Chapter 4 - Four

"Nice to meet you too, Spade," I muttered, hating the way his name rolled out of my tongue perfectly.

A few seconds have past and yet we were still staring at each other like awestruck teenagers. I looked down at our intertwined hands, waiting for him to pull his hand away but when he didn't, my brows furrowed. I pulled my hand away but as soon as I did it, I regretted it. I could feel the emptiness of his warmth away from mine.

I glanced away when I felt a vibration in my pocket; I opened my cell phone to see that I have at least one message.

I looked up at Spade, "Sorry..." I murmured.

He nodded his head and sat on the empty chair besides me. I glided my thumb on the phone and bit back a smile when the message popped out.

 Eric

 - How are you sis, still alive?

I rolled my eyes at his message and slided my fingers smoothly at the letters.

 To: Eric

 - Go to hell, Poo.

 Eric

- Oh, you're still alive huh. You didn't reply to any of our messages.

 To: Eric

- Sorry, just read it this morning.

 Eric

- Where are you now?

 To: Eric

- School.

The door opened and a man in his mid thirties walked in. He wore glasses like a professor and wore casual clothes. He didn't even look like a teacher, he looked much more like a model. My cell phone vibrated in my hand, signaling that someone sent a message; clearly, Eric. I put my cellphone inside my pocket, not bothering to read the message whatsoever since the class would be starting soon.

The professor began calling names alphabetically, and when my last name 'Scott' was called, I raised my right hand.

"Are you the new student?" He asked in a low voice.

"Yes, sir..." I politely responded, which earned a smile from him.

"Welcome to my class, I'm Richard Adams.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Adams," I blurted out, letting out a small smile.

He nodded his head, "Do you want to tell us about yourself?"

"Can I pass, sir?" I mumbled and fidgeted on my feet.

"Whatever you want," he responded with a smile.

I nodded my head, "Thank you, sir."

Okay," he said, lasting the last sound of the word.

My smile grew wider as he started the lesson. It was kind of cool to meet a teacher who didn't push his students into something they obviously didn't like to do in the first place. Maybe this place was not that bad after all.Wasn't bad...

That just stabbed tingles in my whole body when I felt his hot stare besides me. His strong deep blue eyes made me uncomfortable; those intense gaze made me want to squirm in my seat and go after him.

I shook my head to pull myself together. I was not in the right mind and on top of that I was already thinking of knocking off this seat and sat on his lap whereas looked more comfortable. I blinked a few times and mentally slapped myself, I really need to see a doctor and get a checkup.

"Class Dismissed!"

I sighed in relief and stood up from my seat; I took my bag and bit my lower lip when my eyes landed on the sheet of paper that was crumpled. I grabbed it and threw it on the bin near the door.

"Nice shot," Marissa said, "You've done that before haven't you?"

I blinked and tilted my head to the side and gave her a smile. I shrugged my shoulders and smiled. "Lots of practice," I responded.

Her smile widened, "What's your next subject?"

"History," I answered.

She nodded her head, "Great, we have the same class."

I just noticed how tall she was. She was 5'8, meaning I was only taller by an inch. Her skin was tanned, long-legged and gave off some kind of confidence but as I stared at her eyes, I could not help but felt as though she already knew what losing someone meant.

"Michael!" She yelled.

Michael, her twin brother, who was chatting with some guys walked towards the two of us. He had a smug smile on his face while looking at his sister with confusion. He was tall, maybe 6'1. He had a huge build since it could be seen on his dark blue fitted shirt but it still didn't let his charms down. As if, it only made him more intimidating that was screaming 'player'.

"Yes?" He asked.

"Want to come with us?"

"Next class?" He responded as a question.

"Uh-huh," Marissa hummed and nodded her head.

Michael shook his head, "No. I'm coming with my buddies."

"Whatever," Marissa snorted while giving her brother a disapproving look. I bit my tongue to keep myself from laughing at how childish she looked. The way she said it looked as if her candy had been stolen.

"Marissa, don't be a brat…"

"Michael," said a husky deep voice behind me.

I blinked, trying my best to calm my heart that was pounding rapidly in my chest. That kind of a deep voice was hard to forget.

"Spade," Michael nodded, his voice polite and with respect.

Spade? It fits him.
