Chapter 10 - Someone Special

Eve hailed a cab and headed to the airport to pick up Isabella. After a warm reunion, Eve invited Isabella to her house. "Come stay with me, it'll be fun! We can catch up and hang out all the time."

Isabella smiled apologetically. "I already booked a hotel room before I arrived. But thanks for the offer, Eve."

Eve persisted. "But it's so much more convenient if you stay with me! Plus, my place is huge. You can have your own room and space."

Isabella chuckled. "I appreciate the offer, but I'll stick to my hotel for now. If I don't find a suitable place within a week, I'll take you up on your offer, deal?"

Eve grinned. "Deal! You promise me, though. If you don't find a place, you're moving in with me."

Isabella laughed. "I promise, I promise. Now, let's grab some coffee. Where's your favorite spot?"

Eve's eyes lit up. "Daily Cafe! They have the best coffee in town."

At the cafe, Eve automatically ordered her usual black coffee and muffins, plus a creamy caramel latte. Isabella opted for a velvety cappuccino. When they sat down, Eve realized her mistake. She had ordered Roman's usual coffee without thinking. Roman's amused smile made her blush.

Isabella, oblivious to Roman's presence, teased Eve about her order. "Expecting someone special?" she asked, eyeing the extra coffee.

Roman chimed in, his voice low and playful. "Looks like someone's got a secret admirer...or a boyfriend."

Eve's face grew warm as she tried to deflect Isabella's question. "No, no one special. Just a habit, I guess."

Isabella raised an eyebrow. "A habit of ordering for someone else? You're a mysterious one, Eve."

Roman chuckled, enjoying Eve's discomfort. Eve shot him a look, sipping her coffee, but he just smiled.

Eve excitedly shared her news with Isabella. "Guess what? I got the job! I'm so thrilled."

Isabella's face lit up. "Congratulations, Eve! That's amazing news! You're going to crush it."

Roman's voice whispered in Eve's ear, "That's my girl." Eve's cheeks flushed, and she quickly sipped her coffee to hide her reaction.

Isabella continued, "You deserve it, Eve. You're so talented and hardworking. I'm sure you'll make a fantastic addition to the team."

Roman chimed in again, "That's my girl." Eve's face grew warmer, and she took another sip of her coffee, trying to compose herself.

Isabella noticed Eve's blushes and raised an eyebrow. "Eve, you're blushing a lot. What's going on? You're not getting cold feet about the job already, are you?"

Eve laughed nervously. "No, no, it's just...I'm just really happy, that's all."

Roman's voice whispered again, "That's my girl." Eve's cheeks burned, and she quickly looked away, sipping her coffee once more.

Isabella's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "There's something you're not telling me, isn't there? Spill the beans, Eve!"

Eve smiled, trying to deflect Isabella's question. "There's nothing to tell, Izzy. Let's just celebrate my new job, okay?"

Isabella leaned in, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Come on, Eve, tell me the truth. Do you have a boyfriend? You're blushing like crazy, and that extra coffee order...something's going on, isn't it?"

Eve's face grew even warmer as Roman's voice whispered in her ear, "That's my girl." She took another sip of her coffee, trying to hide her reaction.

"I'm just happy about the job, Izzy," Eve said, trying to deflect the question. "Let's not make a big deal out of nothing."

Isabella's grin grew wider. "I'm making a big deal out of it. You're hiding something, and I want to know what it is."

Roman chimed in again, "That's my girl," and Eve's cheeks flushed even more. She felt like she was going to burst into flames.

"I swear, Izzy, there's nothing going on," Eve said, laughing nervously. "You're just reading too much into it."

Isabella's eyes sparkled with amusement. "I'm not giving up. I'll get it out of you eventually."

Isabella sipped her coffee in silence, but Roman continued to tease Eve, his voice low and playful. "You're so cute when you blush, Eve. It's adorable."

Eve's face burned with embarrassment, and she felt like she was going to explode. Roman's words only made her blush harder, and she couldn't take it anymore.

Suddenly, Eve yelled out, "STOP IT, ROMAN!" The cafe fell silent, and all eyes were on her. Isabella's eyes widened in surprise, and she set her cup down. "Eve, what's wrong?" she asked, her voice low and concerned.

The barista looked at her with a mixture of concern and curiosity. "Ma'am, is everything okay?"

Eve's face turned bright red as she realized what she had done. She looked around the cafe, mortified, and then back at Isabella. "I'm so sorry, Izzy. I just...I think I need some fresh air."

Isabella nodded, concern etched on her face. "Let's get out of here, then. We can talk about this later."

As they left the cafe, Eve could feel Roman's amused gaze on her, and she knew she was in for more teasing later.
