"Man, I don't know, but I'd be dumping the hoe right away," Kennedy said in reply to a joke Eric cracked, making the two explode into laughter.
"You know what," Eric began between laughs, "I'll tie the girl up rather and let her watch me spend time with another lady."
"Bro!" Kennedy exclaimed, "That'll be sick!"
"I know, right?" Eric nodded, flexing a bit.
He then nudged Logan, expecting him to say something, but he was quiet. He just walked with them but said nothing.
Since they walked out of the classroom, Logan hadn't spoken. It looked like his mind was far away, his eyebrows were furrowed, showing how deep in thought he was.
He wasn't listening to them, and they realized.
"Yo bro, what's up?" Eric turned to Logan. But when Logan didn't answer, he snapped his fingers at him.
"Huh?" Logan blinked.
"Are you even listening?" Eric inquired, and Logan said nothing. He just continued walking.
Eric turned to Kennedy, his eyes pleading for support.
"I got this," Kennedy muttered. "So, I thought you said Harper wasn't your business, now you're dating her?" Kennedy chuckled, and Eric joined in. They were expecting Logan to say something, but he said nothing. A faint smile just tugged on his lips. Logan just shook his head.
Suddenly he remembered he had a free period and he had to walk around with Harper for attention.
Although he didn't want to, his mood was down, and he knew for sure that teasing Harper would make him wear a satisfying smile. He just enjoyed teasing her.
"Speaking of Harper, I gotta go visit her," he said and began walking away. Kennedy and Eric exchanged glances.
What was happening to the campus heartthrob?
"So, are you just gonna sit here and watch me feel bored while you just solve maths?" Tyla questioned, her frown deepening and her gaze leaving her phone.
For some time now, Harper had just been solving the equations in her textbook while Tyla just used her phone. She got bored and tired of just staring at it.
"If I say yes?" Harper smirked, causing Tyla to roll her eyes.
Hitting Harper playfully, Tyla spoke, "You're the worst," and they both giggled.
The wide classroom was noisy, but it became even louder the moment someone entered. And when Harper and Tyla looked up, their jaws dropped.
Logan Hayes was in the classroom, and he was walking towards Harper. He wore that same devilish smirk, and Harper swallowed, her heart suddenly racing.
He was up to no good.
Then—
He stopped in front of Harper. With his hands on her desk, Logan Hayes stared at her. Harper could feel her face burning like a warning sign due to his closeness.
That was when the classroom went silent. Logan commanded so much attention without even asking for it. Most students picked up their phones and began filming the whole scene.
Who could blame them?
The campus heartthrob x dean's daughter relationship was the news.
"Hey, girlfriend," Logan purred, and a forced smile tugged at Harper's lips, betraying her tension.
She wanted to speak, but the words seemed caught up in her throat. She knew why. She knew the cause was nothing but his closeness.
"Told you I'd come pick you up, right?" Logan continued, his eyes just lingering on Harper.
Seeing her looking so uncomfortable made his smirk deepen.
Closing the book on her table, Logan Hayes spoke, "Enough, princess. It's time to escape stress for your prince, aight?"
Logan spoke with confidence that seemed like he meant it, and Harper's stomach twisted into knots.
—
Her what?!
Did he just call himself her prince?
Her face turned red.
The staring and attention were too much for her.
Logan stretched out a hand. "Come with me, princess."
Harper wanted to roll her eyes and push him away, but the attention wouldn't let her. She had to act like the perfect girlfriend she wasn't. She placed her small hand in his, his own hand engulfing hers.
Logan then helped Harper stand up.
She faked a warm smile and took her hand from his. Logan smirked.
She was feeling uncomfortable.
Good.
Meanwhile, Tyla was squealing like a fangirl. She was thrilled for her friend. Harper and Logan looked amazing together. Who would've thought the Dean's daughter would end up with the campus bad boy? Even if it was just pretend, it was still wild.
Picking her bag up, Harper walked out of the class with Logan, and everyone stared. The moment they left, whispers exploded.
Alexa, who was also in the class, stared at them. Picking her phone, she texted Hazel.
Alexa: You won't believe this!! Logan Hayes just visited that slut in maths class!!
Hazel replied in less than 2 seconds.
Hazel: WTF?!
****
"Why aren't you going to ask me anything?" Logan turned to Harper as they wandered around campus.
"Ask you what exactly?" she turned to him, folding her arms.
"'Why did you come pull me out of the class?'" he mimicked Harper, and she found herself giggling.
Logan chuckled lightly, stealing glimpses at Harper.
"I don't sound like that," she chortled, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"You do!" Logan pressed.
"Whatever," she rolled her eyes.
Suddenly Logan's phone buzzed.
He shoved his hand into his pocket and brought the phone out.
Message from Unknown Number
Message: You'll see who this is... I'll take you back to Rapture myself.
He read.
Logan stared at the screen.
Harper turned to him, curiosity growing.
He wondered—who the hell could it be?
Then he stopped walking, making Harper pause with him.
A smirk slowly tugged at his lips as he typed back:
Logan: I'll love to watch youtry.
