Eve decided to go to the library. She loves reading. Thinking about all the happy endings that only ever happened in novels and movies.
As they walked to the library, Eve felt a sense of relief wash over her. She loved getting lost in books, and today she needed a distraction from her thoughts.
Roman noticed her scanning the shelves. "Romance novels, huh? You're a sucker for happily-ever-afters, aren't you?"
Eve blushed, feeling a bit self-conscious. "Just browsing."
Roman chuckled. "Oh, come on. You can't deny it. You're drawn to the idea of love, of finding that special someone."
Eve selected a novel and settled into a cozy corner of the library. Roman plopped down beside her, his eyes scanning the pages as she began to read.
"Girls like you love romance novels," Roman teased. "You think those dashing heroes exist in real life, don't you?"
Eve tried to focus on her book, but Roman's comments kept distracting her. "Roman, can you please let me read?"
Roman leaned in, his voice low and playful. "I'm just saying, those guys in romance novels are fictional. They're not real. You know that, right?"
Eve sighed, trying to ignore him. She read on, determined to escape into the world of the novel.
Roman continued to chirp, making witty remarks about the characters and plot. Eve did her best to tune him out, but it was hard to resist his teasing grin.
As she read, Eve found herself getting lost in the story, forgetting about Roman's presence. But every now and then, he'd make a comment, and she'd feel a flutter in her chest.
Eve spent her day in the library. Soon, it was almost time for dinner. Deciding to go grocery shopping she left the library.
Eve wandered through the grocery store, Roman tagged along, unusually quiet. She glanced at him, wondering what had changed. "You're being awfully quiet," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Roman's eyes met hers, and for a moment, Eve felt a flutter in her chest. She couldn't quite explain why his gaze affected her so deeply.
At home, Eve began preparing dinner – a classic American comfort food: mac and cheese with crispy bacon. Roman watched her with a critical eye, his silence broken. "You know, you could make it better if you added more seasoning," he said, his voice confident.
Eve raised an eyebrow. "You've always said I couldn't make it perfectly."
Roman chuckled. "Well, I'm here to guide you now. Trust me, I know a thing or two about good food."
As they sat down to eat, Eve couldn't deny the improvement. Roman's suggestions had made a difference.
After dinner, Eve freshened up, brushing her teeth, taking a warm bath, and doing her skincare routine. As she prepared for bed, she turned to Roman. "I think it's time for you to leave. I need some rest."
Roman's eyes locked onto hers, his expression softening. "Don't worry, I'll be here when you wake up. But tonight, I'll let you sleep undisturbed. No bothering you in your dreams."
Eve smiled, thinking if she should feel a sense of gratitude. Wasn't he the one always following her around. Besides, she didn't ask for it. "Thanks, Roman. I appreciate it."
As Roman vanished into thin air, Eve climbed into bed, feeling a sense of peace wash over her. She closed her eyes, letting the silence envelop her, and drifted off to sleep.
