"You... Leveled up?" (Anna)
"Yes." (Mark)
"Did you not think about telling us about said level up?" (Anna)
"I forgot." (Mark)
Anna was tapping her finger as her arms crossed in front of her chest. She was giving Mark an undeniable stinkeye.
"You forgot." (Anna)
Anna drew out those two words as she spoke, her finger stopping mid-tap.
"Pray, tell, how did you forget something that none of us here have done this whole time?" (Anna)
"Seeing you butcher some of the animals was distracting." (Mark)
"Ah, yes, of course, you claim it's my fault." (Anna)
Anna had a cold smile on her face.
[You have leveled up Intimidating Caretaker]
[Intimidating Caretaker Level 2]
Surprisingly, everyone had backed off, not interfering with Anna's rage.
"Okay, all of you need to hear this because I will do the same for you." (Anna)
Anna had scolded all of them, explaining her reasoning for many things. To the point that they were still traveling as she talked. At some point, though, she swapped the topic to something none understood. She was no longer ranting and raving; she had calmed down already. They understood her well, or at least she hoped they understood her.
A large, sloth-like creature crawled through the branches of the tree. Its fur was made of leaves, and its black snout twitched as it looked at the group. Anna had stopped speaking when she saw it. This was a new creature. It tilted its head as its eyes seemed to shine oddly, as if trying to figure out what they were or maybe what to do. Its movements were fast yet slow, with its limbs swinging down, reaching for something the group couldn't see. A creature screamed as the nails of the sloth's fingers pierced through the head of one of the shadow creatures from the city, its head crushed and gone but used like a handle and lifted to the sloth's mouth as a crunching sound left its mouth, it eating the dead being in three bites. Crunching of bones, snapping, and grinding as everyone didn't know what to do. After eating the monster, the sloth moved away from the group; it didn't seem bothered to attack them. And they didn't feel the need to attack it.
"That was weird." (Kyle)
"You know, that is the first monster I've seen that consumes other monsters but didn't attack humans on sight." (Anna)
"I have to say the same." (Justin)
