A week had passed with nothing interesting happening in loguetown, Drakon was on his way to see Daddy Masterson again when Carol came running towards him. "Big brother, Drakon." She shouted at him with joy. "Hey, Carol. I was on my way to your house. How are you?" He said with a smile.
"I'm good, I was actually coming to see you too. My dad asked for me to get you."
"Why's that?"
"Oh, he said he wanted you get a glimpse of The Marines and nobels returning from the reverie today."
"The reverie is over already?"
"Yeah, apparently some pirates claiming to be the subordinates of straw hat Luffy infiltrated the reverie."
"What? Man, I swear, this Luffy guy sure gets the Marines on their toes. First it was axe hand Morgan's base, G-8 base, Enies Lobby, impel Down, Marine Ford and not the world reverie? Damn" Drakon says laughing.
"You sure know a pot about Strawhat luffy, big brother." Said Carol
"Well, it's that Bartelemeo guys fault. About a year ago he came here and started talking about how great Luffy is. I just happen to be passing and caught wind of what he was saying....Anyway, let's go see your dad." Drakon chuckled, shaking his head. "Bartolomeo's enthusiasm is contagious, isn't it? Alright, let's head out. I'm sure Daddy Masterson is waiting for us."
As they walked, Carol looked up at Drakon with a curious expression. "You know, big brother, you're pretty laid-back for a bounty hunter. Most people in your line of work are a lot more... intense." Drakon shrugged, his smile still on his face. "I've just learned to take things as they come, I guess. Besides, it's not about being intense; it's about getting the job done."
When they arrived at Daddy Masterson's location, the older bounty hunter was already waiting for them. "Ah, perfect timing! I was just about to go looking for you. Drakon, let's head over to town Square, you should be able to see the passing Marines and nobles there."
"Why do I have to go?"
"Well, last time they past you were out on a job. Now I just want you to see what my line of work was like back in the day."
"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're working together with the bounty office administration guy to try and get me to be a marine." He says laughing.
"Nah. I believe that everyone has the right to choose the path they walk, besides. I'll be a hypocrite to say you should walk the path that I myself couldn't survive on." Anyway, let's get going."
The trio make their way to the towns Square. On the way Daddy tells them that the nobels are going to be stopping by the local inns for a rest for a day, after that they are scheduled to depart again in the morning. Marine soldiers are seen coming with those nobels, the most noticeable one was Vice-admiral Momonga. The vice admiral notices Daddy from a far and walks up to him.
"Daddy Masterson,it's been a while. How are you doing?" He asked
Daddy Masterson smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Vice Admiral Momonga, it's a pleasure to see you again. I'm doing well, thanks for asking. Just enjoying the quiet life with my family here in the town."
Momonga's gaze flicked to Drakon and Carol, his expression unreadable. "I see you're still mentoring the next generation of bounty hunters, Daddy. That's commendable."
Drakon nodded respectfully, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword. "Vice Admiral. We're just passing through, enjoying the local hospitality."
Momonga's eyes narrowed slightly, his gaze lingering on Drakon. "I'm sorry young man, buy you seem familiar. Have we met before?"
"I don't think we did, Vice-admiral. Although I've stayed in the east blue since I was a child, I've currently been living in loguetown for a year and a half now."
"Let me introduce you. This Aquilar Drakon, a bounty hunter here in the east blue. Ever since Roronoa Zoro turned into a pirate and left, he took over as the strongest bounty hunter in these waters. Drakon, this is Vice-admiral Momonga, we used to be close like brothers back in the day. And this young lady here is my daughter, Carol Masterson. " Said Daddy
The vice admiral's expression remained skeptical, but he nodded curtly. " Its nice to meet you both. Now, if you'll excuse me. I have to get back to work."
With that, Momonga turned and walked back to the nobles' entourage, leaving the trio to continue their way to the town square. As they watched him go, Drakon leaned in, his voice low. "Looks like someone's still got it in for us, Daddy."
Daddy Masterson smiled wryly. "Just doing his job, kid. Let's just enjoy the peace while it lasts."
Later that night Momonga called Nevy HQ and requested that they sent him posters of the biggest names of the old era, however. He requested younger wanted posters. After hours of searching, he finally came across a wanted poster of a young "Shiki the Golden lion". The resemblance wasn't identical, but it was there. "I knew I've seen that face before. Does this mean that Drakon is Shiki's son?" Momonga asked himself. "I'll Nevy HQ know of this, I must take any rash steps."
Momonga's eyes remained fixed on the wanted poster, his mind racing with possibilities. He couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to Drakon than met the eye. The resemblance to Shiki was uncanny, and the timing of their encounter seemed too coincidental.
After a moment of contemplation, Momonga made his decision. He would discreetly investigate Drakon's background, trying not to arouse suspicion. He couldn't afford to alert Drakon or Daddy Masterson to his suspicions, not yet. Momonga's hands moved swiftly over the papers on his desk, scribbling notes and requests for information. He would need to tread carefully, gathering evidence before making any moves. The implications were too significant to ignore – if Drakon was indeed Shiki's son, it could change everything.
As he finished writing, Momonga's expression turned grim. He would have to wait and observe, gathering more information before making his next move. The game of cat and mouse had begun, and Momonga was determined to uncover the truth.
