Kael's pov
Early the next morning, i made my way to the king's chambers.
"You can't go in there, my prince the king ordered that no one be allowed in" A guard said trying to stop me. Anger rose to the top of my head and i threw him out of the way easily and walked into the room. My father, the king was with one of his whores. "Leave us,.. Now" she scurried away immediately i spoke
"What are you doing here, you piece of shit and how dare you dismiss my guest. Who let you in here?" He yelled angrily through gritted teeth.
"Silence." My voice rang out i could feel my demon clawing to get out and rip the man's head off. "Why….. i asked, "why did you decide to sign my death warrant for me. I know you hate me that is public information already but why the fvck did you invoke the throne war".
"Why, to get a worthy king of course, i can't let my kingdom fall in the wrongs hands now, can i?" The mockery behind that statement was completely obvious in his voice.
"oh shut up, you know very well that ken and his brothers will surrender the throne to kanan and even if i also surrender, kanan will stop at nothing until he uses my corpse as a footstool. Are you that eager to kill me? Why?" i asked in a loud voice
" maybe, i want you dead. No wait, yes i want you dead, you fucking bastard. And you want to know why?... Its because of your mother" he yelled again, trying to match my voice.
"If your mother had not betrayed my love for her, i would have loved her the most. I fvcking cherished her and what did i get in return. Betrayal and a bastard demon to take care of" he added.
"What did my mother do to you that is so unforgivable"
"You can ask her when you meet her hell" He spatted out, then he started to cough up blood. I just stood there looking at him the guards who had come in after hearing our voices rushed and layed him on the bed. "Go and bring the royal physician. NOW" Kanan said out of nowhere.
I quietly left the room i have to get seraphine out of this kingdom immediately. I walked straight to my bedroom seraphine was already awake.
"Gather few essential things you will be needing, quickly" i said in a state of urgency. "Why has something happened?" She asked standing up from the bed.
"Kanan just officially drew the battle line for the throne" i answered, her eyes widened "The king is dead?"
"No, kanan killed him.. are you ready?" I asked. She nodded "let's go". We hurried out of the castle.
"Fred, i called "Take the princess and head to the bermuda, take her to the fortress there and make sure no one follows you" i continued.
"Wait… wait. What about you, aren't you coming with us?" Seraphine panicked. "Calm down, seraph, i will follow behind you, there are just a few things i need to take care of before i leave. Please go, hurry….
Fred, take her" she was resistant and refused to leave so i had to order fredrick to take her forcefully. "I,ll see you some other time, love" i kissed her forehead. Then i signaled fredrick and they left quickly.
"Kaaaeeel!!" I heard kanan's voice, good thing seraph had left a while ago.
"What do you want, kanan" floods of royal guards surrounded me in an instant. "What is this" i asked.
"You have killed our father the king and you shall not go unpunished" kanan said but i could see the evil glint in his eyes.
"So this was your plan all along? Kill father and accuse me of his murder? Why?, So that i will be labeled as a traitor?" I said with a smirk.
"Take him and lock him up in the dungeon. Make use of the strongest chains you can find to bind him." He said again ignoring what i said.
I will not be able to take on all of these guards all at once, they are too many, but i have to buy time so that seraphine and Fredric will be able to get far away from here.
I took hold of my sword "come take me if you can" i said and ran with inhumane speed. I cut off the head of the guard closest to me. They rushed at me all at once i kept slicing through them like butter the dark part of me was enjoying the blood bath, it always had an appetite for bloodshed but i was already exhausted. "Let me out" i heard a cold voice the same one i always heard in my nightmares. Before i could come back to reality, my hands were already bound with chains and i was too exhausted to put up a fight so i surrendered. I know Fredrick amd seraph must have gone far away by now and i do not intend to stay locked for long.
