Chapter 134 - Chapter 134: The Legend of Ravenclaw

The train to Hogwarts departed on time. With the help of Ms. Haifin, Noah, who had prepared everything, also boarded the train.

Although Noah could directly open a portal to Hogwarts, he didn't want to make such a high profile.

"You have to pay attention to your safety, okay?" Ms. Haifin couldn't help but worry about Noah before leaving, even though she knew that Noah was no ordinary person.

"Don't worry, Avril, if I encounter danger, can't I just run away?" Noah smiled, confident as always.

Although he was at the Fourth Order, there was a significant gap between him and Professors Dumbledore, Voldemort, and even Professor Snape.

But it wasn't easy for them to deal with Noah quickly in a real fight. After all, Noah not only knew elemental magic but also some space magic!

Even though his space magic wasn't perfect, it was on par with Doctor Strange's when he had just begun learning it—and that was enough for now.

With the pendant that had the same effect as the Sling Ring, Noah was confident he could open a portal at will. So, it would be incredibly difficult for Voldemort and the others to kill him!

Moreover, the elemental magic Noah mastered was quite strange, and with the blessing of Kamar-Taj's unique magic, Noah was confident that, even if he couldn't defeat Voldemort (definitely), he wouldn't be easily overwhelmed either.

Kamar-Taj was famous worldwide, not only because of the Ancient One but also because the magic it mastered was much more advanced than that of Hogwarts.

After boarding the train, Noah originally planned to find a seat. However, Noah didn't expect to be so well-known—or rather, their entire group was so famous. He didn't even need to say anything; the younger students or his classmates immediately pointed him in the direction of where the others were sitting.

Noah could only smile bitterly and thank them before heading towards the compartment where Kenn and the others were sitting.

This situation left many first-years puzzled, and some began to ask who this senior Noah was.

"What do you think of him? He's basically a legend!"

"Senior, is the legend really that much of an exaggeration?"

"Not at all. I can tell you with full confidence, if you're good enough to join their team, you'll basically become the best. You know, Mr. Finniel has always maintained the top spot at Hogwarts in every aspect, even defeating a sixth-year student in his second year!"

"Wow! Cool, that's incredible!"

A second-year student defeated a sixth-year student?

Such a thing was almost unimaginable. Muggle-born students might have been confused, but after some seniors explained, they quickly understood.

Those who were magical-born immediately understood the situation.

A person like this was truly a legend. Especially after hearing about Noah's deeds, like mastering elemental magic and defeating a basilisk, even those who didn't quite understand were listening very carefully.

Noah's small organization had made a strong impression, and many were seriously considering how to join.

Noah wasn't aware of this, and even if he were, he wouldn't have minded.

This was a good thing. The more outstanding members who joined, the better the future of the League of Mages.

Currently, the League of Mages was still small. This semester, Noah was planning to recruit lower-year students.

For instance, Luna Lovegood, who left a strong impression on Noah in her second year at Ravenclaw.

But speaking of her, this girl seemed like the complete opposite of Hermione. Luna relied on "intuition" for everything, while Hermione believed in "facts and logic." But Noah didn't care much about these differences.

Both were valid ways of viewing the world—Luna's approach was more in line with the magical world, while Hermione's was more in tune with the material world.

As long as they were good enough, these differences didn't matter, right?

"Damn it! I thought you weren't coming back!"

"Impossible, please, didn't I write to you?"

When Noah reached the carriage with Kenn and the others, Evan immediately spotted Noah.

He muttered with dissatisfaction, clearly upset at not seeing Noah for the entire summer.

Noah could only shake his head. What else could he do? After all, he had been taken away by Master Gu Yi.

Although Noah had left a message, it was clear that such a simple note didn't satisfy them. Evan's complaint seemed to reflect the feelings of everyone.

With a helpless smile, Noah found a seat and sat down. Soon, he noticed that several compartments in this carriage were almost completely filled with their group.

This wasn't an issue, but Noah did notice that several seemed to be newcomers.

"Did you find some new recruits?" Noah asked curiously.

"Yes, you guessed the House Cup champions wrong in the first year, and we all had some spots for self-recruitment. Last year, because of the basilisk, we didn't have much time to focus on this. Only Harry, Ron, and Katniss Lopez, a Slytherin, joined, and there was no one else."

Kenn rolled her eyes, as if to say, "This is all your fault."

"Um, so you recruited a lot of people over the summer?" Noah asked.

"No, they found us on their own. It just so happened that Mr. Constantine was taking on many tasks, so I asked him to pass some on to us for testing. Of course, we use people from different houses to test, ensuring no cheating."

"Really? How did they perform?" Noah asked.

"We didn't even give some people a chance to test, like Malfoy, whose family is involved with the Death Eaters. But this kid doesn't seem to give up—he's still trying to figure something out. As for the others, we sent them away if they didn't pass the first round. A few passed the first round but failed the second, and the rest stayed."

Noah nodded. He hadn't expected the firm he and Constantine co-founded would also serve as a testing ground.

But when he thought about it, it made sense. In addition to more difficult tasks, Constantine could also assign simpler ones.

These tasks weren't particularly hard, but they weren't easy for the students either.

For example, fighting something like a Sandman—many young wizards might faint at the sight, or be bewitched and fall into nightmares before they even saw it.

The Sandman was actually easy to deal with. A simple defensive charm could resist the sleepiness, and then finding the Sandman's body and casting an expulsion spell would make it vanish.

Of course, this was easy to say, but actually doing it was another matter. Things were always much easier to talk about than to carry out.

Upon observing the extra people present, Noah realized they seemed to be familiar faces.

For example, Padma Patil, Anthony Goldstein, Michael Corner, and Terry Boot from Ravenclaw, and Ron's two brothers and Neville Longbottom from Gryffindor.

Goodness, Longbottom was really going to be great in the future, but right now he was so timid. Who let him in? Or how did he end up with Evan and the others?

After some thought, Noah resisted the urge to ask. He decided to trust the person who had selected them. After all, Longbottom would eventually be Hogwarts' Herbology professor!

As for Hufflepuff, only one person had joined, a girl named Susan Bones.

Noah remembered her because she came from a pure-blood family that opposed Voldemort.

Her family had suffered greatly for their stance—her aunt, Amelia Bones, was a very talented witch and should have been the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Unfortunately, she was murdered by Voldemort for opposing him.

Amelia wasn't the only one. Her brother Edgar Bones had also died during Voldemort's reign.

It was safe to say that their family hated Voldemort as much as Harry did.

Susan herself hadn't had much better luck. During an Apparition class, she had lost her legs, though they were later reattached. It was a traumatic experience for her.

"Hey, come to think of it, aren't these the future members of Dumbledore's Army?" Noah suddenly realized.

It was an interesting thought. These little ones really were the future members of Dumbledore's Army, albeit in a less organized manner.

This made Noah smile. Maybe he could recruit the whole of Dumbledore's Army in the future?

He shook his head, pushing the thought away. With a smile, Noah greeted the new recruits, then sat down.

The new members looked relieved. Honestly, they were worried.

Noah's reputation was well-known at Hogwarts. Although he wasn't interested in Quidditch, his magical talent was extraordinary!

He had defeated the basilisk with his eyes closed (literally with his eyes closed).

He was top in every subject, beat Slytherin sixth-year students, and even tied with Professor Snape (after letting him go).

These were the accomplishments of a legend. Naturally, many of them were curious and eager to join Noah's team.

However, they soon realized it wasn't so easy to get in. Even Noah's subordinates weren't ordinary—each of them had an excellent grasp of their grade-level magic.

Most notably, they had received permission from the Ministry of Magic to cast spells outside of school!

This only fueled their excitement and desire to join.

Though the second-round test was difficult, at least the people sitting there had solved the problems, and they had learned one more thing that terrified them afterward.
