Sabrina furrowed her brows, "Wedding what?."
"My wedding gift. I gave you yours yesterday. The necklace. You haven't given me mine."
"You didn't tell me."
Lexis threw her a look like he considered she
stupid, " Do you need to remind one to give her husband a wedding present?."
Sensing the upset tone in his words, Sabrina stared at the silver wrist chain she wore. The bracelet was given to her by her mom—her late mom on her 10th birthday.
She considered it very special because it was the last gift given to her mom, hence, she wore it anywhere and everywhere at any time.
Maybe, she could give it to him. Afterall, he did save her.
Without him, how could she have escaped from the forceful marriage her dad was threatening her into?
She unhooked it and stretched her hand, indicating Lexis to do same, "Here, your wrist."
Lexis curiously did as he was told, and Sabrina wore it on his wide wrist, "Done, your gift."
He stared at the silver chain. He rarely wore bracelets—anything worn on the wrist except wristwatches. But it was something given to him by his wife.
"It's a gift from my mom. It's been ten years, and I still greatly value it. It's now under your care, okay?."
"Okay." Lexis touched it, "thank you."
"You're welcome." Sabrina smiled. He glance at her neck and noticed she wasn't wearing the necklace he gave her.
"Sabrina."
She faced him, "Yeah?."
"Promise to always wear the necklace."
"Oh," Sabrina touched her neck, "Alright. I didn't remember to wear it because I was in a haste this morning."
"No problem. And besides, I need one more gift."
"And it's…?." She gazed at him.
Lexis coughed slightly, "One more kiss."
Sabrina stared at him, wide-eyed.
He wasn't satisfied even after the kiss that made her nearly fainted?

"Surprisingly, as you can see, the young CEO of the Woodsman company, Lexis Woodsman, is married to the disowned daughter of the middle class elite, Sabrina Wonders—."
The breaking sound of a glass was heard. Emily Solomon's hands were trembling as she listened to the news caster give the current news in Spain.
Lexis was married? To who? Sabrina Wonders— a damned woman she has never heard of.
With shaky hands, she dialed Bridget's number, Lexis' mom.
No, no, no. It might be a rumour. A false news.
And she hoped it was.
"—Lexis Woodsman also had the director and manager of the Diamonds company changed as his wife was nearly assaulted by the director." The moment the woman in the screen finished speaking, a video was played—Lexis pulling a black-haired woman into his car, her face unclear.
Emily narrowed her eyes. Who was she, to let Lexis embrace her so closely to himself?
Lexis, who was a real hater of women?
Lexis that belonged to only her?
"Answer the fucking call you Oldhag!." She tried dialing her number again.
She needed to confirm before jumping into conclusion.
She needed to call Bridget to know if it was truly true.

"Hello dear Emily, what's that you're calling me?."
"Aunt Bridget, did you listen to the news? Or have you watched the news yet? About recent happenings in Spain?."
"No, anything wrong?."
Emily sat down on the sofa, "News are everywhere that Lexis is married."
Bridget, who was leisurely sipping tea in the sitting room, paused, "Married?."
"Yes." Emily brushed her cinnamon hair, "I watched the news just a few minutes ago. He's married to a woman-by the name Sabrina Wonders, if I'm not mistaken."
"I'll check that. What if it's a fake news?." Bridget asked.
Emily pursed her lips, "I don't know. That's why I decided to call you."
"You don't have to worry. Lexis couldn't just get married without telling me. I will investigate the matter well, okay?."
"Ok, aunt."
"Good girl." Bridget hung up.
Emily exhaled. She prayed— prayed the news was fake.
And also hoped Bridget would dislike the woman getting entangled with Lexis.
She knew about Nridget handling the ancestral necklace to Lexis, in order for him to feel pressured and marry any woman he loved since he didn't have feelings for her.
Right from childhood, Bridget has always placed her as the wife of Lexis, because she was aware of her infatuation with him.

Lexie hadn't bothered about bringing the news of his engagement with her, but she had been so heartbroken when he said he knew it was her doing about the engagement news and even said it to her face that he would never marry her or fall in love with her.
The only person who was crazily in love with her was Zayn, Lexis' best friend whom she'd cry to sometimes whenever Lexie would hurt her emotionally.
Her only obstacle then— her only problem in getting with Lexis then was Claire, his first girlfriend who suddenly disappeared without a trace.
Now, just when she thought she could slowly worm her way to Lexis' heart, oble slut had come into the picture, to snatch the man she has been loving for years.
She has to travel to Spain to see who the woman is, but that would be after Bridget would be done with her investigations.
Bridget—Lexis' mom had always hated women who threw themselves willingly at Lexis.
She was certain—sure and confident that she would dislike the woman.

Sabrina submitted dozens of job applications to different companies, but none was ready to accept her.
