Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: So, I Refuse

"Mr. Jotaro wants it? Then here you go."

Yamcha casually tossed the object in his hand to Jotaro.

The "Bow and Arrow" that so many people had fought over landed in Jotaro's hands just like that. Yamcha acted as if he didn't care about it at all.

Even Jotaro hadn't expected to get the arrow so easily. He had assumed the other party wouldn't hand it over—at least, not so willingly.

From Yamcha's attitude, it was clear that he understood the value of this "arrow."

"I have a question. I hope you can answer it, Mr. Jotaro."

Yamcha shifted into a more comfortable sitting position, his gaze resting on the arrow in Jotaro's hand.

"What do you plan to do with 'them' next? Let me guess… create more Stand users? As far as I know, you're not that interested in power. You're more passionate about your research work. If it weren't for hearing about Stand users, I'd guess you'd still be pursuing your love for marine studies, right?"

The reason Jotaro Kujo was sometimes called "Fish Seller Jotaro" was because, after reaching adulthood, he became a marine biologist. He had no desire for power, nor did he ever aim to be some kind of savior.

Jotaro wasn't surprised that Yamcha knew this much. In fact, he found Yamcha's depth of information astonishing—so much so that he was starting to believe that Yamcha might actually be an Interpol agent.

"So…"

Yamcha paused, took a sip of the hot tea in front of him, and continued:

"You don't plan on destroying it, do you?"

"Isn't that the obvious choice?" Jotaro was slightly taken aback before replying matter-of-factly. "You saw the damage Akira Otoishi caused, right? Just one Stand user was able to harm countless innocent people."

Yamcha sighed, as if he had expected this response. "Mr. Jotaro, you must have some understanding of Stand abilities. Do you really think destroying a single arrow will solve the problem?"

"Do you know how many of these arrows exist in the world? Even if you destroy one, can you destroy all the others? Or do you even know how many ways exist to create Stand users?"

"This is just treating the symptoms, not the root cause."

"When it comes to danger and destruction, a single Stand user doesn't compare to modern weaponry. Can you stop nations from researching and developing weapons, Mr. Jotaro?"

Indeed, unless a Stand had reality-altering powers, most Stand users weren't as much of a threat as a nuclear bomb. And just how many nuclear bombs did the world's superpowers have at their disposal?

"Then what are you suggesting?"

Jotaro's voice was low and serious.

"Destroying it would be a waste. Keep it, store it—it will be useful someday."

"Or, if you trust me, you could hand it over to me. I promise, I will never abuse it… at least, not in 'this world'."

Yamcha placed particular emphasis on the phrase "this world."

Jotaro neither agreed nor refused. He simply sat in silence, staring at Yamcha.

The arrow was indeed valuable, but Yamcha wasn't desperate to take it. First, this arrow wasn't the one that could evolve Stands. Second, he could come back to this world anytime. Third, he had no immediate use for it.

"Everything you said makes sense, and I completely agree with your point of view. So..."

"I refuse."

If Jotaro could be persuaded with words alone, he wouldn't be Jotaro Kujo.

"Ahem… Mr. Jotaro, let's put this topic aside for now. Let's move on to the second matter."

"I want to make a deal with the SPW Foundation."

As Jotaro's eyes widened in surprise, Yamcha took out a Capsule Corp capsule and his old jet bike.

"These things are enough to push the SPW Foundation to the next level," Yamcha stated.

"These… You're not an Interpol agent, are you? What exactly are you?"

Jotaro's expression turned serious. Even though he wasn't an expert in technology, he could tell that the things Yamcha had brought out weren't from this era.

"Relax, Jotaro Kujo."

Yamcha smiled, his tone lighthearted. He had already achieved his main goal in this world. Now, he just wanted to improve his quality of life a little.

"What if I told you I'm an alien? Or that I come from another world? Would you believe me?"

"It doesn't matter what I am. What matters is that I have no ill intentions toward you, Josuke, or anyone else."

Hearing this, Jotaro's tense demeanor eased a little. Yamcha had indeed shown no hostility—not only that, but he had even helped them.

"Then what do you want in exchange for these things?"

For a moment, Jotaro considered many possibilities, trying to figure out what Yamcha's true goal was. However, Yamcha's answer completely caught him off guard.

It was a very simple word, something that countless hardworking people needed most in life—something both humble and practical.

"Money!"

".?"

Seeing Jotaro's blank expression, Yamcha added, making a circular motion with both hands in the air:

"A lot, a lot of money!"

"???"

One Week Later – Morioh Port"Well, see you later. Don't miss me too much, Josuke."

"Make sure to visit if you get the chance."

Yamcha waved goodbye to Josuke Higashikata and, under Jotaro Kujo's watchful gaze, boarded a ship bound for America.

His official explanation was that he had received an order to return and report.

But in truth, his mission in this world was complete. It was time to leave. The Stand he had developed wouldn't be useful for now.

If he was leaving, he had to play his part until the end—who knew, maybe he'd come back to this world someday.

After all, it would be a waste not to take advantage of Crazy Diamond, the ultimate healer.

"Goodbye, Diamond Is Unbreakable's world."

"If fate allows, I'll return."

Inside the cabin, Yamcha waved toward an empty corner of the room.

Then, as if stepping into thin air, he completely disappeared—just as suddenly as he had arrived, without leaving a single trace.

At that exact moment, Jotaro Kujo seemed to sense something. He suddenly turned his head in the direction of the departing ship, his instincts telling him something was off.

At the same time, a surprised male voice spoke through the earpiece in his right ear.

"Mr. Jotaro, that guy… he vanished. This is unbelievable… Huh? What did you say?"

"Wait… This is bad, Mr. Jotaro! We just got a call from the hotel—the arrow you left in your room… it's gone!"

"Yare yare daze…"

Jotaro muttered his signature phrase, his face as calm as ever, before giving an order:

"Erase all the footage."

Then, he pulled a piece of paper from his pocket. Yamcha had left it for him before departing.

On it were several names, and among them, two stood out:

"Kira Yoshikage" and his father, "Kira Yoshihiro."
