued to advance into the desert.

Not far ahead, the city it was seeking stood tall.

"This is the power of artificial intelligence."

In the city ahead, all the remaining machines in Australia had gathered.

They would employ everything they had learned from their battles with Godzilla over the past dozen waves.

Whether they could repel Godzilla or not, they had already succeeded at this moment.

Because in this world, it wasn't just Australia that had machines.

[Remaining engineering robots in Australia: 68.09 million.]

[Progress in analyzing Godzilla's behavior logic: 61%.]
