"Flying Raijin: Group Teleport!"
Uchiha Shin wrapped an arm around Sarah and vanished, reappearing instantly in Konoha.
The women in the room turned as one, their eyes locking onto Shin, who was holding a little girl in his arms.
Silence.
"Uh... hey, looks like everyone's here."
The moment he spoke, every woman in the room smiled. Only Konan remained quiet, her gaze merely curious as she studied Sarah.
"Stop grinning like that. We'll talk later."
Shin released a fraction of his chakra, a dense, oppressive aura settling over the room. Instantly, the teasing air disappeared, replaced by silent understanding.
[Shit. They're thinking too much. I already have a daughter... If they don't believe me, I might need to put in some extra effort.]
[Should I try to have a kid soon?]
...
The women in the room had their own silent epiphanies. After calming down, they turned their focus toward Sarah.
The little girl met their stares without flinching.
"Hello, godmothers. I'm Sarah."
"Aww!"
As soon as she spoke, Kushina and Kanako nearly melted on the spot. Even Uzumaki Mito, despite her composed demeanor, immediately signaled them to bring Sarah closer.
Watching them fawn over Sarah, Mikoto silently moved next to Shin and pinched his waist.
"You never told me you had a daughter," she whispered, voice dangerously calm. "So, you really got involved with Queen Sasha, that fox."
Misaki, another woman in the group, scoffed. "Queen Sasha, huh? Should we still call her that? Strictly speaking, she's just another concubine of Shin now."
Shin scratched his head. "Look, it was a strategic decision. Everything I do has a reason."
Mikoto narrowed her eyes. "Oh, so I should feel threatened now? And you're not getting any younger either, Shin."
Shin smirked and ran a hand through her hair. "Feeling competitive? You should be. You're old enough now, Mikoto."
The words hit their mark. Mikoto's thoughts instantly shifted. If Shin was thinking about kids, she had to act first. She couldn't let Tsunade or Kanako beat her to it!
Then, something clicked in her mind.
"Wait. Why is her surname still Sasha's? Shouldn't she have the Uchiha name?"
Shin sighed. "I don't care about surnames that much. I actually prefer the kids to take their mother's name. Makes it easier later on."
Mikoto frowned. "Easier for what?"
Shin hesitated. "Just... easier."
The truth was, he didn't want his children to inherit his wealth or power. Shin was selfish. He never denied it. He wasn't interested in passing down anything.
He preferred daughters. He had no desire for sons to compete for his legacy. Girls were different. They wouldn't challenge his authority.
Besides, there was a special kind of satisfaction in raising them from birth.
Mikoto didn't fully understand his reasoning, but she understood one thing—
If Shin had this mindset, then only the child she gave birth to would have the Uchiha name.
[That means I'm special.]
A pleased smile crept onto her face. Shin noticed and felt uneasy. Something was definitely going on in her head.
And then, there was another issue. One that had been bothering him for a while.
Uchiha Shinji, an elder of the clan, had been pressuring him to marry.
To be more precise, Shinji thought it was inappropriate for Shin to only have Mikoto as an Uchiha wife. Given Shin's status and the power he wielded, his lineage within the clan needed to be... prioritized.
It wasn't that Shin wasn't interested in expanding his influence. But Shinji had taken things to another level.
Shinji had even gone out of his way to find young, talented Uchiha girls that fit Shin's, uh, "tastes."
Apparently, Shinji thought Shin had a thing for younger girls.
And Shin couldn't really deny it.
Among the candidates Shinji had scouted, one name stood out—Uchiha Izumi.
Shinji insisted that Shin take her under his wing. Train her from a young age. Mold her however he wanted.
Frankly, Shin wanted to give Shinji a thumbs-up for his excellent work.
However, if Mikoto ever found out, there was a good chance she'd beat Shinji into the ground.
For the sake of his 'dear relatives,' Shin decided to keep quiet for now.
Just then, Uzumaki Mito spoke up, snapping Shin from his thoughts.
The old woman had been watching Sarah with warmth, a faint smile lingering on her lips.
Even if Sarah wasn't Kushina's daughter, she carried the Uzumaki bloodline. That meant the Uzumaki clan would continue, even if only in part.
With that final peace of mind, Mito let out a long breath and lay back against her pillows.
Her voice softened.
"Shin, if you truly plan on bringing me back through Edo Tensei... do me a favor. Don't make me look too old."
"Grandma!" Tsunade's eyes widened. "You—"
Mito chuckled. "What? I might be old, but my heart is still young. Your grandmother was quite the beauty in her day, you know."
Tsunade groaned. "That's not the point!"
Mito's smile remained, but her breathing weakened. And then, finally—
Silence.
She was gone.
Unlike a traditional death, there were no tears. No wailing. No mourning.
Mito had already accepted this moment. And frankly, if Shin wanted to, he could bring her back anytime.
Shin cracked his knuckles and exhaled.
"Alright, everyone clear out. I need to deal with the Nine-Tails."
His tone shifted, and the room turned serious.
"Mito's body won't last long. If we don't act now, the fox will die with her."
He stepped forward, pressing a hand to Mito's stomach. The seal marking her abdomen glowed with intricate kanji.
"Sealing Jutsu: Release."
The moment the jutsu activated, a surge of chakra flooded the room.
Shin smirked.
