Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Demon King's Interrogation

"Hmm? Demon King-sama?" Luo Lin's aura sharpened instantly at the loli's address, her mana flaring like a provoked kraken.

"Both of you—cool your jets!" Luo Qi massaged his temples. "You're leaking enough magic to summon the SWAT team. This is a rent-controlled apartment, not a dungeon raid." Most stories featured male monsters brawling over mates—why was his life a gender-swapped dumpster fire?

"But how does this loli know your identity?" Luo Lin's tone shifted to ice-queen severity, shedding her usual airheadedness.

Luo Qi sighed. Part of him wished she'd keep this regal facade—after all, publicly, Luo Lin was hailed as the "Frost Queen of Science", "Humanoid Antarctic Research Station", and "Blizzard in a Lab Coat".

Too bad nobody knew the truth: at home, she was a walking succubus meme, her charms laser-targeted at her brother.

"She's dragonkin," Luo Qi explained wearily. "Now scram—I need to interrogate her."

"Dragonkin?!" Luo Lin gaped. "The ones who vanished after the last Demon King's defeat?!"

"Correct. She shapeshifted into this form. No, I'm not a lolicon." He emphasized this like a courtroom oath.

"Ara~ " Luo Lin's eyes sparkled with delusion. "No need to explain! Every Demon King needs a harem! Nine thousand concubines sounds about right. Don't worry, big sis will be your first—"

"Delulu isn't solulu. Out. Now." He bodily ejected her from the room, slamming the door and layering it with soundproofing spells.

"*Waaah!* Brotherrrr! I'll behave! Let me study the dragon!" Luo Lin's muffled pleas echoed.

Ignoring her, Luo Qi checked the clock. After years of her succubus-brand lies, he knew better than to trust her "good behavior."

"We're on a schedule. Let's begin."

The dragon loli blinked, tilting her head. "Interrogation…? Does that mean… *scritches*?"

"Just answer honestly."

"Yessir!" She saluted, far more obedient than the hornet-mad succubus hammering the door.

"Name."

"Jeanne! Jeanne Uluros Fū Levi Saragato Ang! Heir to the Spirit Dragon Clan!" Her Draconic title rolled out like a royal decree. Luo Lin, lacking dragon-tongue perks, heard only garbled eldritch screeching—hence her exclusion, translating this would've been torture..

"Jeanne. Purpose?" A loli this young is actually the heir to the Spirit Dragons? Luo Qi's eyebrows knitted together. Every cell in his demon king instincts screamed "This reeks of trouble"—like finding out your new pet hamster is secretly the CEO of a multinational banana smuggling ring.

"To find you, Demon King-sama!"

"Alone?"

"No! All dragon clans sent envoys—Red, Green, Sea, and Obsidian! But the late Obsidian Dragon King's barrier only lets juveniles slip through."

"How many?" Luo Qi frowned. The dragon clan really were trapped in some secret realm—like a gacha game's premium loot box, except instead of waifus, it's full of scaly drama queens who couldn't leave once their power level hit max stats.

"Besides me—the Spirit Dragon heir—there's also successors from the Red, Green, Sea, and Dark Dragon clans!" Ji'en rattled off the list like a kid reciting Pokémon types. "The elders said whoever finds and brings back the Demon King becomes the new Dragon King!"

She delivered this bombshell with the same wide-eyed determination as a toddler declaring they'll grow up to be a unicorn astronaut. The concept of "Dragon King" clearly meant as much to her as corporate tax law to a goldfish.

Luo Qi side-eyed the clueless loli, "—this was less 'she found the Demon King' and more 'the Demon King tripped over a dragon-shaped plot device.'".

"Your goal?"

"To aid you in conquering the world!" Ji'en declared, stars in her eyes.

"Pass."

Luo Qi's eyebrow twitched. Predictable to the bone. These were the descendants of the Blackscale Monarch himself—that legendary right-hand drake who'd once scorched continents as the Demon King's fiercest enforcer. Some bloodlines never lost their edge.

"Huh?!" Her jaw dropped. "B-but… every Demon King rules the world! It's tradition! You're supposed to pat my head and say, 'Let's burn it all down together~'!"

"Pass. Tell your clans I'm retired."

"EHHHH?!" Jeanne's jaw dropped. Where was the maniacal laughter? The "Burn Everything" speech? This wasn't how Demon Kings worked!

"World domination's a hard no. Go home."

"B-but… without you, we can't break the barrier! Everyone's dying of boredom!" Tears pooled in her eyes.

"Boredom…?" Luo Qi's eyebrow twitched. Since when did dragons need entertainment?

"It's… complicated!" Jeanne fumbled. "Maybe Lady Obsidian's heir could explain? Should I dragon-shout for her?"
