Chapter 19 - They've Finally Appeared.

The metropolitan train moved at high speeds through an underground rail way system, making it difficult to be broken into by any regular human effort, but they weren't regular.

Silas watched Ice who'd taken a seat with Selena, just across Luke. Silas sat with some random person, their row just behind Luke's, and he shifted his gaze to the closed window.

'It's morning already,' Silas yawned as he relaxed his elbow on the armrest of his seat and cupped his jaw in his palm. The train's engine revved, then slowly began accelerating.

"How far is it to Order City?" Selena, who was quiet since they left Ice's home, gathered the strength to speak. She turned to Ice who sat beside her, "I'm feeling sleepy already, Ice."

"I've been in and out Order City for a while, it wouldn't take long now." Ice assured the girl, who proceeded to relax her small head on her shoulder. Ice watched Selena and sighed.

"So this is the metropolis' high speed bullet train, Aerostar?" Silas blinked, watching as the scenery of a distant sun and numerous buildings turned blurred, shifting his gaze ahead.

In an instant, the train had dived underground. Silas took a deep breath as the sunlight vanished, leaving them in the dimly illuminated tunnel, 'Not like I could see much, anyway.'

"First time?" The young woman sitting besides Silas tried to strike a conversation. Her black hair was tied up in twin buns, and an intricate hairpin was pinned into one of them.

Silas shifted his gaze to stare at the side of her face. Her eyes were closed, and her skin looked very radiant. Her ink black turtleneck dress had a revealing slit across her shoulder.

"Oh, yeah. I've never been outside the city." Silas chuckled drily, turning his gaze away from her and back to the city. Of course, Silas could never let her get a hint of his identity.

"The bullet train would slow down once we get to the surface," She said after a while, opening her eyes and turning to stare at the side of Silas' face, "You can call me Matilda."

Silas turned to her with a polite smile. She had a symmetrical face, with bright silver eyes and a cute smile. Silas noticed her icy breath, "My name is Silas. Nice to meet you."

Matilda giggled, then turned away from him. Only then did Silas notice the cold aura around her body, like the vapour emanating from something that was frozen for too long.

'It's normal for supers to take bullet trains from city to city.' Silas looked away, but an eerie feeling loomed over him. He prayed they wouldn't try anything with so many people.

Suddenly, the train began slowly down. Silas shifted his gaze to the windows, but they weren't out of the tunnels yet, "Why's the train slowing down before we leave the tunnel?"

Matilda was silent, and Silas frowned. The train was decelerating at a slower pace, but it didn't seem like it was going to stop any time soon, so Silas stood to his feet, "I'll go us—"

Just as he stood to his feet, the train jerked forth. Silas lost his footing, nearly tumbling over into Luke's seat, but grabbed the overhead racks in time— The train was accelerating!

"Be careful. You shouldn't move carelessly when the train is moving that fast." Matilda warned without turning to look at Silas, not noticing him staring down at her in confusion.

He calmly sat himself down, then took a deep breath. After some time, Matilda started talking with her gaze still locked ahead, "An ordinary person would've flew over the seats."

'How did she notice that?' Silas asked himself, staring at the side of her face. He looked her up and down, searching for anything suspicious, 'Did she see it while I was distracted?'

Silas turned from the woman to Ice and Selena. Ice was staring right at him with a cold gleam in her eyes, and Silas' expression hardened seeing her resolute expression. He sighed.

He was going to check out this issue for himself, and deal with it. After confirming that the train would not be making any abrupt movements, Silas stood to his feet, "Excuse me."

Matilda stared at Silas as he stepped out of his seat and stepped into the aisle, tracing him with her eyes as he walked to the door at the back. She removed her gaze and sighed.

As he nodded to the uniformed man standing by the door, opening it and stepping past, Silas took time to read the chats of the stream and floating reaction emojis filled his view.

|Kitchen.Soup.98— Something is wrong.

|ColdSeaSalt— Thanks bro. We wouldn't have noticed.

"Hmm," Silas frowned. He looked from left to right, but this part of the train that led to the restroom was empty and he could only stare out the windows. It was just a short walk.

As he stepped into the men's restroom at the end of the path, Silas paused. He observed the restroom facilities, the pearl tiled floor, and the glass mirror, "They must've gotten us."

After 'relieving' himself, Silas stepped out of the restroom. As he turned from the door, Silas met with a few masked people. Silas observed, counting seven in number, then sighed.

"What is going on here?" He questioned, knowing fully well what was going on. He was prepared for the worst, and hoped for the best, but Silas knew how his luck would turn out.

"In short time, this train and everyone in it will crash in the Light House District of the Order City." The man standing at the front of the other spoke loudly, "And they will all die."

"If you make any wrong moves," the woman standing by his side, wearing a cloth mask over her head, spoke in a crystal clear voice, "the chemical bomb we installed will explode."

"What makes you think I'd care about anyone in this train?" Silas raised a brow, locking his gaze on the man who stood at the front, "I could rip out your heart and feed it to them."

"If you fail to cooperate, your companions would be reduced to atomic waste." The man threatened, unfazed by Silas' murderous glare, "You can let them die or cooperate with us."
