Chapter 24 - CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

"HAS IT BEEN GIVEN?" Sheila asked Martin. They are together in the house now because his wife is not home.

Ex-wife. He thought to himself.

"Yeah, our lawyer texted me that Sharlene has received it." That's all, Martin answered, hugging Sheila on their bed.

"May that serve as a warning to her; she shouldn't challenge me like that." He heard Sheila say.

"We're free now." He said while looking at Sheila.

"Yes, we're free to do things now." He smiled at her.

All of Sharlene's belongings are already outside their house. Martin makes sure there are no traces of Sharlene.

Sheila went to the window, and it was obvious she was looking at something.

"She's here," Martin heard Sheila say. He followed the sound and peeked out the window. He saw a woman. He saw Sharlene was clearly surprised.

Even though it was already late at night, she still went to their house. Martin looked at his wristwatch, and it was almost nine o'clock in the evening. He even witnessed her picking up the bag and placing it in the designated spot, anticipating Sharlene's arrival.

Martin just shook his head; Sharlene had a key to their gate and home back then.

He heard Sheila chuckle softly; he saw Sharlene leave her things for a moment and hurriedly went inside.

What a persistent bitch.

"Just stay here for now; I'll just greet her." That's all he said to Sheila and immediately left their room.

He ran into his ex-wife.

"You no longer have a house, Sharlene. Go back to your old life." That's all he said back then.

Sharlene only sighed.

"I don't have time to deal with what you're doing right now." That's all he heard from her.

"What are you doing here?" That was the only voice Martin heard coming from behind him.

He saw Sheila standing with her arms crossed, staring at Sharlene.

"Don't you have any respect? This is still my home, Martin." Sharlene frowned as she spoke to him.

"Did you not hear what I said? You no longer possess the house, as I have owned it for quite some time. Therefore, I kindly ask you to leave. Your belongings, as well as Ashley's, have already been packed and are ready for you. Your things and Ashley's things are already there; I've packed them up." He violently dragged Sharlene outside.

"Get out already! Get lost!" Martin shouted, Sharlene!

The strong slap on his face startled him.

"Martin," Sheila said to him with concern.

Sharlene stared at them intently without speaking; he saw the deadly stare that Sharlene gave to them.

"Get out, get out." Sheila shooed Sharlene away, forcefully pushing her.

He needed to protect Sheila, and maybe Sharlene would slap Sheila, so he put his arm around her.

Sharlene sighed and showed a smug face to them. She shook her head while gathering her things.

"Don't worry, I will be collecting your debt from me. Just wait, and don't get impatient." Martin even saw her take their wedding ring off her finger; Sharlene threw it at him.

Without saying a word, she left in front of them. They watched Sharlene leave intently. Only then did they breathe deeply.

"Are you okay, babe?" Sheila immediately asked him.

He just nodded—he felt Sheila kiss him on the cheek now.

"Let's go. Let's go inside." He urged the woman in front of him.

Sheila just smiled at him and nodded.

They were sitting at the dining table while drinking wine; they needed to calm down because of what happened. He scanned the house with his eyes and smiled as if he had lost his mind.

That woman has left. I'm not concerned about that child anymore; what's important now is that I'm free from responsibility. He smiles at his thoughts.

"I know you're happy now, hon, but we still need to be careful with your wife." Martin heard Sheila's reminders.

"Don't be afraid of her; she hasn't proven anything yet," he said. He could only shake his head. "She was merely concealing her grandmother's wealth in the past; now that her grandmother has passed away, she no longer serves any purpose." He slowly sipped his wine and intently stared at the woman with him.

"That's why I like you, hon." She just smiled at him.

He just smiled and tossed their drinks.

Someone hugged him from behind.

"Yeah?" he asked.

"We need to sleep." Sheila said softly.

Martin just stared at it, quickly finished the remaining wine, and hugged Sheila. He stared at her, and because of the amount of wine, his body was also starting to heat up.

He hungrily kissed Sheila, causing her to moan as they kissed. His mischievous hands immediately traveled to Sheila's thigh, caressing her smooth skin to further intensify the heat of their bodies.

Not content with the caresses he was giving her now, he even traveled to touch Sheila's happiness.

"Martin," she pulled away from the fire of his kiss when Sheila felt his hand; he just smiled at that and kissed Sheila again; he could feel that his lower part was slowly hardening.

Martin brought Sheila to the sofa, and he knew no one would disturb them. They are half-naked; he is on top of Sheila.

"Damn," he whispered. He wants to reach the paradise of happiness.

He looked around their future home when he felt someone watching them, so he turned to the direction where their actions could be seen in the mirror.

He just sighed.

"Why, hon?" Sheila asked, interrupting what they were doing.

"Nothing," he whispered in Sheila's ear, which made her giggle softly.

Sheila just moaned when he suddenly inserted it; she took a deep breath.

"Martin!" Sheila hit him lightly, and he just laughed.

"I know you like it; you're really clinging to it, hon." He had just said it. He also started to move around after he said it.

He felt again that someone was watching them, so he turned his gaze back in that direction. He saw the reflection in the mirror facing them; he saw Sheila's form, so thirsty for the call of their bodies.

He didn't stop what he was doing because he felt they were close to arriving.

He noticed that Sheila was enjoying what they were doing tonight. They continued their journey until they arrived at a place of happiness. He gazed intently at Sheila, who smiled at him, her breath still catching. Martin kissed Sheila again. Sheila accepted his kiss greedily.

"We need to sleep, Martin." Sheila whispered to him.

"Yes," he responded, getting up to help the woman to her feet. Sheila was the first to go upstairs, and he followed her when their eyes met.

He stopped then, saw a woman in mourning, saw her face, and remembered that he had seen her before; she gave him a sweet smile that raised the hairs on his body.

Suddenly, it approached him.

Be careful. It suddenly disappeared after saying that.

"Martin." He heard Sheila's voice, so he stared at her.

"Come on." Sheila felt annoyed.

"Y---Yeah." He hurriedly went upstairs and entered the room; they would also rest because they still had work tomorrow.

Martin is ignoring what he sees.

Maybe I'm just tired. He thought to himself. He felt Sheila hug him, so he returned the hug.
