Zoe's accidental influencer career had been one thing. But Pauline's viral fame? That was too much for Mr. Kibet, who had been secretly filming his own series on "residential leadership and masculinity."
"I just don't understand," he muttered, watering his succulents aggressively. "Why do people want chaos when I'm out here giving them structure?"
He uploaded a video titled "Why Real Men Don't Blend Leaves" but it got only six views. Two of which were him refreshing the page.
The next day, he showed up at their door with a passive-aggressive smile and a notebook. "Hello, Zoe. Pauline. I just thought we should… collaborate. You know. Neighborly synergy."
Pauline adjusted her sunglasses (inside the house), looked him up and down, and said, "Do you have a wellness vision, or are you just thirsty for clout?"
Zoe inhaled sharply. Mr. Kibet looked like someone had slapped him with a detox plan.
"I'll… come back later," he mumbled.
